Very pleased with the cost and the service they preformed. The guys cleaned up after they were done and put everything back. Our chimney needed the majority of the repair but also fixed the brick ledge on most of the window along with some areas on the house. More than expected and very happy with the end results. Will use them again

The estimator was prompt and courteous and wrote out the bid on the spot. After we agreed to the price he scheduled the work promptly and showed up with the crew to make sure they knew exactly what was to be done. The work was done quickly and professionally and the crew thoroughly cleaned up after they were finished. I would not hesitate to hire this company again.

They would be on my list to call when we need tuckpointing or other masonry work in the future.

The best part - they actually repaired the crap work the previous owner had done. They fixed individual bricks within the chimney. It looks great. You would never know how bad it originally looked. I felt the price was fair. The work was excellent. It took about three days. I like that on their website they list addresses where they have performed work. I drove past one of the houses in my neighorhood. I talked to the owner who showed me the work. He had a much taller chimney than us but he had the same issues - a rebuild at the top and spot care throughout. They did great work on his chimney.I would highly recommend them!

In 2008 we requested an estimate for the same work but had to refuse their proposal for $1350. because of the recession. We couldn't afford it. At that time they responded quickly and professionally. This fall finances were better so I called them back. On 10-24-11 I requested an estimate to make the repairs, the stone work being worse now because it was three years later. On 10-27-11 I received a written proposal for $1650. which I accepted. On 10-29-11 they gave me a follow up call to explain the proposal. He said the work would take one day to complete with a full crew, would be done three weeks from then, that they would call me the day before. That is exactly what they did. The work was done 11-23-11, quickly, neatly, promptly, as promised. They cleaned up all the loose stone, removed all the debris, didn't block my driveway, polite, pleasant. The stone wall, stairway, and round planter look as good as new, which was back in 1953. One week later I received a handwritten note thanking us for our business and asking for our repeat business. It was a very pleasant experience working with them.

They were great and my husband was thrilled with the job. They are very professional and I will use them again in the future.

The work was high-quality and they did it very quickly. We would definitely use them again.

We have had a long standing problem with moisture into an upstairs wall right in the vicinity of the descending chimney. We had the cap replaced a year ago, but on recent inspection it was already cracked and not fully covered. Hopefully, this time the new cap will prevent any further moisture from working it's way down. I think Galati did a good job as the cap is solid, thick, and more permanent in design. In my situation, only time will tell, as I will need to keep an eye on our moisture issue. If it continues, then I have to assume it is the flashing or a shingle issue.

They gave me a handwritten estimate which was illegible and I had to make a few calls to their representative, Jimmy, to clear things. He was not detailed and didn’t represent things pictorially. They were very professional and responsive. They followed up well with the bid and I will consider them in future.

I had a positive experience with them. The quality of their work was good. We did have to wait for them to get started and they started the work about a week later. But, when they did the work, everything was done very professionally.

The finished porch looks great. The representative from the company was professional. The men who did the work were quick and clean. We had previously had someone repair our porch only to have it fall apart again. I feel this was a job well done that should last for a while. It took a little longer than I would have liked for the work to be completed after the contract was signed, but that was also due to inclement weather in the spring.

They were very good about following up to see if I had any questions. They called me three times shortly thereafter to find out if I had any questions. At first, I did not but then I called them back and said that I had a question. They gave me an answer. I went and checked it out and then I stopped by to see them three days after our last conversation. They spent probably half an hour with me discussing things. I thought that they were very professional. I signed the contract. I am now just waiting to get higher up on the list.

The estimator was very professional, friendly and quick to respond to our call. I am a first time homeowner and went with Galati because our inspector recommended them. The bid seemed a bit high, but I trusted them upon this recommendation. The man who scheduled the work and did all of the phone contact was very polite and professional. The office staff was also very friendly. I had very little contact with the work crew, but at one point I had been out on a walk with my daughter and stopped to introduce myself while they were standing out on the sidewalk. I offered them a drink and access to the restroom (if needed). They just stared at me blankly and wouldn't really respond. It was very awkward. The work they did was acceptable, but not stellar. I have another tuckpointer looking to do a larger project at my house and he has pointed out a number of areas that they did some pretty sloppy work. This is disappointing. In the end, and after looking at comparable jobs here on Angie's List, I feel like we paid too much for the job.

I had seen some of the work they had done in my neighborhood and called them for an estimate they were very professional. They came on time and communicated with me very clearly what they were going to do. Once I asked them to do the job, they told me exactly when they could start and how long it would take them to complete the job. The outside work was very dusty and and they were very considerate of my neighbors and their property as well. They washed down the neighbors house every day and were very clean in a very difficult work environment. They went above and beyond with the foundation work in the basement and gave me excellent recommendations for maintaining the foundation

They wanted to charge $550.00. I knocked them down to $500.00 and once I saw the work I was not willing to pay anything. This was the poorest work I have ever seen. The owner came out and never conceded that it was a bad job. They did work on the top of the pillars that they were not supposed to do. He was very worried about his A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and wanted me to sign something in regard to not filing a complaint. I had all hispanics and they did not know what I was trying to tell them.

The quote was for $5000. They installed window. The quote was a little high, but it was not unreasonable. The staff seems friendly. He is responsive and punctual.

Most of it went well. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the grouting color match. I let them know and they redid part of the job but it really was not any better than the color that was done in the first place. Part of it was on the sidewalk and the other part was on the brick on my house.

They were timely, efficient, friendly and competent. I was completely satisfied.

The brick on my front porch had cracked during the harsh winter, I called Galati about getting an estimate. Bill Onken, the estimator, came out within a few days to give me an estimate. The work was scheduled the following week. They did a beautiful job; my porch looks like new.

Watching Galati tuckpointers doing painstaking work on some of the hottest days of the summer gave me a new appreciation for their skill and persistence! It is also a messy process, but at the end of each day's work, dust and materials were hosed down with care. The appearance of my home ( as well as its structural strength) has been greatly improved.

Their price was good. They did a good job with the tuckpointing and the bricking on the front porch but the caulking they did near the house was very sloppy. I had gotten a couple of prices and theirs was pretty good.

Galati and Sons gave a much lower estimate than I had received from another company, and the quality of their work was great.

It was very good. They responded to me very quickly. They gave me the bids right away and they were very professional. They were very competitively priced.

We had a significant amount of tuckpointing that was required on our home. The work they did blended exceptionally well with the old mortar. Only someone who was really looking could find the spots. This is not an easy task on older brick to get this to match so well. They showed up on time and when the weather didn't permit work we were always notified. Not only did they do exactly what they promised, but went a little furthur. In addition we had them seal the brick to help avoid future issues. All in all we were satisifed with the work and would recommend them to a friend.
