Schaeffer Electric Company Inc

This is the second time this year that we have used Schaeffer. They are an outstanding company, helpful, highly professional, responsive and very good at trouble shooting. Josh, the electrician who completed the upgrade this week was great to work with, very patient with all my questions and requests, was very efficient and left everything at the end of each day totally cleaned up and functioning. There are not many companies who can work with all kinds of houses from recently built to 85 year old homes like mine with knob and tube like Schaeffer does. Also, I was working on a deadline with this upgrade and Brian Schaeffer was so accomodating in getting to my house for a bid immediately and scheduling the work quickly. I will be calling Schaeffer for all my future electrical needs.

The electrician arrived on time and was very courteous. He determined the appropriate location for the outlet and had the job completed within an hour.

Fantastic job. Jason was right on time and was really helpful. I appreciated him answering all my questions and taking the time to chat. City inspection also passed with ease for the 200A service and new breaker box! I recommend their service. It was excellent!

It went very well. I heard popping in the switch which concerned me. They arrived within 1 hour and changed out the switches.

Overall the project was completed without issue. Brian came out and completed the walk thru and provided us an estimate within 48 hours. We added on a few things and they were more than happy to accomandate. After we signed the proposal we set the date and on that Mon the installers showed up and began working, Jason and Tom were a pleasure to work with, you never knew they were there, they answered all questions we had during the process. They certainly are professionals and the finished product looks great. I thought it was going to be a messier project and I would have a lot of patching, but it was kept to a minimum and confined to the downstairs area. They did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone. Job well done,, Thanks again Jason, Tom and Brian, I think my wife can sleep a little easier knowing the electrical is update.

We could not have been more pleased with service from the initial contact with Brian for the quote to the installation by Shawn. We were re-configuring the layout of our kitchen which required having a new circuit installed and wiring run for a refrigerator as well as moving an outlet and rewiring a light switch. Since we were having this work done, we requested a quote to have ceiling fans/lights installed in 4 bedrooms although we were not sure if we were going to have this done at present time. Due to the reasonable quote from Brian, we decided to proceed with all the projects at once. Shawn showed up at the time promised to begin the work and Brian's time estimate was right on for how long it would take. Shawn was great about explaining anything I needed to know as a homeowner and even covering operation of the ceiling fans after installation. He was very neat with his work and cleaned up well afterward.

We were having problems with our chandelier going on and off, and an outlet on the same room (anything plugged into it flashed on and off, like the chandelier). He checked practically every outlet in the house; it turned out to be a different outlet in the same room, which he repaired. He was so good about moving furniture. Excellent service!

Very fast response to an immediate electrical problem needing to be fixed. Additional service was performed outside despite very cold weather. Excellent service and friendly. Would recommend!

I had a great experience with the estimator, the gentleman who set up my appointment, and the actual electrician who came out. Shawn came out early on the day after Christmas, and he worked non-stop four or five hours. He was very knowledgible and kept me informed about what he was doing the whole time. His work was very professional; it looks good and works great.

Excellent service. Charlie took my call on Father's Day and made sure the work was coordinated with our retaining wall contractor. This was above and beyond. I had every confidence that the work would be done well. I was right.

The electrician I worked with was very nice - seemed to really know what he was doing. His work was solid and consistent. That said, I my experience dealing with their administrative process was not that great. In fact, I was very troubled by it. There were two main concerns I had: 1) The service was about $500 more expensive than I had been quoted by other electricians. I went with Schaeffer, however, after seeing their above average reviews and the general friendliness of Brian Schaeffer himself. They worked with me on the price as well - knocking enough off that I was happy. (Note that I had to provide a detailed diagram of the room with specifics to get the reduced quote - something I thought of as odd given that they had been to my house already to do the initial quote.) 2) Apparently the city in which I live has code for a specific gauge of wiring which Schaeffer was not aware of and the city inspector rejected the work. Given the fact that they were coming across the river into an area they don't often work (and didn't charge me for it, I might add), I categorized this as an honest mistake. Let me be clear about this - I had no problem that the mistake was made. The issue came when trying to organize a return trip to fix the issue; there was no urgency on the part of Schaeffer's administrative staff to schedule another visit and then the visit had to be coordinated on their schedule, placing my own at a lower priority. I'm a busy guy too - I can only take off work to be at home on certain days; shouldn't the fact that it was Schaeffer's mistake have some bearing on how the scheduling to fix it should take place? I ended up waiting weeks rather than days to have it fixed and the only way I mitigated it that far was by going up the chain and speaking with Brian again.

It went great. I always deal with Brian Schaeffer. This is the 3rd electrical panel I've had them install in rehab/rental properties. I gave them a key to the house. They pulled the permit, insatlled the new panel and had it inspected. A week later Brant (electrician) met me at the house to install the kitchen outlets. There were a few issues on rounting the new lines and outlets. I had to cut tile and cut slots int he plaster wall for the new lines. While I was opening up the walls, Brant was in the basement running lines to the panel. When I was ready for him, he was right behind me getting his work done. As soon as he ran the lines, I was patching the walls, while he was hooking up the outlets. Before he left we checked everything out and everything is perfect. Last year I did about the same thing working with Josh. The guys that work for Schaeffer are great to work with. I've recommended Schaeffer to others and will continue to use them on any future work. They're the best.

The electrician that came out was very punctual and kind. Also fast.

We got 3 bids and found Schaeffer to be in the middle. However, 2 of the companies we contacted did not include the mast as they did not think it was necessary. They stated the code in our area was 10' but in reality it turned out to be 12' so Schaeffer got it right. Very professional and easy to schedule within a very reasonable window of time.

Johnathan Self was the electrician who did the work and it was done in an outstanding and professional manner. I'm a retired electrician and had all the wires marked and identified, so it made his job a little bit easier.

Our electricity was tripping off repeatedly throughout the day to the point that we were not able to turn the main breaker back on without waiting a significant period of time. We called at 5:30PM on a Saturday night and immediately reached Charlie who promised someone would call us shortly to arrange service. Within 15 minutes he called back and said someone would arrive within the hour. Dan arrived within 30 minutes, diagnosed the problem, replaced the main breaker and gave some helpful advice. He was professional, courteous, prompt and responsive. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Ed followed up to make sure things were ready for the job. Valerie then called to schedule the appointment with us, Ameren and the inspector. Dan and Shawn showed up on time and got right to work. Guys did an excellent job and even made some improvements to the plan. Work was finished in time and everything worked first test. Will definitely recommend Schaeffer Electric Company to others looking for quality work, done on time and within budget.

Estimate was reasonable, based on two estimates received. Service was prompt and on-time, electrician even cleaned up the area before he left. All work was professionally done. I was very satisfied with overall experience.
