Kirkwood Heating & Air Conditioning

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. They did a good job and they came on time. I didn't spend any additional.

They came out and they checked it out. Everything went fine. They didn't charge us any more than we needed to. They just said that it was just a hot summer, that was all. The service was what we were expecting. They came out when they were supposed to. We would use them again if they had a coupon.

They were refusing to honor the original details of the big deal purchase. I had to forward the details to them twice before they would believe me. I did not appreciate the way their office treated this situation. They made something simple difficult and did not trust me.

Professional and on time, installed entire new system in one day, everything is working great.

Excellent reliable service. Mr. Vitt was prompt, professional. Did a great job installing the humidifier which is a lengthy job because it's a bypass humidifier. Charged what we had agreed on up front. All-in-all a very pleasant experience.

I moved into a new home the end of December only to find that the condensating furnace was draining to the outside - which meant that it was freezing - I had to keep pouring hot water on it, etc. I called several companies connected to my home warranty and the original furnace installer and none of their solutions made sense as they all suggested keeping it outside. Then I called Kirkwood Heating, whom I'd used several years before. The repair person offered me two good solutions to choose from. He ended up connecting a new drain hose of copper tubing and running it properly INSIDE the house. He was smart, quick, honest, and efficient.

I called Kirkwood heating and cooling as soon as I found I needed a new vent pipe. They got a technician out the same day - actually sooner than they had anticipated. He (Taylor) quickly sized up the problem and went to get the proper sized part(s). He returned quickly and repaired the vent to code, and moved the venting the proper distance from the dry wall, which it wasn't prior the repair. Also, the price for the total bill was very reasonable. I'm not often pleasantly surprised when it comes to dealing with electricians, plumbers, hvac, etc., but I was this time. Good job folks. I'm glad I did business with you.

They serviced our boilers to make sure they are ready for winter.

This company was great. I called to just have the furnace checked. No one had ever told me the motor & fly wheel needed cleaned. I was amazed at the amount of dirt that came out. My thermostat was able to be moved away from the TV and changed to a digital one. Tyler was professional and very knowledgeable. I learned more about my furnace than I had in all the years I've had one. My house is nice and toasty, the furnace runs so much better and quieter and I've been able to drop the temperature 4-5 degrees. I am sure I will see energy savings. I would highly recommend Kirkwood Heating & Air Conditioning, and will absolutely use them again!

The above is not the concern..I thought long an hard about complaining about a company but Im stil SO upset about it. I think a company that is listed as #1 should earn that honor and they didnt with me..After giving them a trial I had them come out to just do my regular heating inspection for winter on my two heaters...I dont know why I didnt call Vogel since they have been with me for 15 years and are wonderful, but I thought it wouldnt be a bad idea to have another company know my systems.. the guy came in with an attitude from the beginning..he was downstairs for a few minutes and yelled at me to come down and said "you have a BIG PROBLEM HERE and I have to condem your heater.. he said there is a crack in it and if I didnt get a new heater right away I would die. He scared me to death...he made me put my finger on the "crack" but it could not be seen. he looked at my other heater and said it would take 400-500 bucks to take it apart but he was SURE there was a crack in it as well and he said I needed two new air condictioners s well..then he went out to where the heater was vented and said that the gas co would enver approve it and he would have to take PVC pipe and have it come out of the front of my beautiful home...I was at this point crying and hystercial..I called the owner of the company and he says "this guy finds cracks when no one else can"...Now I know why..alot of ladies out ther problaby have new heaters..thank God my boyfriend came home and then his entire attitude changed...But, he still said I needed new heater which was over 3,000 bucks and would have to revent the entrire system and it would be over 10k for 2 new heaters and a/c...I told him I was getting a second opinion.. Vogel came out with a camera and the crack he had me rub was nothing but rust...he did move the camera back much further and did find a hairline crack in the heater which he said would need to be addressed..he said I did not have a crack in the other heater and did not need two new a/c's and the venting would be fine...He also said the heater Kirkwood wanted to sell me would have never worked in my home! So, it cost me 1,900.00 as opposed to 10k and the city came out and approved it all. how many other women got talked into new heaters by a supposed "crack"...PLEASE get a second opinion and dont let these guys scare you into buying anything like they tried to with me..it was a horrible experience and they should be ashamed of themselves for trying to take advantage of a single Mother who was only saved when her boyfriend came in and Vogel to the rescue! I was literally shaking and crying after this guy left my home..dont ever let them do that to you! Update:Interestingly after the city has approved the heat work, the city received a report from an unknown caller that a vent was not installed properly. Without saying any names, you can figure who that caller was.

It turned out great! I don?t believe there were any additional charges with the Big Deal. They explained everything to our satisfaction. My husband was impressed with the work they did and the product. ******* During a cold snap in January, my furnace stopped working. I called Superior Heating and Cooling, who installed the furnace years ago. They quickly diagnosed the problem. Kirkwood Heating had plumbed the drain from the humidifier into a condensation pump that pumped summertime condensation to the outside. Using it for a wintertime purpose caused the line to freeze, perforating the line, causing the condensate pump to fill up and turn off the furnace. This is the kind of mistake you hire a professional to avoid. It was a good price, but now I'm disappointed.

I called this morning because furnace wasn't functioning properly--no heat. I was not given an exact appointment time, but was told someone would be out today and they would work around my schedule. Received call before noon that the repairman was on his way. He arrived within 10 minutes of the call, was courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate, performed the repair and applied the coupon found on Angie's List to my bill. He was probably in the house no more than 30 minutes. I will definitely use them in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great. They showed up when they were supposed to and did what I asked them to do. They did it in a timely manner. I spent additional money because it needed more Freon that what the deal contained. I felt like the guy was being honest and the work had to be done.

My experience with them was okay. The guy came in, diagnosed the problem with my air-conditioner and said it was the control unit on the wall. I asked him about the tune up and he said that was it. I think the guy did not understand what was expected of him and treated it like a service call and not for a tune-up.

Kirkwood Heating and Cooling did what they said they were going to do. Got there on time and cleaned unit. Would use them again.

The person that came was very friendly and go right to work checking the AC unit. He inspected and cleaned the outside portion quickly and let us know that everything was fine. It was worth the money for the peace of mind that the AC will work in the summer.

Kirkwood Heating started out very professional, helpful but their quote to repair the unite was over $700 higher than the competition.

We have had quite a bit of work done this year, and we were getting very tired of shopping around. We planned to go with the first company we called, expecting the job to cost between 1,500. to 2,000. When the first company's estimate came in at 2,600., we decided to get one more estimate and called Kirkwood Heating and Air Conditioning. They sent a guy out the next day, and he gave us an estimate later that day. Not only was their bid 1,400. less than the first company, we were impressed by their professionalism. We were even happier when they were able to come out right away. On the scheduled day, they showed up right on time, worked hard all day and cleaned up their mess when they were done. Everyone who worked on the job were professional and courteous. When the work was done, they gave us a walk through to make sure we were satisfied. It was a great experience, and we will definitely recommend them.

Unit is relatively new. Technician performed expected tasks, but didn't change filter - even though there were 3 new filters stacked right next to the furnace

It went well, he checked the level of refrigerant and cleaned the air conditiioner.

The services provided by Kirkwood Heating & Air Conditioning were okay. They were pretty straightforward with me, which was nice. I probably would have liked a refund or something, given that I didn't really get to use the value of the $62.00 I paid for the Big Deal. They weren't really out there super long, but I don't really have anything bad to say about them.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. Everything was fine. We paid extra because there was something else wrong other than the deal. They did take the coupon too. They didn't do what they were supposed to do for the Big Deal because they found another problem. Had we known what the problem was, we would have probably found somebody cheaper. My husband dealt with them and he was satisfied. We would probably get an estimate from them in the future.

The work turned out great. They were on time and their business office was quite knowledgeable and helped in dealing with the home warranty company. They were also very responsive.

They came out last 22nd of August and the service was awful. The guy came out and look at my air-conditioner and told me it was broken and it's only six years old. He thinks I need to just replace the compressor instead of the whole system. He tried to fix it and the air compressor was locked out so I need a new. I said that I would get a second opinion and I called someone else and they came out and they took it apart and they fix it and everything is perfect.
