The chairs are solid now and the cabinet door is reinstalled. Yes the price was higher than I expected, but I've never used a service like this. The repair took a little longer than their estimate, but they gladly honored the 5% discount from Angie's List.

They did an excellent job. Only issue was we had to call to see if they were done after the date promised because nobody from the company called to let us know the cushions were done.

Amazing work. Midcentury modern dining set restored to "better than new" and custom fabricated chairs to create additional seating are impossible to distinguish from the originals.

They restored and refinished several pieces of furniture. We thought we had a piece that was unsalvageable and they completely restored and it looks beautiful. All of the pieces that they refinished turned out extremely well. Everyone that we worked with was helpful and friendly.

Custom Furniture Works did a terrific job repairing and refinishing my great-grandmother's candlestick table. The foot of one leg had been broken completely off by furniture movers. I cannot tell at all that it was ever broken. The finish is beautiful. They were a pleasure to work with. Very responsive and knowledgeable.

It was so good that I dropped off three more items for them to work on.

Custom Furniture Works completed the job just as advertized. They were not fast, as we knew from other reviews; however, they were very accurate in their time estimates. They schedule the jobs accurately well in advance, and time from pick up to delivery of the completed chairs was 3-4 weeks as promised. We initially sent a photo of the chairs for an approximate estimate, then they visited the house to further clarify the nature and cost of the job, and tell us the required yardage of material. We then had to go to their location to choose materials, and finally place the order for the material. When the material arrived, they notified us, and then they collected the chairs to complete the upholstery. Overall, we were delighted with the excellent quality of the work, and the obvious skill and attention to detail in the final service. The final cost does not include the material cost.

Very well, did excellent work. If I have any more wood items to be fix, I will call them . Price was reasonable for the amount work that was involved.

I would like to thank Custom Furniture Works for doing an amazing job refinishing our mid-century dining room set and fabricating two additional chairs to go with the set. The entire process has been a joy. Dawn, who works in the office, was very communicative and helpful as she kept us updated on the progress, helped us with fabric selection & ordering, and setting up delivery. The finished product is even better than we had hoped. I guarantee the pieces are sturdier and better looking than ever-50+ years later. We still haven’t figured out which two dining chairs were created by Jeff! John, the finisher, did a beautiful job on the wood, and the upholstery work is impeccable. I can’t recommend CFW enough for your refinishing needs.

I contacted a few companies to get estimates for refinishing my 2 large lounge chairs. CFW was the most reasonable and the process was hassle free. They picked up and dropped off the furniture. The chairs needed to be stripped off and refinished with new stain. They did an excellent job. I have already posted about them on our neighborhood website.

My experience with Custom Furniture Works was very professional and positive. The work was done just as I expected, on time and without incident. The restored piano bench is beautiful! I will return to Custom Furniture Works whenever I need anything refinished and will recommend it to everyone.

Custom Furniture Works did an outstanding job on refinishing the Writing Desk to exactly what I wanted. They were very professional, prompt, and attentive to my needs. In my opinion, it was pricey, but I got an excellent result and am extremely happy!!

I had a large space in my kitchen where I put a moveable cubbie. Jeff and his team built beautiful closet-sized cabinets to match the other kitchen cabinets. They are a perfect match, and look as though they were part of the kitchen originally. Jeff is very easy to work with and is commited to doing excellent work, which he delivers.

Very well. They were able to repair/glue the broken leg and change out the wheels and it looks great! Very friendly and very good work. I would recommend them to anyone and I plan to take two chairs in for an estimate on recovering them.

Fantastic!! I was set to do the project elsewhere, but decided to check Angie's list at the last minute. So glad I did!! The business was close to my central St. Louis area location, gave me a good quote and had excellent reviews of their work. An Angie's list coupon was available. Though I was in no special hurry to get the chair back, it was returned ahead of schedule looking beautiful, the color a great match with the desk drawer I took as a sample. All my dealings with this business were positive and I can see why congenial, organized, professional staff got good marks. I was completely pleased with their service!

Custom Furniture Works was fantastic. All their workers were friendly and professional. When the picked up the door it was in pretty bad shape. It has some large cracks, loose panels and really dirty hardware. When it came back, it was in better than new condition, with all the hardware cleaned up. I would recommend them to anyone looking to restore some historic elements in their house. They also fixed a historic built in bench in our entry way and they will be replacing some broken beading on our stairs. These costs were included in the price above.

Exceptional service! Our son built an end table for his room while in school but it was not finished at the end of the school year. Still needed bracing and a water proof finish. He left for military so we wanted to get it finished. They went way above and beyond to complete his table. It is perfect and will last him for years thanks to Custom Furniture Works. Can't say enough good things about them,true craftsmanship. If you are in a hurry this is not your place, they are old world crafters and take pride in their skills, you will get service and work that hardly exists anymore. It is an amazing place, and I would definitely use them again. Highly recommend them for your furniture.

When I took the chair to the shop, I requested that the chair to be ready by July 25, 2014 because I was expecting company. They had it ready on time but when I went to pick the chair up the color of the new stretcher didn't look right. Jeff said he would have it restained and ready for pickup the next day. To my surprise he called later that day to say the chair was ready and that they would bring it to my house in St Charles at no charge! Jeff even called to make sure I was satisfied with the way the chair looked. I am very pleased with the finished product. They did a great job matching the stretcher and you can't even tell it was replaced. I would recommend Custom Furniture Works especially if you need specialized wood repair.

Working with Custom Furniture was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. They refinished my mother's hutch which had been damaged over the years. They took photos of the original piece, enlarged them, and created a stencil that matched the original design perfectly. They consulted me throughout the process regarding color, design, and the type of hardware to ensure it was done to my satisfaction. They offered ideas and suggestions but it was clear my thoughts and feelings were their priority. These magnificant craftsmen did an excellent job restoring my mother's hutch to the beautiful piece it was originally!!! I couldn't be happier with the work and the professionalism of the men at Custom Furniture. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of furniture repair. They are absolutely wonderful!!!!

Really nice job. 30 year old table looks brand new. The finish perfectly matches the hutch even though it is urethane. When sun reflects through the dining room window every bit of dust shows and I can't find where the chip was - really amazing. They told me that it would take 8 weeks since the finish required several stages to be done properly, so we timed the work when we could spare the table. The screws that secure the table top to the base had not ever been quite right. When they delivered the table they were able to get the top on as it was before. I was fine with that - but Jeff wasn't satisfied so he made a separate trip to rethread the screw so it would be right! This was not the lowest bid but the quality of the work justifies the higher price.

It went very well and they delivered the rocker to my home . I have gotten a lot of compliments on how great it looks.

Did not use because would have been 60 day wait.
