Description of Work: We have an ongoing relationship with this company. This is related to an excellent experience in designing our yard to be low maintaince. After the initial work, they come twice a year to tidy the beds, refresh the mulch, etc. Very professional and responsive.

Description of Work: when they gave me a bid for my lawn,i was excited since they underbid the job by $20 from another company.how nice it was to come home from work and see my yard the best it's looked since i moved in.i couldn't be more excited.i was only going to use them for 1-2 cuts but i think i'll be using them every two weeks from now on.these guys have a high rating for a reason! thanks

Description of Work: I had a water drainage problem resulting in standing water in the backyard and my yard was sinking. Eric responded in a timely manner and discussed thoroughly the problem as well as his expertise as to how to fix it. We agreed on the procedure and he/Basile emailed me a quote with a few choices for me to make: i.e., seeding vs sod. We agreed on a start date, and Eric and crew arrived when they said they would. This past summer was very hot, and the crew worked hard for two whole days, digging, trenching and laying pipe. The crew was knowledgeable and carried out Eric's instructions. In the end, after sod was laid, watered, etc., and keeping in mind 100 degree temperatures, it finally rained. Everything worked just the way planned. I was very happy. The only complaint I had, and was discussed with Eric, was that in spite of faithful watering, the sod in major areas did not take. I would have to spend an additional $400 to have it redone with no guarantee of any more success. Eric was quite clear that they would not/could not guarantee the sod. When he and I discussed the problem, I mentioned that there were a lot of grasses which were not "yard grass" - he said he could not guarantee that nutgrass, etc. wouldn't be mixed in. I have since tried reseeding on my own; we shall see. All in all, Basile did what we agreed on, they have been paid in full, but I learned a lot. I am still unhappy that the grass/sod was up for interpretation as to what kind of grasses. Overall, the job went as scheduled, and has performed well.

Description of Work: Because some other reviewers had said that this company would do small jobs I called about the replanting of a small flower bed (about 3' X 4'). Guess what? Some jobs are too small. He wouldn't even come out and look at the job because it would cost too much money to drive from Kirkwood to Affton. He was very nice about it, but..

Description of Work: We asked Mike Basile to submit a bid on landscaping walls around 3 sides of our house and laying sod in one area of our yard. Mike was very pleasant to work with and very responsive to questions. He had some very good ideas about how to proceed. He definitely seemed to know his business. In the end, his price was higher than we had wanted to spend, but we otherwise would have hired him without reservation.
