Kirkwood Heating & Air Conditioning

Kirkwood has always been on time, polite, dependable, friendly and fair. Kayla calls me every spring and fall for a clean and check. They worked for years to keep my first AC running until I could afford replacement. (This is the third in this house.) This time was no exception. The trucks rolled up to the house on time and Tyler and Gary got right to work. They patiently answered my curious son's many questions and did not leave until water heater, air conditioner and heater were running perfectly. When they left six hours later, there was no evidence they had ever been there, except for the spotless new units. Kirkwood has always been honest and answers my questions without sales tactics; instead they tell me if work is unnecessary.

It's a fairly new air conditioner, they didn't really do a whole lot. They have the warranty on our air conditioner.

They were fine. I'd give them a "B" overall and I would use them again.

Electrical problems in HVAC system (installed years ago by a different vendor) as 120v power was shorted into a 24v circuit led to cascading problems. I called KHAC after the a/c failed and I detected a strong smell of ozone. The technician came out the next day (Saturday) and diagnosed the problem, though he did not have the parts to complete a repair. The technicians came out on the following Wednesday to complete the work. They were prompt, efficient, thoroughly explained what they found and what they were doing, and cleaned up the site well. KHAC's price is not the lowest in town, but their work is good. The St Louis County inspector was complimentary of the work quality. I'd hire them again.

Very prompt service fixed our problem right away. No attempt to up-sell but very knowledgeable technician explained how to avoid problems in future.

I was very impressed. We are scheduling them to actually replace the unit later this week.

There were several different options ranging from $3,000 to $11,000. We needed to do something sooner rather. They have been very responsive all along, calling and following up. I have been calling them and they have been addressing any questions I have.

This was a big deal purchase. It was excellent. I have used them again. They were timely and explained exactly what they were doing. They needed to add more Freon and were very fair in pricing. They charged above the price of the big deal for the Freon. It was about $150 additional, but it was laid out ahead of time.

Great - Kirkwood representative very nice and professional. Did a thorough jobs of checking my outside unit and replaced the insulation on one of the lines. Checked inside unit, filter, drain line, etc. and said everything checked out ok.

They were prompt and were able to quickly fix the AC.

Technician was on time for scheduled appt. He checked the HVAC system and cleaned the coil. The system was in good shape and running efficiently.

The service technician was very professional in resolving the issue the same day I called. I would highly recommend Kirkwood Heating and Cooling.

I called the office late afternoon about my nonfunctioning a/c fully expecting to be told that I would be without service until at least the next day. I was very happy when the woman informed me that someone would be at my house that evening. She called me back when Gary was on his way to my home. Gary got to work and quickly diagnosed the problem and told me the cost of the repair. Within 30 minutes my a/c was working once again.

I purchased a deal on Angie's list for 49.00 for either heating or cooling service call. I set up the appointment online and received a quick response. Office staff very friendly and knowledgeable. On the day of the appointment I received a call from the office stating that Tyler was on his way. He showed up within the time frame given. Tyler was friendly and he got right to work. I had just purchased a condo and needed the air conditioner to be checked and cleaned. He said everything looked great and just needed a good cleaning. I asked him a few questions regarding the thermostat and he helped me understand how it worked. Everyone was great. I would use Kirkwood heating and cooling in the future.

The scheduling and general installation went smoothly. However, unbeknownst to me at the time, the installer had taken a shortcut with the install (tapping into an existing copper pipe over the water heater) that was a code violation. This was noticed by another professional when we had the water heater replaced a few months later. When I contacted Kirkwood, they apologized and agreed to either come and correct the install or pay for the new professional to do so. I felt that was an adequate response, but would have never known about the code violation unless this other professional was brought in.

I wouldn't use them again Their price was fair. He was ready to tell me everything he thought was wrong with the brand new system, how cheap it was and how much it was going to cost to make it right. The cost to make it right was ridiculous. He was just looking to make money and I didn't appreciate that. He did what he came to do. He left a bad taste in my mouth.

Maintenance was great, on time, and friendly!

Our furnace wasn't blowing out hot air. I called Kirkwood Heating and Air Conditioning around 9:45 a.m. and the friendly office person said they would be out between 10 and 12 the same morning! The service technician was here within the hour and was very professional and quickly replaced our ignitor with a higher quality product to avoid future problems. Our furnace is now working!

It was okay. I guess I was expecting it to be more but they did exactly what was supposed to be. They seemed to be a little expensive for what it was. It worked. I don't know what I was expecting. It just seemed like sort of been more thorough but it was probably exactly what it was supposed to be. They didn't really respond in a timely manner. I had to call and remind them that I was waiting for the appointment. The guy that came out was good. I would not use them again because they were too expensive.

The AC was broken. KHAC could not deliver a new system for a week. They tried to get the old AC working by replacing a capacitor; it worked for a few hours. Another installer, Total Comfort, was able to come right away to install a Comfortmaker for a cost $1,000 less expensive. We are very pleased with the Comfortmaker.

Just fine. No complaints. The bi-yearly check-up service has been a good deal, & I've been happy with every visit.

We've had several HVAC companies in the past few years, and Kirkwood Heating & Cooling was definitely the most honest, professional, and fair we've dealt with. No questions they will be who we use from now on.

We went with Kirkwood Heating & AC due to their high rating on Angie's List and their price (lowest of the three we received). Chris, the estimator, was professional and courteous when he gave us the bid. The technicians, Steve and Kevin, who installed the unit today were also professional and courteous. They arrived on time, worked quickly and neatly, and installed the new Carrier unit, moving it from one side of the house to the other. Everything went very well. We would recommend this company.

Service was good with Tyler that came, the only problem is we did not get our free filter that came with the deal.
