+ 3 moreI believe all projects went very well. I have cites my experiences in the previous section
Description of Work: I began working with Mike Basile and Eric Herter in 2008 when they removed, hauled off and disposed of the existing tie wall on the west side of my home. They removed the established hydrangeas and saved them to transplan into new planting area. They installed approximately 129 square feet of a two terraced, capped Versa-Loc strone wall. The approximate dimensions of this side wall are 5'at a 3' height and 5'at a 2' height. A slotted drain tile (like a French drain) was installed under clean rock to catch the water behind the wall. A filter fabric was installed around the drainage system to prevent topsoil from clogging the drain. The terraces behind the wall were filled with the excavated soil and topsoil was addred at necessary. The hydrangeas were tranplanted the the bed covered with double ground oak bark mulch. At that same time two existing planting areas were cleaned and the existing landscape tie timbers were removed and hauled away. These two beds were edged with Natural Cobblestone edging and covered with landscape fabric and natural stone. I was extremely pleased with the projects and had them return in 2009 to my mother's home for landscaping. In 2009 My Mother's back patio bed was cleaned, the existing plants were removed, haluled off . Her existing hydrangeas (3 plants) were relocated to the newly topsoiled clean bed. Approximately 40' of cobblestone edging was installed around the perimeter of the bed. An additional bed by the patio was cleaned, the existing plants were removed, hauled off. Hostas were planted in this bed. Eric Herter was in charge of this project and again we were extremely pleased. In 2010 I worked again with Eric Herter on the landscaping of my courtyard in the front of my home. They sprayed the unwanted ground cover with a commercial grade round-up to weaken the plants. On a later visit they removed, hauled off and disposed of the unwanted plants, weeds, leaves and debrise. They worked compost into the soil to create an ideal growing environment and added topsoil to the beds. They graded the area to ensure the proper slope and installed weed guard. They installed trap rock under the exiting Japanese maple and matching decorative gravel to the remaining bed areas. They took up and existing Mexican beach pebbles and re-stalled the pebbles and a stone path from the door at the garage to the main walk ways. They planted 2 pink knockout roses, 1 spires, 2 false cypress, 1 blue spruce, 7 Japanese painted ferns, 5 bears breeches, 7, astible, and 5 hostas. At the same time an additional landscape project was completed on the left side of my house. Again the bed preparation was the same. Cobblestone edging, steel edging and natural stone was installed. One weeping Japanese maple, 3 hydrangea's, 3 iteas, 6 hostas and 5 Lenten roses were installed. At this time, the irrigation specialist, Mark Howell installed an irrigation system to the lawn and landscaping areas. In the lawn areas he and his crew member installed the following: 12, 4" pop-up sprinklers, 4 1" valves, 300 ft of 1" PVC pipe,1, 12 Station controller, 200 ft of 13 strand 18 guage wire, and 1 master valve. In the landscape areas they installed: 35 12" micro spray assemblies, 2 1" valved, and 200 ft of 1/2" poly pipes. All jobs have been done to my satisfaction. In 2011 Eric Herter worked with my nieghbor and myself on a drainage problem between our houses. Again, they removed, hauled off and disposed of the turf between the two properties. They installed various sized and small natural stone boulders to create a bed edge and water break designed to direct water as it comes down the hill through the turf towards the low point between the two homes. From this low point they installed a dry creek bed that extends to the wood line. The creek is approximately 4" wide and larger boulders are installed at the top of the creek. Smaller boulders were used along the sides of the dry creeek. The rest of the area between the two homes is filled with Meramec gravel over felt. I also had Meramec gravel installed over commercial grade week guard felt under my deck. I have been very pleased with the work performed by Basile Landscaping and plan to have them complete another project this spring.
