Kirkwood Heating & Air Conditioning

I was really pleased with how quickly they got someone to come and take a look (the next afternoon). There was a significant amount of water leaking onto the floor and I was worried about mold growth. Andrew showed up on time and was very pleasant and professional. He cleaned the system and checked everything out. Andrew also gave me some suggestions about updating the system and some rough estimates for the future. I'm always wary of the trade industry but feel very comfortable that I was dealt with honestly. I can rest easy now because I won't hesitate to call Kirkwood Heating and Air when I need work done in the future.

We received an honest evaluation of the condition of our existing a/c unit and decided to replace it. We had worked with Kirkwood Heating and Air in the past and found them to be honest, reliable, technically competent, and professional. They arrived on time, replaced exactly what we contracted for and charged us exactly what the estimate stated. A week or so after the install, the a/c cut out and Andrew immediately traced it to a bad circuit breaker in our main panel. He didn't have one on hand, but came back the following morning (at exactly the time he said he would) and replaced the breaker for a very reasonable charge. We have had no issues since then. Kirkwood Heating and Air are our "go-to" guys for all heating and a/c issues. I highly recommend them.

It is a small privately owned company, and I have used them for years. They are very dependable, and since I am their regular customer, I guess I am on their preferred list. If the furnace in the winter or the air conditioner in the summer were to go out, they would be out here the next day or so; if it is for a regular checkup, I have to wait about five weeks to be scheduled, which is not a problem. They take good care of their customers, and their price is competitive. I have not needed any repairs for five years or something like that. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future; in fact, I have an appointment in the next couple of weeks for the annual checkup.

He had to do some minor repairs and he was very good. I would recommend him to anybody.

Arrived a few minutes early, introduced himself and id as well. Explained the problem that we could smell gas at the fireplace. investigated, found leak, checked fitting, repaired and replaced as needed. Very nice tech, with good knowledge and a supportive representative of his company. Would certainly use them again for any further service needed in our home.

No problems. This is my first experience with them, so far, so good. The tech, Andrew, showed me how to install the humidifier filter (and which part number to buy) so I can do it myself next time for less.

The serviceman (Chris) did not seem happy to make the call, but he did come in a timely manner. Once here, he reported that the "freon" was very low, and that to charge the unit might be costly. It was Sunday, and Monday was a holiday, so it would be at least Tuesday before it could be fixed, so I had him go ahead, with no idea how much was needed, or how much "costly" meant. I knew that week-end calls were time and 1/2, and that was fine, but when I found out that the "freon" was also being replaced at 1 1/2 cost, I was not happy, because I had no way of knowing what the original cost was, or how much would be necessary. My A/C unit is only 3 1/2 years old and had been highly rated. The serviceman(Andrew) who inspected the unit and found the leak was very nice. He explained what had to be done, and listened to my frustration about the cost of the "freon". A supervisor whose name I did not get called in regard to the cost problem, but did not make any changes after hearing my complaint. He said that the local business can replace parts under warranty, but must charge for labor. He did not explain why I should be charged 1 1/2 cost for "freon" that had been leaked through a faulty coil. The only concession he made was to charge nothing for replacing the coil. The same serviceman (Andrew) replaced the leaking coil at no further charge. He did not give me a warranty for the new coil, so I do not know whether I can expect the same problem and have no warranty in the future. All 3 men that I talked to were very guarded about taking responsibility for the charges. They were simply "following orders from above."

They did a great job. They were really efficient and they were reasonably priced. They followed up nicely.

We decided to go with a different company that was through our home warranty. It was just cheaper to go through our warranty.

They were wonderful! They had to redo a bunch of pipes and things because of the new technology. They did the necessary duct work that had to be done as well. We were very happy with their work, it has worked very well for us.

For both jobs the office crew was responsive and courteous. The man that they sent to our house worked efficiently, did great work, was friendly and cleaned up his mess. He explained what he was going to do and then did it. He was also very careful to make holes in our drywall as few places as possible. We are very happy with their work.

They were on time and were thorough and left the unit in good working condition.

On time, the guy that came out was very good. When they were done - I left and then came back and my house was cold. I called them, left a message, they called back in 10 minutes. He had forgotten to flip the switch on the side of the furnace. Very responsive, they were great.

They always show up on time and return my phone calls. They are very professional and I have been using them for quite a while. They always give honest opinions and they do not do unnecessary jobs. I would recommend them.

Kirkwood Heating and Cooling did an excellent job. They left no mess behind and also gave us enough information so we knew what the problem was and what was needed. They also came on time.

We use their service for our maintenance checks yearly to make sure the system works properly. They are a very reliable and honest company, which we like. Their technicians are knowledgeable and professional. They also have reasonable pricing and come out anytime we need them to.

Three guys showed up in uniforms, 2 trucks with all the supplies. They were polite cautious with floor and surroundings. They really knew what they were doing and didn't waste time. Pressure test the system for leaks. Discovered 1 leak on stove after TracPipe installed. Previous owner 14 years ago installed gas stove and neglected to put pipe dope on the joint, now slowly leaking all these years. They fixed it & tested system again. Finally I've NO MORE LEAKS! Hydrogen sulfide has a strong odor of rotten eggs at low concentrations and a sweetish odor at higher locations. Odor should not be used as a warning of exposure since at concentrations of (20-30 parts per million) hydrogen sulfide may deaden the sense of smell by paralyzing the respiratory center of the brain and olfactory nerve. Inhalation of low concentrations may cause headache, dizziness, and upset stomach. Worse in winter when house closed tight and furnace running. 20% of older homes may have leaks. Get yours checked out!

Excellent customer service from the first time they picked up the phone to the last inspection. Everyone I spoke with was courteous and went out of their way to accommodate last-minute scheduling and problems caused by 'governmental communication gaps.' The technician was on-time, knowledgeable, efficient, and patient with my 99 questions. I have no reservations about recommending this company to others and will continue to use them for my residence and investment properties.

Checked out the problem, gave estimate, returned next morning with part and completed work in 15 minutes.

Air Conditioner went out on a very hot Saturday morning in July. They came out quickly and repaired our air conditioner. The technician even cleaned the condenser coil at no extra charge.

They were courteous, showed up on time and cleaned up. I would definitely hire them again.

Great job! Mark really knows his stuff. We had another bid from another recommended company that came in around $8500, and after a VERY thorough design, Mark presented us with a proposal for MUCH less, that utilized out existing infrastructure perfectly. His employees were very professional and even fixed a few other things above and beyond the original estimate at no additional charge. The work was done in 2 days with minimal disruption or destruction and the results have been great.

Horrible. I would not recommend this company at all. I feel they were dishonest. I would never use this company again.
