The first technician that was sent out by JT Dunn Climate Control said that the unit could be repaired that the unit need new coils etc . I called the office of JT Dunn to ask how could the tech do a proper assessment because when he came out I was not at home and he had no way access to the inside of the home to do a full assessment of the ac unit. They assured me that it was an accurate diagnoses' moving forward I was given an estimate of roughly $1100.00 I contacted JT Dunn about a week and a half later to request to have the work done. when the tech it was a complete different tech after he looked over the unit he said ha the unit really needed to be replaced and he proceeded to contact his office manager Kathy she proceeded to say previous tech Scott was no longer with the company and that the unit would need to be repaired as stated by the previous tech. I spoke with Kathy and the tech to let them no my concerns that I wanted to the best out come and I don't want to just throw my money away because if the unit really needs to be replaced I would rather spend my money towards replacing than repairing. I trusted this company Jt Dunn and its employees because this is not my area of expertise. The tech completed the work and I gave the tech my credit card number and signed my invoice. Needles to say the tech proceed to make repairs to the coil on the ac unit, 1 week later the ac unit froze up and the lines that the tech was supposed to had replaced were leaking. I called my home warranty company in turn sent out another company that assessed the unit and said that the coils leaking and the unit freezing up caused further damage and the unit would need to be replaced. I also received a call from Capital stating that there were fraudulent charges to my account this was 3 and half weeks after the so called repair from JT Dunn I had Capital one check all my charges for JT Dunn but they said that the transactions was never put through by the merchant JT Dunn. I was in the process of applying for a home HQ loan I was informed right before closing that JT dunn and placed a lien on my home.. I was infuriated because I am still enduring the blacklashes of this company. JT Dunn placed a lien on my home for$1300.00 dollars within less of a month of the service call. I called their office and spoke with Kathy the office manager and asked why was I not notified of them placing a lien on my I never received an invoice or phone call, what kind of company places a lien on someones home in less than 30 days of service without making any effort to contact the customer. however I paid that $1300 fee to the court when I received copies of the documentation that had been submitted to the court , I was once again in ragged and disappointed because JT Dunn had had additional findings and suggestions to the invoice after they had given me my copy ( FRAUD). Per Kathy the lien would be lifted with the paper work she gave me ..needless to say it was lifted because the paperwork she gave me was not a legal document , in the mean time my closing was set back and every time I would call Kathy about getting the right documentation she would take my calls or call back. I filed a complaint with the better I was then contacted by the owner Brett initial he apologized and said that he wanted to make this right and he agreed to refund me my money if I would retract my statement with the better business. I informed him I had no problem adding to my statement that he corrected the issues as long as he kept his word. Brett told me that he would mail it out and I should have it in a few days.. They money never came when I contacted him he basically told me that he changed his I should have called his company back to fix the issues I informed him that all that had transpired I was no-longer comfortable with using his company. I feel that JT Dunn took complete advantage of my lack of knowledge as a consumer and then the owner himself refused to owner his own words or even correct the mistakes of his employees ...what kind of company holds the the consumer accountable for what the employees are paid and trained to know. I trusted this company and this was a complete nightmare I paid them $1300 for a ac unit that ran for about a week ...The worst part of it all was the the owner Brett not keeping his word or taking ownership for his employees.

We are sorry you feel this way. We would've been ripping you off just to sell you the new AC and not fix your old one. The BBB agrees and heads of MO state agree we made a very good effort to take care of you. The decision on repair vs replace for an AC is never black and white so where one owner or tech could say replace the AC and another says fix the AC they both can be right. In your case the repair worked fine and just needed another tweak to the king valve which we would've done for free if necessary. We value customer service - We could've saved you thousands but you didn't call us back to honor the agreement you signed. Our offer still stands to credit you back the money toward a new AC if that is what you want.

Dunn's profile on here states free estimates. I called and was told that was only for full install of new units. Very misleading. Will not use them or recommend them. I HATE shady business practices.

I called earlier to launch a complaint against Dunn Heating & Cooling. They gave me the run around. I them and asked them to come and take the furnace out of my house that they put in last Friday because, they did not honor their ad. They did a bait and switch that I didn't appreciate. I paid $1495 for the deal that they did. The guy came out and gave my husband a lot of salesman bull. He didn't bring out any brochures for the Ream deal. He pushed the Tran system on him. He figure that because, our furnace has been flagged three times. They would not turn it off. I'm not happy with the deal at all. I'm asking for a refund and I put a stop payment on the check. I call him to come back out and I told him that I needed some vents put in upstairs. He is trying to build a Mitsubishi unit. By the time he is done, it has gone from the $1495 I bought from Angie's List to $5200. It's not fair, I called them this afternoon. It is not heating the house like they said it would. We have had to turn the heat up higher. It is making strange noises. I want them to come take it out and give me my money back. My contract says that I have thirty days. Angie's List has a new thing where they guarantee the service. I don't have this type of money and I work hard for my money. I trusted these people and I trusted Angie's List to help me. I don't want to have anything to do with them because, they out right lied. They advertised for the Ream furnace and said nothing about the Trane furnace. They have another check from me for $2050 and they want another $1700 to get the heat to go upstairs. I am still having issues with it. It is noisy and I don't like it. I called them this afternoon and they still have not called me back. She put me on hold and then came back and said that someone would call me back.

We have called back to honor your wishes but our calls have not been returned. During the installation your husband praised our work for going above and beyond. The "bait and switch" ad being referred to is an ad created by Angies List and we assure you it is not bait and switch. The confusion came when you thought we were to install a mini - split air conditioner that was not on the contract you signed. I assure you for the price you paid we would not even be able to purchase the materials for the gas furnace we installed and the mini-split you thought was included. We have not been paid for the remaining balance of the system at this time and would love to rectify the situation with you. We can assure you that you got a great deal on the Trane furnace in your home right now that we were praised for given our excellent installation. The complaint you have is that the system isn't heating the top story of your building; however, it is your existing ductwork that is not sufficient not the furnace we installed. Feel free to call us back as we have tried calling you to honor your wishes.

Since the installation was made at the end of last winter, so I wanted to wait until now (December, 2015) to write a review. The difference the humidifier has made so far been significant. No static in the air, no dry itchy skin--why hadn't we done this before? As far as the actual installation went, it was fine. The installer explained everything as it was done and also spent all the time I needed to explain how it worked and the options for how it could be installed. He also went over the maintenance required and where to get replacement humidifier elements. The furnace inspection was also helpful. They offered a yearly AC and furnace inspection for additional cost, but when I declined there was no pressure. Overall a pleasant and productive interaction.
Description of Work: This was an Angie's List Big Deal for installation of a whole-house humidifier into our existing furnace. Included was an inspection of our furnace for any problems or concerns.

Overall everything worked out with the humidifier installation. A concern I had over being charged too much for a humidifier water pad at a second location turned out to be an error and they did not charge me the higher price initially quoted. After a rocky start Brett from Dunn H/C allayed my concerns and all is fine.

The technician was not familiar with the Carrier brand and had some difficulty. However, he persisted and was able to check the furnace and even replaced a fuse which was blown and part of his problem.

The technician was prompt (came when they said he would arrive). He didn't take up much time in the installation and kept the area clean and organized. He truly made sure that we understood the operation of the humidifier. I definitely will ask them back when service is needed in the future!

I purchased an Angie's list deal for a humidifier but was told I needed a power humidifier, this was installed on 12/16/14 at a total price of $370. When I had my annual heating service done by another company this year they pointed out that the humidifier was not working and water was not getting to the humidifier. That heating company thought the original valve might not have been installed properly, pin broke or may have calcified (but we don't have a hard water problem). Not wanting to pay the other heating company for work I had paid Dunn for, I called Dunn, explained the humidifier they installed December 2014 was not working. They sent a technician the next day. The technician thought that the warranty had run out the previous Saturday, which was not accurate. The original installation was on 12/16/14 and the repair call was 11/17/15. The technician installed a new valve and required a check for an additional $99. I was upset at Dunn. I believed the original work was wrong and that they should have fixed it at no cost. Follow up: The owner called us personally and said he wants to exceed our expectations. He was unaware of the dissatisfaction and will refund the charge. I appreciate his follow-up. Thank you.

To set the record straight, the contract was for installation of (1) Trane XR16 36,000btu Compressor with matching coil; (1) Trane Clean Effects Electronic Air Cleaner; upgrade return air drop ductwork Installation of the compressor and matching coil took place the first day and after inspection, I found gaps and buckles in the sheet metal requiring replacement, of which the installer returned and performed. I was informed that the Clean Effects Air Cleaner was back ordered and it wasn't known when it would be available. My wife and I decided to cancel rather than wait. Scott, our sales representative filled out a 'Change Order Request' showing refunds of $250.00 for the Clean Effects and $1250.00 for the Air Drop Ductwork. That represents a total of $1500.00 retund. Problem is we received the $250 check together with a photo copy the check, but not the $1250. We assumed that perhaps Dunn credited that amount back to my Wells Fargo account, and never checked our billing statements. Besides, we felt reasonable comfortable having selected Dunn from Angie's List Big Deal listing, we had nothing to worry about. Had it not been for Angie's List requesting me to review this company, we might never have uncovered this oversight. The fact that this has gone on this long gives me cause to worry about the integrity of the contractor. Another point I want to make is about the actual contract. Since my wife and I are Senoirs, and that's no excuse, we should've examined the form closer, as now I see that no price breakdown is shown. Instead everything is bundled into listing the work description, the equipment to be installed and only an installed price. In our case the installed price was listed $6350.00 with a discount of $425.00 leaving $5925.00 charged to me. We received $250. 00 refund so far. That leaves $5675.00 we paid for the air conditioner. Sounds like an awful lot of money for this unit. To this date, I don't know what the actual cost are and for that matter, why Dunn kicked us to the curb. We hate to have to report something negative like this, but it is what it is.
Description of Work: I found JT Dunn on Angies'List as an Air Conditioning company and was convinced by their excellent salesman and favorable reviews to install a new air system. However, the resulting job started out poorly. |In addition to inflated pricing and sloppy ductwork (which I insisted that they replace), Dunn never forfilled the (signed) maintenance aggrement despite several calls I made for service. My experience with this company is not at all positive and therefore definitely wouldn't recommend.

In the spring we needed to replace the A/C. We received quotes from three service providers. Dunn was not the cheapest, however their A/C unit (Trane) seem to be of better quality than those offered by the other providers. The representative who came to our house to give the quotation was very knowledgeable and polite. When it came time to discuss the price we found the rep to be a little "pushy". We did end up using this contractor and the experience was good. They did everything they said they would. The A/C we purchased was eligible for a rebate from Ameren. There was an issue with the rebate and Dunn made it good by paying us the rebate amount themselves. I would recommend this company because they were knowledgeable and responsive.

I was kept informed, as were the residents of the rental property. The process was essentially painless - no chasing down the company to get updates. Once the repair was made there were no issues afterward.

Everything went great and we are so happy with the results ... our energy bills are now so much lower. Dunn Heating and Air Conditioning is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and very efficient at what they do. I also want to mention that our previous unit was very noisy and now we can't even tell if it is running. We have to walk over to the floor vent to feel if air is blowing out or not - you talk about "indoor comfort" - this is it! If you are even considering a new HVAC and want to lower your monthly energy bills - call Dunn Heating & Air Conditioning - you will be glad you did! Ask them if you are eligible for the Ameren Act On Energy Program. They also have financing available if needed. We are completely satisfied with Dunn Heating & Air Conditioning and so happy to be reaping the benefits from all that they did. Our energy bills have been cut in half and IT'S ALL ABOUT THAT CASH, ALL ABOUT THAT CASH! Thank you!
Description of Work: Dunn Heating & Air Conditioning partnered with Ameren (Act On Energy Program) and installed an energy efficient Heat Pump - added blown in insulation in the attic and basement walls and sprayed foam insulation in other areas of the basement. Also, all of our "can lights" were insulated around and both bathroom exhaust fans were ventilated to the outside.

They scheduled a day and time that met my schedule. The installer made it look so easy to do but Not having done it and not having the right tools. I'm glad they did it because it really was a pretty good size task and getting it set up was also nice to know how to adjust it for our comfort. Very professional looking job and done right the first time always get great marks. Yes I would use them again.

Brett really took his time and explained everything regarding what he thinks is the best HVAC setup for our home. Rather than email us the estimate, he came and hand delivered the paperwork.
Description of Work: The owner, Brett, came by twice and provided us with a very good bid to retrofit a 6000 historic home with air conditioning. We were extremely impressed with Brett's extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, as well as the strength of JT Dunn's presentation materials.

One of the reps came out on a Saturday & was a little late but was very apologetic & it wasn't a big deal. The consultation went well & he even let us know the other systems we had were really good for their age. Since we had signed up for an Angie's List special I kind of expected them to try & up-sell me, but he didn't, which was really nice. The installation went well too, they were in and out in a few hours, hauled away our old system & cleaned up after themselves. They were both polite & professional. DUNN HEATING & COOLING CAME OUT 2 DAYS AFTER I CALL TO SCHEDULE A ESTIMATE. I SIGN THE CONTACT ONCE THE SALEMAN EXPLAIN EVERYTHING ABOUT THE OFFER AND EXTRAS THATS WAS REQUEST OR NEEDED. THIS ALL TOOK PLACE ON A THURSDAY HAD TO CALL TO SEE WHEN THEY WHERE GOING TO START , BUT ONCE I CALL THEY CAME ON WEDNESDAY , END OF STORY. THE SERVICE GUYS FROM DUNN HEATING & COOLING WASN'T SUPPOSE TO BE AT MY HOUSE TO ARROUND 2:00 NOON, BUT THEY ARRIVED AT 10:45 AM WHICH WAS VERY SOONER THEN I PLAN. BUT EVERYTHING WENT WELL. THEY BEGIN TO PULL EVERYTHING APART TO START PERPAIRING FOR THE NEW AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. I WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT FINALLY GETTING MY AIR CONDITIONING IN , NOT TO MUCH NOISE, VERY PERFESSIONAL INSTALL. THE BRAND WAS RHEEM WHICH SEEM TO BE A GOOD BRAND FROM WHAT I FOUND OUT FROM OTHERS. iT TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS ARE MORE GIVE OR TAKE. IM VERY PLEASE WITH MY UNIT , MY HOUSE IS VERY COOL AND I HAVE THERMOSTAT ON 75. I WILL RECOMMEND DUNN TO OTHERS , AS WELL AS MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. BY THE WAY I COULDN'T FIND ANYONE THAT WAS RESONABLE AT FIRST AND I DECIDED TO SIGNUP FOR ANGIELIST AT A SPECIAL PRICE FOR ONE YEAR $9.99 WITH 25 % OFF WHICH MADE IT $7.50 AND THIS IS WHEN I FOUND DUNN HEATING AND COOLING COMPANY VERY REASONABLE & AFFORDABLE . I am loving my new central air unit thanks Dunn Heating and cooling for such a great deal on angielist.
