Services we offer

We offer all types of residential and commercial fencing including, vinyl, ornamental (aluminum or steel), wood (including custom wood fences), chain link and wrought iron. In addition, we have a staff of experienced custom home builders offering custom decks and complete home renovation including kitchens, baths, windows, doors, hardwood flooring, ceramic flooring, siding and basement finishing. We also install handrails for porches, stairs, balconies and walkways.

Services we don't offer

We do not do roofs, plumbing or electrical. However, if we are happy to provide these services through our quality sub-contractors if needed.

Description of Work: Easter installed a beautiful cedar fence for us. Their team did a great job and worked diligently to get the project done quickly. I appreciate the quality of the materials. The cedar pickets are thicker than what I have seen on other fences in my neighborhood and should last for years and years. I would have Easter work on any home project.

Description of Work: I made contact with this company at a trade show and they later came on site to give me an estimate. When I told my neighbor about getting my yard fenced in, he said that he would also use the same company and get his done at the same time,which Easter Fence appricated. Once the Easter Fence co. started they started on my neighbors fence first and they were using my electric to power their saws. When they did start on my yard they came to an area where several utilites came together and asked me to change the layout of my fence to which I refused and was angered,the utilites were there when they inspected the site and gave me my estimate. I was told by the company representative that he feared for his workers safety ( dig right had marked all the underground lines ) and I told them that I was not giving up part of my yard and if they marked where the holes needed to be I would dig them myself. When I told them I had access to a pin point metal detector, they had never heard of one. For some reason after I told them that I would dig the holes one of the workers tried and clipped a cable three times before he quit digging. I dug the remaining holes with the pin point metal detector without any problems and was told that they would deduct that from my bill which was not done. | |The company itself is a good company, but is in desparate need of an onsite project manager. As for them using my electric to construct my neighbors fence I can't help to wonder if this is a common practice.

Response from Easter Fence, Deck & Renovations
We installed this job over 9 months ago, so I’m a bit at a loss to know all the details. I do, however, understand the frustration with underground power lines. We are required by law to have Dig-Rite mark the underground lines. Even though there are utility boxes in the yard you don’t know which direction the underground lines are running. Prior to drafting this response I called an electrical contractor and a large general contractor to discuss the issue of buried lines. I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t missing something. Dig-Rite only guarantees to be within 2’ of the actual buried cable or gas line. Underground electrical lines in yards are usually buried 24” and carry enough voltage to kill. The buried electrical lines are aluminum, so a metal detector should detect the line. However, there are many possible situations under the ground that could confuse or alter the magnetic signal. To quote the electrician, “I wouldn’t bet my life on a metal detector.” Neither would I, nor would I require one of our employees to risk his life. If we knew that the electrical cable was in conduit we could dig very carefully until we felt the conduit. However, the cable could also be a “direct burial” in which case digging carefully could still get someone seriously hurt. It is a very expensive solution, but there are companies that will dig the holes for you. They use either ground penetrating radar, or a high pressure water system with a vacuum to suck the mud out. However, these methods are usually cost prohibitive for residential purposes. We are also a bit confused to receive this negative review because we were under the impression that the customer was very happy. They were very pleasant to deal with throughout the process. Within one week of the completion of the job the customer called and provided the credit card information for the final payment. No mention was made of any discount, though that would have been reasonable since he dug a few of the holes himself. It is apparent that we should have had more dialogue about underground cables during the bidding process. We are continually working on business process improvement. Feedback like this is helpful. In fact, near the end of last year we began using a checklist of 7 items to discuss with potential customers. They cover issues that we have found to be the most misunderstood or overlooked. Two of the items relate to underground utilities. We do this to avoid any surprises or misunderstandings such as occurred in this situation. Chuck Easter, President

Description of Work: We used Easter Fence Co services twice. Our first home in1992- they built a 6ft shadow box cedar fence for us. We were so pleased with this company and pricing we called them to our second home in 2003. They installed a 6ft vinyl slate fence. It's been seven + years and the fence is standing as firmly as the day they installed it. They are a fabulous company and I will use them again if ever I need them! Their work is outstanding and their pricing is very reasonable.
