I am a repeat customer and proud of it! I called Vern on 6/28 and requested their proposal. He was still the professional that I remembered. Vern arrived on the same day; wrote up the proposal and left it in my mailbox. We set a date of 7/7/10. Having used their service before, I felt comfortable going to work and allowing them to work unattended. They did not disappoint. He arrived at the requested time and brought along 4 other guys. This was a very large tree that grew between power lines and surrounded by detached garages and property. K V successfully navigated cutting the tree down without a single issue. I spoke to my neighbors who watched the cutting unfold [as neighbors always do!]. They remarked about KV covered up my garage windows with plywood, downed power and cable lines. They were just real professional. Clean up was good but could have been slightly better. They moved my bird bath but didn't replace it and left broken straps in the yard. No biggie but, that's was there. Overall, I would use these guys again if I had more trees to down. Take a look at the video, it speaks volumes about the height of the tree. Kudos to K V! My experience was a little bit abovce average. They came when they said they were. They dented my siding from my house. They paid me to get that repaired.

Came immediately monday morning 15 minutes early and was done by noon. They did an excellent job and I recommended them to my insurance company to give out as a contact. Great work at a great price!

When the man came out to look at the trees and to give me a bid, he listened to me and what I wanted done. I really appreciated this. When he came back to do the work he did the work exactly as I had asked and when he was done he checked with me to see if I was happy. He came out the day I called to provide the estimate. He was very punctual and professional. I would highly recommend them.

Great experience for the price. They don't give much advanced notice of when they'll begin the job (knock on the door that morning), but they get straight to work and don't waste any time. Ken and his group worked quickly and were flexible with adding a few extra jobs (some deadwooding and an additional stump grind). The work was done quickly and clean-up was performed per my expectations. My only complaints 1) little advanced notice and 2) cigarette butts in the yard are insignificant in my mind when compared to the quality of work completed for the great price. Without hesitation I'd again go with KV Tree Service for any tree work needed on my property.

It went very well. I got 2 other bids but chose them. hey did a great job trimming locust and oak trees and cleaned up everything.

We called them and Kevin came out and gave us the estimate on the same day. It was significantly lowest price compared to others. We delayed it for a week. They came out the day and the time they said they would be there. They completed the job. They did a good job.

The person who came to give me the estimate was very nice and professional. He gave me a 10% discount on the quote as I?m a member of Angieslist.

I called them up and the guy came out on time like he said. He gave me a nice estimate and was really professional. He did not hit any wires or destroy anything. He cleaned up well after himself and did a fantastic job. He did all this work in just an hour and a half.

Fantastic - came next day when called for an estimate - a month later when I made up my mind (after getting 4 other bids - KV was the lowest and recommended by my neighbor), I called and they came out the next morning to do the work. Ken was responsive to my needs + had no problem with the additional small requests I asked for. Crew was professional and did a great clean up.

The men were friendly and very polite. They all worked well together and knew exactly what to do. It was a neat experience seeing the tree taken down. It was a larger tree than it appeared and had a lot of dying branches on it. These guys knew their jobs well and did them very well.

Ken and his team are fast and do a great job. He was a straight shooter and basically told me what needed work and what didn't and I appreciated his truthfulness. The trees look great and our yard/driveway is spotless after the work.

I heard about them from Angie s list. The experience turned out to be good because they were here the first thing in the morning; they did a lot of work that needed to be done. If you need to get a hold of them, just call their cell phone and they will be here. They are fast and they cleaned up the area. The project went fair. The price was reasonable.

During the big electrical storm of late July, 2006 (the one that took out power for four days in some parts of the St. Louis metro area), lightning struck a beautiful old pin oak outside my home. The tree stood within ten feet of the house, and the lightning hit it and made a knife-like slice from top to bottom--it was that narrow a mark. A tree expert told me at the time that lightning boils the cells it affects, so that there would be some dead tissue in the tree. Only time would reveal whether the tree would die. The tree did its best to survive, and even last summer had nearly a complete canopy of leaves. But, it was easy to tell that half the trunk tissue was dead, and it wasn't safe to leave the tree in place. I took a number of estimates for the work, one as high as around $3000. KV had the lowest estimate, and great reviews on this list, so I picked this company. The initial phone contact was good. I described the work, and the contact person promised to look at the job and give me an estimate. Within a few days he called back with the price. I asked him to go ahead, as his was the last estimate I got, and the lowest. There was some bad weather that delayed the job a bit, but it was done within two weeks. The company completely and safely removed the tree, leaving no debris and no tracks in my yard (the ground was frozen so that helped). KV also removed the stump and filled in the hole, not skimping on soil--the ground is completely level. If you were not familiar with the property you would never know a tree had been there.

I received a quote the day after I called and requested a bid. I hired them over the phone and the work was completed the following day. The did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, very efficient.

They were great. They gave a reasonable estimate. They did a nice job of clean up afterwards. I would recommend booking them sooner rather than later because they are busy.

They provided a fair estimate and did the work exactly on time. A week later, an additional large branch fell spontaneously in a small windstorm. They came by and removed the branch without charge on the day we called.

KV Tree Service arrived on time and finished the job in less than 6 hours. They were quick, efficient and cleaned up all debris. This was a tricky job - both trees were 50+ feet and located in close proximity to our house and the neighbor's house. KV did an excellent job and were by far the lowest estimate - well worth the money!

K V gave a free written estimate within two days of my initial phone call. They got to the job in about a week. There were a total of about five men who showed up to the job. They worked quickly and efficiently and finished the job in under an hour. My only complaint is that when I talked to them initially they said they would get to the job the following week, but call me a day ahead of time to let me know they were ready to come. They just showed up one day and did the job. That worked because I happened to be home but I suppose that it could have been a problem.

Got an estimate within two days of request. They where less then 1/2 and 1/3 of the other estimates I received. Once I give them the job; they did the work within one week. They did a clean job and everything was done as I wanted.

Tree growing too close to house with roots damaging foundation and patio. Limbs hanging over power & phone lines. Ken came out a day after I called and immediately phone me with estimate on work needed. The estimate was in range of what I expected and cheaper than some estimates I had received. I had stated that I wanted the trunk and major limbs left behind so I could buck up and save for firewood. He and his crew came on the day scheduled and performed a very clean and professional job. Not only did he leave the wood behind but he cut the trunk and limbs to 2 foot lengths and stacked them neatly at the site. The tree was brought down without hitting any overhead lines, the trunk was ground and removed, the scrap ground and the mulch neatly piled on the hole where the stump had been. The whole area was cleaned up nicely.

I called and asked for an estimate on our tree trimming. They returned my call promptly, set up an appointment and arrived on time to give an estimate. I ended up going with another company, but service from KV was good.

They came when they said they would. They were very professional.

I called K-V and promptly received a return call from Ken. He came to my home for a free estimate at the agreed upon date and time. I was getting other estimates so I did not hire him at that time; however once I spoke to other services, all of whom gave me bids that were much higher, I decided to go with K-V. Ken even gave me a 5% discount because I'm a member of Angie's List! I was pleasantly surprised that the work could be completed within a few days of my call. Ken and his crew came at the date and time promised and completed the work in a few hours time. They were very pleasant and worked carefully, putting down boards on the lawn between my house and my neighbor's on which their trucks could drive without destroying the grass. They used a cherry-picker and ropes to control the falling tree limbs. Ken worked particularly diligently at removing the stumps of the yew hedge so that I will be able to plant in that location. They removed all of the tree materials, and raked and used a blower on the area to clean up any leftover debris. During the initial part of the job, Ken had to move an old swing set out of the way of one of the trees; he then graciously agreed to move the swing set (with its concrete footings) to the street for me, and even got the slide from the swing set out of my garage rafters, so that I could have the whole thing hauled away. I thought Ken and his crew were awesome and I would certainly hire them again.

We have used KV Tree before. Timely written estimate, good work and good clean-up.
