Wonderful company to deal with from start to finish.

The work they did was excellent. They were prompt. Their installers were very competent and did good work. The cleanup was good and everything was perfect when I got back home.

Spring broke in the PM and with a phone call the next morning the company offered to come out by noon THAT day. Due to OUR schedule we chose to have them come the following day. They came as promised (they said they would come between 11:30 and 12:30 and the repair guy was here at 11:35). One guy, one truck... and he had both springs replaced within an hour. There was some chatter about upgrading the springs and warranty... BUT no pressure sales. The guy doing the work, Brian, was clean, friendly and professional. Total cost was EXACTLY what was quoted over the phone - $199 for the replacement of two garage door springs with a one year warranty. Would Highly Recommend!

I decided to do business with another company, mainly because I had previous experience with the other firm, but it was a very tough decision because I had equally good feelings about both proposals.

The chain broke on our garage door opener. I called Edelen and they offered to come out the same day, which I couldn't accomodate. We scheduled a time on 3/11 and they were very punctual. We had used them in the past and expected nothing less. Since they had just replace the motor 9 months back, he recommded they replace the chain instead of installing a new unit. I was informed they didn't have the part on hand and would have to order and pick it up on Monday to install Monday afternoon. We set a time up for Monday and they installed with no hassle. Hardly knew they were there. We also had them replace a wired keypad entry with a wireless one which is working great.

We selected them because of their rating and they held true to that rating.

On the phone they were very up front and honest. After describing the symptoms, they told me what the problem most likely was, and gave me a firm set price if it turns out to be that cause. Very easy to schedule. The technician arrived when they said. He was very efficient and professional and courteous. He evaluated and solved the problem quickly and for the price they quoted on the phone. He had the parts with him. After the repair, he showed me the old damaged gear parts that were replaced. Would definitely call them again for garage door problems.

A spring on my garage door broke. I called the next morning and they came out the same day to replace the spring. I had both springs replaced. He was prompt, friendly, and very professional.

I called EDELEN Door & Window to schedule an appointment for them to look at my door and reached John Edelen (company owner). After briefly describing my problem to him, he stated that the problem was probably one of two issues, either my safety photosensors were not properly aligned or a light source was shining into one of the photosensors. He also said that instead of scheduling a service call, I should first try to save myself some money and check the alignment of the photosensors. After purchasing a string line from the hardware store ($2.99 + tax), I followed his direction and after holding the string at the back upper corner of the two sensors, I was able to see that both sensors had been bumped out of place. After nudging both of the sensors, I was able to realign them within a few minutes. John Edelen was great on the phone and his advice was incredibly helpful. I always appreciate a contractor who is more interested in helping you than making a few dollars in a service call. Anytime I know of someone with a problem with their garage door, I will recommend Edelen Door and Window and I will use them again FIRST.

I became stuck in the garage as the spring had broken. Luckily my husband was able to wriggle the door open so I could take the car out; however it couldn't be shut and it was at an angle. Also the door jambs were ripped. The door is old and heavy, and although I never liked the look of it, it was a low priority to replace. After looking at reports on Angie's List, decided on Edelen, rang them Monday morning and they visited the same day. It wasn't a hard choice to decide on a new door, in a much nicer color! They were able to secure the door shut whilst the new one was being ordered. Two weeks later, they came and took away the old door, installed a new spring, and the new garage door. It works beautifully, and looks good too. The first employee who came out to quote had not put the discount ($50 off new garage door for Angie's List members) on the quote, so when I rang they said just to give it to the installer, which was not an issue. One happy customer!

When one spring snapped early this morning with my car still in the garage, I called Edelen and left a message. They called back about 15 minutes after they opened and set up an appt for between 11 and 1:00 today. Adam, the service person, arrived 1/2 hour early--fine with me since I wasn't going anywhere until they got the door fixed anyway! He was very polite and professional--explaining my options, talking to me as an intelligent customer, getting right to work, and fixing the door.

One spring of the garage door broke and the door would not open. Called this company on a Saturday morning and they sent a service person by noon. He advised to replace the other spring as well since it will be more economical doing both at the same time. He did a good job and the door is working.

Our garage door stopped about half way up. Called Edelman with a few days notice for an appointment. They were punctual and courteous (according to my wife, I wasnt actually there). Had to have the motor replaced on garage door, which was cheaper than a new one. While they were out, he also replaced the sensors. They performed the work timely and reasonably. It works great now, couldn't be happier.

I contacted Edelen to replace my standard builder?s grade garage door. The purchase process was relatively simple. Edelen was the best price. The warehouse is conveniently located. The installation was quick and effiencient. My only complaint is that the installer smoked in my garage (which was closed). I knocked a star off for this. My garage smelled of cigarettes for a week. But I am very happy with the door ? which is quiet and reliable.

It was a custom door because the size was weird. Somebody had recommended them to me. The installation went well and the guys were very good. It took a long time to get going. It took time to get the salesman to show up, and after I sent them the money, it took a little longer than I thought to actually do the work. They came to me. I knew the style I was interested in. I sat with the guy for half an hour going through the different catalogues. We decided on the size, style, material and things like that. Once they started the work, they did a good job. The price was a little high. I asked them to look at another door and give me a price on that. It all went down to measurements after which the salesman said that he would call me but he never did. I called him again. He never returned my calls. He didn?t turn up for this other sale I was offering. I wouldn?t buy anymore from them because of this experience.

I called Edelin late the day before and was pleasantly surprised they could come the next day, which was New Year's Eve. The repair guy called the next morning before 9 and gave a 1 hour window for when he would be there. The 1 hour window was nice compared to 2-4 hours for other repair services in the past. He came within his 1 hour window and quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced my sensors. He also took the time to spray my garage door rollers and brackets with silicone spray and adjust my garage door settings for winter weather. He also replaced an external garage door opener keypad that quit working. He did all this within a 1/2 hour to keep me from being charged beyond the initial service charge. The only negative, which is minor, when I asked him the price for the sensors he said he thought they cost a certain amount and then when I got the bill to sign it was $8 more. Not a big deal but something to call out.

Things have mostly gone well with them. They made a mistake on the siding and had ordered the wrong one. They had to take it off and get us a new siding. I think they subcontract a lot of the work out. The roof was done by a father and son company that they had contracted with.

The guy that came out for the initial service call called first thing in the morning to tell me what time he would be there. He arrived early, which was nice. He wasn't at all pushy. Our garage door opener was really old, and he didn't have any gears with him that would work for our opener. He said they had gears in the warehouse and quoted a price. I asked about replacing the entire opener. He quoted a price for that and said to think about it for a while and call them back. We decided to have the entire opener replaced. The guy that came to install it didn't call that morning with the time he would be there. It would have been nice if he would have, since he didn't show up until around 11:30. He was very professional and did a good job.

They were able to come within about 24 hours of when we called them. We didn't have to wait very long, so that was good. They did all the work successfully. The quality of their work was good.

I came home Tuesday night and found I could not get my garage door to open. I realized one of the springs was broken, so I got on Angie's List for references. Found Edelen Door and Window and called them first thing Wednesday morning. They quoted me a price over the phone for the anticipated fix and told me they could have somebody out between 11am and noon that day. The repairman arrived at about 10:45, told me what my options were in terms of upgrading the springs for longer life and what it would cost me. I went for the upgraded springs, and he was done with the repair and gone by about 11:15. Very fast and very professional.

The serviceman quickly diagnosed the sensor problem and noted it was only an issue that the sensor had come loose. Rather than simply tightening the sensor and just leaving, this individual spent extra time to explain how to diagnose future problems in the event we have issues with sensor. Plus he took the time to show us what other preventative maintenance we should be doing. We appreciate the additional service and would use them again.

I would highly recommend this company. They did a professional job and it looked beautiful and natural with my home. The installer came out and explained everything that was entailed in this job. I was impressed by the detail that they covered before they even started the project. I saved about $300 by going with this company and they got the work done within 2 hours. I will continue to use this company in the future.

Excellent! As soon as I showed the broken sprocket, he had the part in his truck to replace. As I also related the garage door would not stay open manually, and with the squeaks otherwise, the serviceman tightened the garage door spring on both sides and lubricated all moving parts. Works like new and sounds great. He did beyond the service call without hesitation. I will definitely use this company again, inside or outside the home warranty service.

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. I contacted Edelen via e-mail, in the evening, which is when I have time to do the research on Angie's List. In my e-mail I explained my problem, the manufacturers of the door and opener, and when I was looking for service. I had a response by 8:30 AM the next morning, complete with estimates. After comparing prices with another Angie's List company, I replied via e-mail to set up service for the next day. This was promptly responded to with the name of the service tech and what to expect. I was contacted by the service tech the day of service to establish a more specific time frame. He arrived on-time, was very professional and informative. The job was done within 30 minutes and he even lubricated a second garage door that had not needed service. I would definitely recommend this company! Good job, good price!
