Edelen Door & Window

When I picked them from Angie's List, I immediately called and left a message. The salesman called me back within ten minutes. We set up an appointment for two days later for them to come to my house. It was totally at my convenience. The salesman showed up right on time. He showed me the catalogues, and I chose the doors I wanted. He measured the doorway, we signed the contract, and I gave him a check for $1000. He told me an installer would be calling me in a few days to make an appointment to look at the job. Two days later an installer called me and came to preview the job. He was an Edelen employee and not a subcontractor. He told me that it would take a few weeks for the door to be manufactured, and that they would call me to arrange the installation. Three weeks later the same installer that had been to my house previously called. We set up the installation at my convenience, On installation day, he showed up right on time. He ripped the old door out, taking all precautions to protect the floors and other property. He installed the new door. He was meticulous and did not take any shortcuts. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of his work and the quality of the new doors. He cleaned up when he was done, took all of his trash and my old doors with him. I gave him a check for the balance of $2186. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. Thank you Angie's List.

Visited two other major garage door suppliers in the St Louis area and decided Edelen had the door that my wife and I liked best in appearance. Price was competitive. Work was done in a very professional manner. Edelen was very concerned with my total satisfaction. One door section had a cosmetic ding on the inside from shipping. The installer noticed the damage and without discussion noted on his worksheet that the section need to be re-ordered and replaced. We also had another section that had a paint chip from shipping on the outside, and Edelen will replace that section as well rather than touch it up (the door has a beautiful wood-grain stenciling on the outside rather than a solid color). I would have expected a touch-up approach. Overall, I am happily surprised at Edelen's concern for quality.

1-20-14 Every time we use these doors, we wonder why we waited so long to replace the old ones. We have had no problems whatsoever. Definitely pleased with this purchase.

Called Edelen on 1/29/13. Serviceman came on 1/31. Showed up on time and completed work in about 20 minutes.

It went very well we discussed the options that were available and I decided to go with a different opener that he did not have with him that day so he called and arranged to be back out the following Monday. I am very pleased with the opener and the service I received this is the 3rd time I have used this company and will continue to do so in the future.

They were good. I like everything about them. They came out right away and gave me a bid. They walked me through on the different options. I’m very pleased with them. I thought they have a good price for the garage door we have.

The estimator was there at the correct time and he was knowledgeable about the product. He was very professional.

I called the company due to one of my extension springs breaking. After contacting several door companies i decided to call Edelen door and window due to there sticker being on the door. When i first called i was trying to find out info on buying just the springs so i could replace them my self due money ting tight and being laid off. After doing research by watching videos on You Tube and google i understood how to weigh door but didn't know whether to double the number. The garage door companies wouldn't give my correct answers. I called Edelen back to get see how much it would cost to get them to come out and replace springs. I was told that it was a $79.00 labor and either $20 to $30 for the extension springs. I told them that i would get back with them. I checked other companies and decided to call Edelen back. Due to me being out i called my wife and asked her to call to set up appointment. After speaking with company she called me back and said they gave her a $200 quote. I called company back and spoke with lady and asked several questions. she retrieved answers and relayed them to me. The quote i received was the same as the one when i first called. I set up appointment for the next day Company called that morning and gave us an 9:00 appt: Tech was on time and didn't take that long. Tech replaced extra parts other than springs that i didn't know i needed until i received the bill. I wish he had informed me of other parts i need. He did tell me that i should double the number received on the scale for the weight..

They were very punctual and did a good job of installing a glass side storm door.

We called them for an estimate. They came within a couple days. They provided the estimate within a couple of days. We told them we wanted them to do the work so they ordered the parts which took a few days. We then scheduled the work and they came out and did what they said they would. No problems, no hassles.

They did an outstanding job. They were good in giving the estimate. His recommendation was actually cheaper than what he could have sold us and it gave us the same look as what we wanted. We got what we wanted for less money but it is still good quality. We recommended them to our neighbor. The guy did a really nice job framing out the entry door because we have brick and plaster in our 1970's ranch house. He did a real nice job. We would absolutely use them again.

Our automatic garage door would not open more than a few inches. We called Edelen Door and Window. They scheduled us for repair the next day. They told us they would call that morning with a time for the service call. They called approx. 7:45 a.m. with the time frame of 10:30-11:30. The service person arrived promptly, identified the problem and replaced a broken spring. He suggested replacing both springs as they have a similar life span and it would cost less to do them both at once. We agreed and the work was done within the hour. The service person was courteous and professional. The garage door works fine now.

The process was very straight-forward. I contacted Edelen and requested a proposal to remove and install 6 replacement windows in my house. Their representative came out and presented me with a proposal to accomplish the installation. I compared the one submitted by two other companies and chose Edelen. I called their representative and requested that his proposal be very specific regarding identification of the products i was purchasing, duration of the project, approximate starting date, payment terms, warranty information and Lien Waivers. He supplied the requested information and the project moved forward. We were notified a few days before installation and two installers came out a couple of days later and completed the job in a day. They were local individuals and they did an excellent job. I have been very pleased with their workmanship and the product they installed. Our new windows by the Vanguard Company have served us well. I intend to replace additional windows with the same product by Edelen Door & Window.

They came on time and did the job. They had the highest price that I looked into, but it was worth it.

No problems. Salesman came back later with several different diffusers so we could be sure we were happy with the lighting.

They were extremely excellent. They noticed everything that was wrong with my door. I feel like they looked at everything more closely than the other companies that came out. I also appreciated the fact that they noticed my garage door motor needed replaced and that per state law they will test for lead paint and repair that if they do find some in the garage.

CALL AND MADE APPOINTMENTFOR NEXT DAY. ARRIVED AND INSPECTED DOOR, TOLD WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND QUOTED PRICE TO REPAIR. WORK WAS DONE . HAVE THIS COMPANY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THEY INSTALLED WINDOWS IN TWO BED ROOMS AND FAMILY ROOM IN 2001.

I called for an estimate on a complete garage door/hardware and opener replacement. My information was taken and I was told that I would be contacted. 24 hrs later, no contact. I called again, told them I had called once to get an estimate and they said they would put me directly into the persons voicemail, once again left a message. Still no response, called the office once more spoke with Sue who explained that she just handles the phones and accounting, I told her the situation, she took my information again and said someone would definitely contact me right away. That was around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon, it's now Friday morning, 9am, haven't hear a thing, and I'm done. I don't understand how they can be so highly rated, when they won't even return calls to schedule an estimate. I would not recommend them, nor will I consider them for anything in the future.

They did a great job, they were on time, charged what they said they would, did good work, and came back even when there was something wrong they came back to fix it.

The garage doors at our house were installed by Edelin close to 40 years ago, as best we can figure. They've been very good about service calls when springs broke or things like that, coming quickly and charging reasonable rates, over the years. Finally those doors began to rust through, and it was time for new ones. The house is old, and it's a close fit to get them installed; they decided that a particular employee would be the best to do the job. Both the employee who came to talk to me about the new doors and the installer were impressive. No high pressure sales, a good explanation of installation and apologies because it wasn't quite the same as the previous set of tracks, and VERY quiet new doors - that are insulated! made me a happy customer.

I went to their showrooms off north Hanley and decided to go with their least expensive door, because even it had a decent warranty. An employee came out and checked out the measurements of the garage (meeting me there as I don't live in the house) and gave me a firm price of $871. The workman stated that there was no reason to replace the motor, which I had been considering, since the motor worked just find, appeared to be newer than the door and that if it failed later it would cost the same to replace it then as it would cost to do now. I already had a couple of other quotes that were in the same price range, but a little higher, so I went ahead and signed the contract after making sure the door I wanted was in stock and could be installed quickly. The workman arrived right on time and got to work (in the rain!). After working a while, he told me that since my door was out of plumb to make the door look right when closed it needed additional wood framing, which would cost an extra $20. I knew the opening wasn't square, so I was happy to get away for an additional $20. The total bill, in the end was exactly $20 more than my original quote. I like this company because they didn't try to upsell me on a more expensive door, though they did give me info on the options and they were straightforward about the replacement of the opener. Also, the price they quote is the entire price, including tax.
