Ferguson Roofing

New Roof looks great and have had no problems. Office support is outstanding. Would definitely recommend Ferguson Roofing. They have a 15 year warranty that most other companies don't have.

We had a recurring leak in our kitchen from a bad repair the year before with another contractor. I joined and checked Angie's List and found Ferguson Roofing had a good rating. I was very happy they did work in Edwardsville. Blaine came out and gave an estimate within a day or two of my call. This was in mid December. The estimate seemed reasonable and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had him check out a couple other things and agreed to get them done as well. Initially we were told the job was small enough and it probably would be done before Christmas. In the end it waited until after the holiday. This was OK. Justin, who delegates the local jobs came by and verified our shingle color and looked over the work order that needed to be done. (I had called to see where we were in the job line up). Within a day we had two great guys on the roof. A father and son team. It took only 1 1/2 days to complete the work and we had rain the very next day. No leak. We have had a total of 8 inches since and all looks good so far.

They came out and checked my roof and determined that I did not need a new roof. They are a small company and it does take a while to schedule an appointment and for them to respond. For the roof that they installed before, I was happy with that service. I was very happy with the professionalism and the result.

Just to be clear, I did not hire this company (I was never given the chance....), but the price above is what they quoted me for the job. My experience with this company started out fairly well, I called their offices, a man came out for a free estimate, the guy showed up on time, friendly enough, he said he could do the repairs and would have the estimate sent over. It was a couple of days before I saw that e-mail... I talked over the estimate with my other half and decided to just have one project done (the more expensive one). I e-mail the receptionist (who sent me the estimate) asking if she could give me a new estimate for only the siding repair. No response. I called their offices, left a voice mail... No response. I even called the guy who gave me an estimate, left another voice mail. No response. I was completely fed up at this point and stopped calling them. Never heard back from them. My only guess on why they just dropped me was because my job wasn't expensive enough for them. I wish they would have just answered the phone and told me that, than just letting me waste my time. What a disappointment.

The overall evaulation was not based on the quality of Ferguson's work. That was as good as previously experienced. We understand that there was a great deal of damage in our area resulting from the referenced storm. However, it took nearly 5 mos. to accomplish the job from initial contact to completion. Because of our previous experence with Ferguson, we were willing to wait for them. At times during the process it was difficult to get someone to give us a definite time frame to accomplish the various jobs. Had we not had an insurance settlement in hand, we probably would have moved on to another contractor.

I e-mailed them and someone came out while I was at work & then sent me a bid. I got some more bids from other contractors. I decided on Ferguson Roofing because I had heard good reports. I called them back and told them I was ready to have the roof installed. They came out. I picked out the shingle color and signed the contract.They called me back & said I didn't pick out an architectural shingle so I needed to choose a different color. They gave me a website to view the colors of shingles. I picked one out on line and called them back.They said they would call me back with the date. They called and told me when they would be at my house. I think it may have been installed within 2 weeks after I signed the contract. They showed up and completed the installation in one day. I have a small home. As far as I know everything is fine.

After receiving some hail damage and an inspection from our Insurance agent we were faced with the task of choosing a roofing company. Ferguson Roofing was among the list of "preferred vendors" from our insurance company and I had previous experience with the company's commercial work so they were among those we chose to call for estimates. Their inspector was out within a couple of days and I received their estimate by email the following day. I got immediate responses to several emails with follow up questions. The quote was the lowest of the three I received so I followed up via email with some questions regarding the process and got immediate responses to all of them. Ultimately, I requested a visit from one of their salespeople to see some samples of our shingle choices. Every individual with whom I spoke was professional and knowledgeable. Once we signed the contract, the work was scheduled within a week or two. The workmen arrived at the appointed time as I left for work that day, when I returned home at 5pm there was no evidence that they had been there other than our new roof.

I would recommend them to anyone and they did an excellent job.

Jeff from Ferguson Roofing came to my home twice to look at my roof. I live in a villa. Both my "attached" neighbor and I filed claims with our insurance companies following hail in March, 2012. My insurance company said I didn't need a new roof, my neighbor got her claim approved. Jeff came out once to inspect the roof. He saw a couple of areas he thought had sustained some damage and sent his report to my insurance company to contest the first adjustor's report. He came back a second time with a different adjustor, with the same outcome. I so appreciate his efforts in my behalf. I would definitely contact Ferguson Roofing for any of my future needs.

I received an e-mail on 7/3/2012 stating it would be 4-6 weeks before they could check my roof due to the heavy volume of calls due to hail damage from the 4/27/2012 storm. Although the e-mail response was timely, the 4-6 week wait for an estimate was too long for us. We chose another contractor to do the work and called Ferguson Roofing on 7/17/2012 to cancel the request for an estimate.

I called Ferguson on the recommendation of my insurance agent after receiving hail damage. The sales guy who came out was professional and polite. He refused to look at my estimate, instead gave me a quote to see how close he came to it. He came in $1000 under what the insurance comapny had given me which allowed me to upgrade to better shingles and get the ridge venting. This also saved me my deductable. He told me it would be about 4 weeks until they got to me which I was good with, The crew came out two weeks later and worked hard and did a great job. They cleaned up most of the mess and I found only a few nails in the yard. The roof looks great! The only issue I had was that they forgot to repair a piece of siding and it took me a while to get through to them to have them come back out. Once they called me back, two guys came out two days later and replaced the siding, I was very happy with them and would use them again.

I had very good luck with them. They do really good work. They came back several times to check on it when the weather changed. Their follow up was really good. I thought the price was a little high.

They did a great job, and I will use them again without hesitation. The area of the roof that they repaired looks excellent - he matched the existing shingle color, which has faded over the years, perfectly, I can't even tell any damage happened to the roof. Good service companies are hard to find. These guys are very good!

The price was good. The problem was that they did not clean up very well. They left nails in the yard. Some of the crew did not show up the second day. I would make sure they clean up. I called them back to clean up. I am still finding nails in my yard.

The Monday that they were to start moving my roof, was rescheduled several times due to a bad storm damaging many roofs in our area, the prior weekend. Finally on Thursday they started removing the roof. Never had the same crew, truly felt they had sub contracted my roof. Very poor workmanship. Finishing the up the roof, they ran out of shingles. I ask for extra shingles and never received. I took several vacation days to have this done.

Seemed like a pretty simple job. Remove all the current layers of the roofing on a detached 1 car garage, and replace with new shingles. We had an older roof on the garage and hail and wind damage from a storm, and have previously used Ferguson Roofing and been happy with their work. The estimator, Roger came out and wrote up a proposal. Even though the insurance adjustor who viewed the damage claimed we had only 3 layers of shingles, and visually to me I only saw three, the proposal written up by Ferguson only included the removal of 2 layers, with additional charges for addition layers. I had asked the estimator what additional layers would cost and he told me around $100/layer. We agreed despite that we knew more layers were on there, b/c they wouldn't change the proposal. First off, they scheduled us about a week or two out, but didn't show up on the first day they were scheduled to come. We were told it didn't matter if we were home when the work was done, and that they wouldn't need access to the garage. Well they finally did compete the job, and we were out of town. It was rather sloppy. There was a cupola on the garage, that they had to remove and connect back to the garage. When completed, you could see right through between the cupola and the roof. There was a gap. After many calls to them asking them to come out and fix it (it took about 2 months for the one hour fix), they finally did. My other issue with this work, was the complete mess that was left inside the garage. There were nails, dust, wood, old roof, and lots of crap everywhere inside and all over all my tools, lawnmower and other objects in the garage. They had no access to the garage, but also told me they didn't need any. Little did I know they would make such a great mess inside. I decided to clean up the mess myself, as I was trying to sell the house and couldn't wait 2 months for them to clean up. Overall, the roof looked nice, and I have used Ferguson Roofing in the past, as have others that I know. I was disappointed with this job, but since I was selling the house and had already moved to another state, there wasn't much that I could do. I would like to think this was 'a bad day' for them and that other projects are not treated with such disregard. In regard to the bill, I was charged for 2 extra layers of removed shingles for a cost of $225. I would have liked to have been present to see these additional layers, but since I wasn't I couldn't dispute this charge. Also, with selling the house, I didn't want a lien put on it. If I still lived in STL, I would consider using them again, but would be reserved.

They are back to you promptly and they have more than one person answering phones and they are are will to negotiate the price.

Price was competive with other estimates. Estimate explained, went through each line item. Work crew showed up on time and completed the entire job within one day as stated in estimate. Clean up of roofing materials was complete with no materials left in yard. Overall very good experince

Responded quickly and work was performed when promised. Very professional, kept us informed as work was being done.

They came out when they said they were going to and gave me a bid. They were reasonable. The information they gave me I thought was acccurate

I have done business with Ferguson Roofing for many years. When our home was hit by a recent tornado I did not hesitate to contact them again. They had always done our roofing jobs but never siding. A neighbors tree came through the back of our garage so it had to be repaired. The garage had not been sided since it was built in 1947. It was an old type of aluminum siding that did not need a wood underlayment. It was nailed to the framework. Since the siding had to be replaced, Ferguson had to put a wood underlayment on first and then apply the siding. What is great about Ferguson Roofing and Siding is that they come to do the job with enough men to get it done in one day. They did the roofing first and the next week came and did the siding. The men are very professional and are extremely friendly. You never hear one wrong word out of their mouths when they are working. With all that they had to tear off from the roofs and the siding, you could not find one piece of debris left when they finished the clean-up. They didn't even mash my flowers down. They were great and I would not hesitate to call them again.

Contacted Ferguson Roofing (as 1 of 3 companies) for an estimate to repair or replace roof and guttering damaged from multiple hail/wind/rain storms.They responded promptly and came to give us an estimate in a very timely manner. The written estimate was received within a few days.(The "estimator" was, in fact, an office person who was called into duty because of the overwhelming number of customers with roof damage. The employee was very professional & did not reveal their "normal" job, I happened to recognize this person from their previous job - no roofing experience).I applaud Ferguson for punctuality, responsiveness and professionalism.I haven't made a decision regarding repairs yet. I am waiting for my other bids.

There is no way for us to verify that the dormer was fixed because the two story roof is too tall for me to inspect it. also because the leak was intermittant to begin with, and because we were not home during the repair. My effort to pin down the exact date of this repair was not answered by the company. The roof has not shown any new leaking. My complaint is not knowing when the work was done. I believe a better practice by the company is for the company to make a phone call ON THE DAY THEY SEND THE CREW and for the company or crew to call to inform us that they had done the work and summarize what they did. This could have been accomplished by a voice message in both cases if we were not home to answer the phone. And we would have been home if they had come on the day they said they were coming. As it was we did not learn that they performed the work until we got the bill. We also had a lot of gutter work done. This was done by co-company Ferguson Siding and Guttering, Inc. We had new guttering put on our garage and they did an excellent job on that. No problem. They also did an excellent job of repairing the guttering on the north side of our house. But, a connected porch gutter on the north side was neglected. They did the house roof repairs first and came back the next week to replace the garage gutters. (But, not until after I had called to inquire when they were going to do the garage). The real problem is that the guttters on the south side of the house leaked as bad or worse than before they did the work. The initial work was done on two trips during late April or early May. They did not come on the day stated but I believe the next day or within two days. Once again, I feel a better business practice would be to alert us the day they actually come. I checked the southside during storms on 5/13 and 5/14 and found numerous leaks. I called Ferguson on either 5/14 or 5/15 to inquire when they were going to do the job on the garage and about the still needed work to repair the south gutters. I was told that they were going to send their best man to analyze and fix the south gutters. I told Ferguson to have the best man call me so I could tell him the problems and gave my cell phone number. I received no such call. My next contact with the company was receiving their bill for completion of entire job dtd 5/20. No one had contacted me at that time to tell me what they had done to fix the south side gutters. I checked during a storm on 5/23 and the leaks were as bad as ever. I wrote up a letter and took it to Ferguson in person to tell the problems. I spokle with their gutter scheduler when I arrived. He again said he would send his best gutterman out and we set a date. Nobody came that day but their gutter scheduler called the next day and said their had been a mixup and that the man was on his way. Well I am happy to say that this solved the problem with the south gutters and I am now satisfied. I paid my bill in full and now the case is closed. I am no expert on gutters and perhaps I expect too much to have it fixed on the first try. I do not know the problems of roofing companies but other kinds of companies are able to let me know the exact day they are coming or they call me to tell me they are on their way. I also think it would be nice, if they do hard to see work when a customer is not home, such as 2d story roof work, or gutter repair that can't be checked until the next rainfall, that they would call to say they had done the job and left a summary of what they did, either ear to ear, or on voicemail/answereing machine.

They provided a satisfactory service. They were punctual. They appeared to do a professional job. I will not be able to say anything regarding the price, as I haven?t got my bill. I would use them in the future.
