Description of Work: A/c not cooling. Saw company listed on Angie's List with a coupon for 15% off for repairs. I contacted company and a representative came on 06/07/2011. He did a check of my air conditioner and determined there was a leak in the system and I needed a coil replaced to correct the problem. I was given a quote for the work and we agreed on a date to have the wok done. I then showed him the coupon I had printed from Angie's List and he said he wasn't sure I could use it but he would check and let me know. The next day I received a call stating I couldn't use the coupon because they did not consider the work I needed repair but they considered it installation. When I questioned him as to how fixing (repairing) a problem could not be reason to honor the coupon, he was adamant that I could not use the coupon. I then agreed to have them do the work as scheduled but mentioned that I would be giving a report to Angie's List about my concern about the coupon. I was then told that if I planned to mention the coupon in my report, they would not do the work for me and he then canceled my work order.

Description of Work: We are on a maintenance contract with them. They come in twice a year to inspect our air conditioner and furnace. They have replaced both units. They are fine to work with. We have used them for 10 years. Whenever we need them they are there.

 + -1 moreWe love them. When I lived in my own condo, one time I couldn?t get my furnace to work. It was a simple fix and they didn't charge me. When our furnace went out the last time it was pretty chilly. They came out right away and have always been very professional.
Description of Work: They re lit the igniter on our furnace. For the last four or five years they have done twice annual service on our HVAC unit.

 + -1 moreIt was excellent work. I wouldn't use anybody else. They are very nice people. They are very expertised. Nothing ever goes wrong and I never have problems that others do. I cannot say enough nice things. They are wonderful. They are more like friends.

 + -1 moreSatisfactory OVERALL EXPERIENCE. GENERAL MANAGER CAME OUT TO REVIEW THE WORK, THEIR TECHNICIAN USED ADVANCED EQUIPMENT TO FIND A CRACK IN MY HEAT EXCHANGER. PLEASED WITH THE EXPERIENCE SO FAR. But I have since found duct work was very dirty in spots upon further inspection a few months after the initial cleaning. Holes were made in the duct work by the company in the cleaning process. Several of the holes were not repaired or covered appropriately. Finally, the major technician who was supposed to be conducting the cleaning went to the hardware store for about 2.5 hours, leaving a very inexperienced technician to complete about 75% of the duct cleaning.

They checked both the inside and outside units, cleaned them as necessary and told us the units are in good shape. They also told us about their annual package, so we can have them look at he furnace in the fall. The package is a good cost savings for the work performed.

 + 0 moreWe used Schraut originally to replace our heating and air system a while back. We were having a problem with the air not cooling and blowing warm air so we called them out to look at it. As it turns out, they found we had an electrical problem and not and AC problem. While they were out, they did their check-up and cleaning. They came out the same day I called, do great work. I like that they don't try and over sell me on things I don't need.
Description of Work: We had them come out to do our bi-annual AC service which includes the cleaning and over all check-up.

 + -1 moreJust fine. I have been a happy customer of R. F. Schraut since 1986. Ive always had a maintenance contract with them, and Ive never had a problem with my heating or cooling system. The Schrauts are like family friends, and Jim, who always does the work at my house, is not only outstanding for his expertise, but his professional and friendly personality. The maintenance is top notch, and the cost is fair. I wouldnt consider any other company. They make me feel very secure. I said "0" cost because I have a maintenance contract.
Description of Work: The representative inspected my air conditioning system, checked all the parts. They washed out the condenser; prepared it for summer.
