+ -1 moreI received the bid from my Angie's List message quickly and the office staff was easy to deal with preparing for the two move dates. The young men were professional, polite, punctual, prepared items well and the bill was slightly below the estimate so no damage to goods or houses and no surprises. A few of the items like fridge, sofa sleepers and large oak desk were challenging to navigate in older homes but they took their time and handled these like pros. When I've finished getting what I want out of the basement storage shelves and garage I intend to hire this company a third time to haul away the just accumulated over 50-years to put the house on the market. It is nice to have found a quality company for this and our future needs. My mother and sister enjoyed getting to know their moving crew and took a picture with them as the end of a long day.
Description of Work: We used a small crew of two to prepare my sister's house for my widowed mother to move in and then a larger crew to actually distribute her household goods to four local family members and move what she was keeping to my sister's.

We have had national carriers move us and College Hunks beat them hands down. We will use them again and would recommend them.

+ 1 moreI don’t think there is a lot they could do to improve, I consider that they did a pretty good job. Maybe they could have been a little bit faster. We had a problem in the moving of the refrigerator. That problem later got solved by somebody delivering a dryer to us, they knew what to do. These guys didn’t know what to do. General speaking, they did a good job, just not a great job. I thought they did a pretty good job with some rather heavy items. I know they were cheaper than the other company was.
Description of Work: We used College Hunks. They moved us from an apartment to the condo where we are at now. They did something else for us. We have a couple of bedrooms that we had the carpeting taking out of and all of the staples and stuff pulled out of the flooring. We had them do it, because in addition to moving, they also do stuff like that. It was like non-professional construction work or demolition. I think it was kind of like light weight type work. I don’t think you could hire them to tear a house down, but you could to do the little things like remove the carpet and stuff and pull staples out of the floor. They removed carpet from 2 rooms. When we sold the house and we didn’t have the condo, so we moved into an apartment and we had put a bunch of stuff into storage. After we closed the house and moved stuff out of storage into the condo and that was pretty heavy stuff. There were several very heavy woodworking tools and it all had to go down into the basement.

+ -1 moreWONDERFUL! Best price after getting 4 quotes. Acutally came out to our home to give an accurate quote (as opposed to having to go room by room and describe furniture = painful). We needed everything moved out on Monday and kept overnight (took 6 hrs) and then moved in after closing on Tuesday with unload (took 3.25hrs). Didn't upcharge like the other companies to do the overnight - 2-day move. Under the original quote by 30 min. Professional WONDERUL gentlemen came and moved our family.

+ 0 moreTerrible...they just about tipped a rack with $20,000 in bicycles on it. The price they quote on the phone seems to be automatically the lowest price they charge...$113.00 approx. Real bill was $213.00 and they wanted a tip besides (they were not too proud to ask). They started with a much higher rate and I suggested that this was outrageous. I paid the $213.00....not happy and I would never recommend them. I don't know if you would call this bait and switch, but certainly unethical in my mind.
Description of Work: Needed a couch and giant screen projection TV discarded along with an old chaise lounge and rocker as well as broken apart deck furniture (aluminum).

John and Shaun were our movers and Shaun called the day before to confirm the appointment and then called right before they left for our job to make sure they understood the work order. After they finished in Wentzville, they called again when they were about 10 minutes from our house to notify us of their arrival. They introduced themselves upon arrival and did the work promptly. Because the job took less than the 2 hour minimum charge, they asked if there was anything else they could move but unfortunately we didn't have any other work
Description of Work: We hired College Hunks to pick up a queen sized mattress & box springs from a friend in Wentzville and deliver it to our house in Maryland Heights. They also placed a king sized mattress and box springs on our friend's bed and took our old set outside to be picked up by the trash company.

+ -1 moreThe movers were punctual, professional in appearance and polite. They went over what was to be moved. BUT then they presented a form showing what they do not take care of, which after 3 different calls to the office before the move was NEVER discussed with me. Since I am a single person a couple of things concerned me. Like not removing headboards or breaking down beds, not disconnecting or reconnecting any type of appliance and if something is already dismantled for moving, they will not put it back together (i.e. legs from a table). Fortunately my general contractor was available to take care of these matters.
