They are very reliable and do great work. They rates are reasonable. They are the only company I use anymore. They are quick to respond. They are very professional.

Pulled them off the list and they came gave and estimate. They did the job within two days. They handled everything professionally.

Everything went very well. He knew exactly what to do. In two cases, I first had to order spare parts (ceiling fan light and switch in kitchen). He told me what I needed to order. I got it and within three weeks all the repairs were done. Very knowledgeable, very good execution, appropriate speed (I was astonished how fast he repaired it all). It seems that every two years we need someone to maintain our electrical system. We intend to use Schaeffer again.

Their pricing was way out of line. He wanted to know the price to everyone else's quote. I felt he tried to intimidate me to get the job. He kept calling and lowering price even after I told him I was going with another company.

They were prompt in sending somebody out for an estimate. They asked for a 50% deposit to schedule the service, which seemed pretty ambitious to me for a residential job without a time guarantee in the agreement. Fortunately, they take credit cards which I felt gave me some recourse. They appeared as scheduled. Installation of the main panel seems fine. They had agreed to provide me with a cable to connect my generator to their outside box. However, a cable wasn't left after the job. It took about another 2 weeks and multiple emails before one was delivered. It then became clear that the outdoor box was mounted so close to the ground that the cable couldn't plug into its underside. Additionally, the county inspector said that they needed to install an outdoor grounding rod for the generator. An email about these two issues was unanswered. After a week, I called them, and they scheduled somebody to do these two corrections. That team also appeared as scheduled, moved the box up a foot and installed the grounding rod. At this point, it became clear that the cable they'd delivered to me had the wrong plug. They took the cable back and promised me they'd be in touch about providing me with a new one. It's now been 4 days since that visit, and they have not contacted me. I have given up and ordered the cable myself.

They are very prompt and professional. They are very trustworthy folks, and I would recommend them to anyone.

The technician who performed the service was a bit rude and damaged an extremely expensive speaker during the process of the work. He also failed to clean up after himself and seemed perturbed that *I* was frustrated that he'd moved this huge speaker without asking permission and, in the process, had damaged it. The story has a happy ending because his supervisors were extremely apologetic and quickly compensated me for the repair of the speaker. I received an apology note from the owner! The management was great and they stand behind their work.

Our service man arrived on time and did the job beautifully. He was very pleasant.

They did a good job. It took some time to locate it, but they did a complete check of all plugs and outlets and resolved the problem.

Service call went great! The electrician fixed work my husband had (unsuccessfully) attempted, and showed us ways to check for problems that we could fix ourselves -- kitchen outlets that were actually functioning, but the safety breaker had tripped -- they didn't need to be fixed; an outlet in our living room had stopped working. He quickly figured out that the wall switch (that we never use) works that specific outlet. He never made us feel stupid for not realizing these things before calling a professional. Also, he discussed possible new projects with us, giving us labor/time estimates so we could decide if the cost would be worthwhile. I was so happy when I was able to get an appointment for the day after my initial call. Unfortunately I had to reschedule due to illness. The scheduler (Theresa) was so friendly & called the next day to make sure we were feeling well enough for our appointment. We will definitely use this company, and this specific electrician, again!

Jason arrived on time and went right to work. He replaced the lighting fixture on front porch with a new one we had already purchased. He then replaced a bad light holder in the basement. The cost seemed high (@ $90 an hour), but he did a good job.

When I first called company the receptionist was very nice and helpful. I told her of my time lines and she was ready and able to have electricians at my home the next morning. They would be ready before I was. Josh and John arrived on time. They were instructed of what the job entailed before arriving and were ready with their equipment. They worked very diligently and instructed us of every step they were performing. Once finished they tested each heater individually and cleaned up all mess even throwing away old heaters and boxes for new heaters.

They were efficient, but expensive.

They were awesome! I'll never use anyone else. The electrician was intelligent, helpful, and enormously skilled. The inspector knew him, and took his word when he said he had brought the kitchen up to code. I did not have to tear out the kitchen and re-do it, as the previous electrician had said. They obtained the U City permit the inspector had demanded, and satisfied him.

The guy that came out went above and beyond the call of duty.

The re-wiring was fine except that the bill included a 7.5% surcharge for "fuel". This charge was not explained when I contracted for service. When I called to complain, they offered to delete charge. I paid them the charge but explained that I resented this surcharge appearing on the bill without prior explanation. In general, I feel contractors ought to assume this risk or build it in to their basic fees. I've never heard of a reduced surcharge when the price of gasoline become cheaper.

I'm 100% pleased with Schaeffer. The girl was so nice when I called for an appointment to have the outage repaired. I was called when the man was on his way. He arrived when he said he would. He was so nice and eager to find the problem. It took three hours and he was conscientious and knowledgeable. He fixed the bad problems.

Kenny was prompt for the appointment and listened to me describe the project. He provided an estimate in a day or so. I corresponded with Kenny via email to confirm the light fixtures were appropriate before I purchased them. He went to the lighting stores website and compared the fixtures that I was considering and provided good advice on which to select. Because the lights were back-ordered we had to wait quite a while to begin work. But as soon as the lights arrived, Schaffer Electric scheduled the work right away. The installation was professional and on time. The work was done quickly and was a quality job.

In the first place, why didn't anyone call me, when they were not going to show up at the appointed time, regardless of why the appointment was made? I don't understand a company, that will not give an estimate, before starting work. I have another Angie's list electrician, coming for an estimate. After this experience, I called them to verify that they would give me an estimate and they assured me they would. This seems like a good way to get work, without being competitive. It is also, not a good idea to accuse people of not telling you something, that they did tell you and in an angry tone. I run a business and even if a customer has made a mistake in ordering, I would never speak to them in this manner. I always ask them how, I can make right.

Was disappointed Monday morning when the technician didn't show up at 7 AM as scheduled, unfortunately, it was my fault (gave them work instead of home number). The company owner had called and left a message. Rescheduled for Tuesday. The office called multiple times to see if other appointment times would work. Was pleased when the technician arrived before 7, was professional and impressed. He checked the circuit carefully, explained how he was fixing the problem, and checked a few other locations. Then he replaced the outlets we had removed and put them back in the outlet boxes.
