Galati & Sons Tuckpointing

About 6 people come and look at my crumbling retaining wall. None of them gave me the confidence that Galati and Sons gave me. Real professional. Didn't tell me what they thought I wanted to hear. They were up front and straight to the point. They sent a crew over within a couple of weeks and did the job in one day. They came back few few days later and reinforced the posts along the top of the wall. they also followed up within 30 days with the water proofing. No fuss, no muss. In the spring i will be having them come back to do the work on the rest of the wall as well as some touch up work on the house. Good job!

They did a great job and were fairly priced. They even tuckpointed the fourth side of the chimneys without building scaffolding, which saved me thousands of dollars.

Their estimater met with me to do a thorough inspection of our house and gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be repaired. Their website listed several properties in our area where they had recently worked which I was able to view before selecting them to repair the tuckpointing on our brick home. The crew took meticulous care of our property, thoroughly answered all of my questions during the work and provided extra services at no extra charge including cleaning our gutter, repairing a couple cracked roof tiles and replacing a large unsightly concrete patch with appropriate tuckpointing on our stone foundation. We are so pleased with how much their work has improved the appearance of the masonry on our front porch that we will not be replacing the bushes that we recently removed from that area. I highly recommend Galati and Sons for their quality service, punctuality, careful work and reasonable cost.

Finished the job and did a very nice job of cleaning up. Came when they said they would. Easy to contact and pleasant to deal with.

Fantastic job. Required a 66 foot lift. Crew was careful at every step of the way. No damage to lawn or roof when the works was completed. Did a great job cleaning up after job completion, removing all debris and dust from the cedar shake roof, as well as, washing down a significant portion of the siding, skylights etc. Dan was on site at the critical start of the job, and was in phone contact during the duration of the job, as needed. They were able to connect me with a sub contractor (Holy Smoke) to size and acquired 5 copper flue caps on short notice. As such, they we able to complete the installations without having to bring the lift back a second time.

Want to give a shout out to Galati Tuckpointing. My husband has professionally been involved with the commercial construction industry for decades now and he is not easily impressed. From the estimate to finish they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it and for a very reasonable price. Frequent communication and the clean up was stellar!! Both days they were here the clean up was more than complete. I hate to name names, but had 2 other companies say they would come by for estimates and one did not even try to contact me when they knew they were not going to show up. If you are reading this, you know who you are, these things matter. Thanks Galati!!!

I contacted Galati and Sons when my chimney leaked and stained my ceiling in the family room. They were prompt in responding and came when I wasn't at home to do the estimate. (I appreciated not having to be home because it was a particularly busy time for me and I didn't want to spend a day waiting.) I was called with the estimate, and we scheduled the work. The crew arrived on time and the only thing I had to do for them was plug in an extension cord. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. The office staff was great and answered all my questions, and sent me an invoice marked paid for my records. I would recommend them without reservation. They are truly professional and make having work like this done stress free.

Getting the estimate took longer than I had expected and Galati was not the lowest estimate I received. However, the estimate was communicated to me verbally and Mr. Galati was the only one to actually ask me questions about what and how I wanted it done before providing the estimate. In addition, they communicated exactly what would be done, how it would look immediately after it was done and what I could expect. I was extremely pleased wit the outcome and with their ability to match quite closely the existing brick. I would definitely use them again for similar work.

Great experience. They worked with me on the timing of the work and were very accommodating of my limited schedule, going above and beyond what I thought was reasonable given how much work they had for other customers. They were very diligent in responding to my calls. The bid was $1,000 less than a bid I received from another contractor. The work they did was great. Everything looks wonderful and they appeared to clean everything nicely. They followed up with me promptly to see what I thought of the work which I thought was incredibly professional and nice. Great company, great service.

Dan and his team did amazing work. They were able to stabilize the foundation of our new/old house. The work is beautiful and was done in a timely fashion.

Good estimate process and communication with Dan is prompt. Crew showed up on time and performed well. Several days of rain delayed finishing the job, but the crew did a nice job of securing the partially-completed worksite to protect the work and the neighborhood kids. They may not be the cheapest bid, but I trust their work.

It went pretty well. The salesman was very nice. The workers were good. The one thing that I had a problem with is the matching of the mortar for the brick. They were great at matching the mortar which was a pinkish color for the brick but for some reason they used the pink mortar in the stone work around the front door. My beautiful grey stone work around my front door is now pink, instead of grey. I feel like this was careless on their part. Dan Galati, the owner called me about the pinkish mortar. He promptly sent his crew back out to my house and replaced the pink mortar with grey mortar. I am very impressed that Mr. Galati followed up with me to make sure that I was satisfied with their work. I definitely would recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

Shortly before buying our home, the front porch corner fell off. This of course reduced the final price of the house, but I knew we needed to fix it immediately. In order to have an idea of what the repairs would cost, I called a number of tuckpointers. Not all were willing to spend the time to give us estimates (since we didn't own the home yet), but Galati & Sons was one of the companies that did! (Thank-you!!) That allowed us to know how much to expect for the repairs and move forward with the purchase of our new home. Because of leak risks at the corner that needed to be re-tuckpointed as well as the aesthetics/potential damage to the front porch from the fallen corner, we hired Galati & Sons to fix the porch corner, re-seal the edges of the porch, seal the surface of the porch/stairs, and to re-tuckpoint the corner of the house above a block glass window. Just as with the estimate, the team that completed the work was punctual and professional. They matched the fallen stone veneer and mortar colors beautifully, and repaired both corners. They had to return another day to finish the surface sealant (since the repairs had to dry first), and when I noted that some of the interior mortar around the block window had fallen, they obligingly came inside and applied more mortar! Overall the service was fantastic. The only sad (but understandable thing) was that there was not a warranty for the porch repair (since it wasn't new construct/full rebuild). They gave me the choice of caulk or mortar to seal the edges of the porch, and we decided upon a combination of mortar in the higher visibility areas and caulk around the ground. But because of the way water falls from a small section of the roof onto the porch, there has been a minute amount of leaking into the under-porch room which might have been avoided had I chosen caulk for all seals. Also, there are some small cracks forming near the corners as before. However, these are probably due to the porch railing, which was drilled into the concrete and is not well sealed, allowing water to seep into the concrete. All in all, I was pleased with the work Galati & Sons performed, and I would call them again.

The job was well done and on time.

The work went great. They were punctual and started and finished the job quickly. I would give them an A for quality, except I've noticed a few years later that much of the tuckpointed mortar is cracking. The work was originally done to fix a leak and the leak has not reappeared, so the cracking may be superficial only. I have not contacted them to ask about repairs as I just noticed the cracking recently.

It went very well. But the big story here is how responsive Dan Gallati was in making sure that the job was done right and that we were satisfied with the work. Sealing our front porch was not difficult because it has a northern exposure, and the Gallati crew's work here was solid and quite attractive (they even matched the seal to the brick work). The back porch, which has a southern exposure, was much trickier because it gets baked by hot direct sunlight every summer. Consequently, some of the sealant puckered after a while. But Dan Gallati cheerfully sent his guys back three times until the job was just right.

All work went well. The crew was there on time, did their work and when finished, they cleaned up the work site.

& they did excellent work. I have used them in the past for tuckpointing & was happy.

Quick response to request for estimate.|Minimum of $350. was a little high for what was done, compared to others.

.Resonding to Galties Response.. Yes someone came out, but everything that was done by your company has failed, turned white, or fallen out.

They were professional and prompt. I like that they quoted the tuckpointing based on the areas that needed repair, not just a generic price per side of the house. The original estimate for the chimney was to replace approximately 50 bricks, but the owner said that could change once they got to work and saw condition of the bricks. It ended up being around 90 bricks, but he called as soon as it became apparent it was going to be more than the original estimate and explained the situation. The work was done well, and they cleaned up their mess before they left. I would definitely use them again.

They also coated the Crown with a flexible sealant and waterproofed the whole chimney.
