We started up at $551 but he knocked off $300. That's my complaint. So, I'm really happy. He did a good job. Professionalism was very fine. I've used him two or three times.

They did a great job. They cleaned the coils on the outside and made sure everything was working great. They've done a wonderful job from the beginning. They're always professional, and I'm so happy with their work. Jerry is unique because he has his own brand, and there's a 10 year warranty on the parts and the unit.
Description of Work: They came out and did an annual service check for us. We bought a new system from them two years ago.

In August 2014 our AC went out - Jerry Kelly came out very promply on a Saturday, and performed services and added freon, totalling a little over $800. We signed up for the annual service club, and in December of 2014 they came back out to do start up service on our furnace. I was told there was a hole in our heat exchanger, but it was small and they weren't detecting any gas, so we didn't have to replace right now, but probably would within the next year. I was told to watch my carbon dioxide levels. In spring of 2015 they came back out to do "startup" services on our AC, and we were told that we must have a leak somewhere because we needed significant freon again. They added the freon, and suggested we needed a new unit. We paid nearly $500 for freon this time. They came out and quoted us for a new AC and Furnace, since "we have a hole in our heat exchanger". Since the AC and furnace were only 7 years old - we got another bid. The sales person from the other company suggested that we should have someone else take a look at the units before we just buy new ones, since our system wasn't that old. I had a 3rd company come out and look at the units. He couldn't find a hole in the heat exchanger, and told me that if there was one, he was legally required to shut off the gas to my house. He also couldn't find anything but a minor leak in our AC system, nothing that would warrant a lot of freon. He asked how much freon had been put in over the last year. Interestingly...Jerry Kelly did not put how many pounds of freon on the invoice - just a dollar amount. Also...they did not put anywhere on the invoice that there was a hole in my heat exchanger. They just told me it was there. Guess they didn't want to leave a paper trail of their lies. If you actually need a new unit - their prices are great and they are one of only a few companies that will do service calls 7 days a week (handy when it's not working on a Saturday in August in St Louis)....but beware of claims you need a new system...and watch them when they put in freon, and ask for how much they put in.
Description of Work: Added freon to ac, did "start up" maintenance on furnace.

We received a call about 30 minutes ahead of when our technician was expected to arrive. Jeff arrived as expected. Jeff was very nice told me what he need from me, and asked if I had any concerns. Jeff was at our home for approximately 2 hours check our furnaces and performing the assessment. We reviewed the results and opted to let Jeff replace the blower starter on the second furnace, another technician with Jerry Kelly had replaced the starter on the other furnace over the summer. Jeff was very professional but definitely had a sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed having Jeff in our home to make us aware of any potential issues with our furnace. The pricing listed includes the annual maintenance price for two furnaces and the installation of the new starter.
Description of Work: Completed a furnace clean and check for both of our furnaces. Performed an assessment on both of our furnaces. The technician also replaced a blower starter that was not performing optimally.

We get maintenance from Jerry Kelly twice a year for furnace/air conditioner. Their techs are always professional and knowledgeable. I'm in a maintenance club where I pay monthly, so I don't pay when they do the maintenance calls. However, every time they find something that will cost $200-300 to fix. Recently, they just wanted to clean a part in the furnace, and they wanted $249 to do it! Way too many "extra" things thrown in each time. I can't afford those prices.

So after the tune up, I came home that night and the house was 80 degrees and the A/C was not running. They immediately sent another technician out who walked to the side of the house and them came back to tell me that 1) All he did was set down his equipment next to the unit and it came on. I thought great .. but no, he thought he better check it. About 10 minutes later he comes back and tells me that the electrical outlet that the unit is plugged into is bad and that's why my A/C quit working. He told me that he could not UNPLUG the unit because it was stuck in the outlet. I couldn't verify this because it was behind the unit and a bunch of bushes - but made sense to me. He quotes a cost of $600 to replace the outlet. WELL .. I happened to have an electrician coming to my house the next day to work on some other issues at the house and I had him check the outlet. He walked right up to it, unplugged the A/C unit and told me there was nothing wrong with that outlet. He also said that as an electrician the cost would be at the MAX only $250 to replace the outlet and more than likely less than that. Needless to say I did NOT replace the outlet and my A/C has been working fine ever since. Felt like a SCAM to me. Buyer Beware!!
Description of Work: The technician came out to a tune up service on our A/C - it had been working fine prior to the tune up. I came home that afternoon and it was not working and 80 degrees in our house. I called them back and they came out that night to find out what was wrong. T

We came home from an out of town trip to find our A/C barely blowing out cold air. Desperate to get it fixed, I called the first company I found on Google in Maryland Heights. When I called, I spoke to Allison and explained the problem. We had just bought the house 10 months ago and really had no clue about what might be wrong with it. Allison explained that since the A/C was only a few years old, the parts were probably still under warranty and that I should check the unit itself for the company name and warranty information. Sure enough, there it was. She explained that they would be more than happy to come out but that it would void our warranty with the other company and probably cost us more money. Allison advised that I contact that company and if they were unable to assist to call her back and they would get us taken care of. Luckily, the other company was able to come out within an hour and fix the A/C. It's not every day that you find a company that has enough integrity to steer a potential customer in a direction that ultimately loses the company money. Allison was kind and professional. I even had a follow up call from Jason today in which he wanted to make sure that our issue had been resolved. This kind of customer service is so rare that when it happens, it leaves a huge impression. I will absolutely use Jerry Kelly for any future heating or air conditioner needs I might have and will recommend them to anyone. Thank you all so much!

PROCEED WITH CAUTION.........The technician told me that our blower motor in my furnace was out and that the cost to fix the issue would be between $1500-$2000. He said he would never sink this kind of money into a system that is 13 years old. He also told me that our air conditioning unit coils outside were burnt and unrepairable. Then he explained that he could replace the entire system with a "budget" system for around $7700, or a "middle of the road" system for a little over $11,000. Naturally, I got a second opinion and another service provider before spending this kind of money and I was happy and disappointed at the same time to discover that the other provider was able to fix the furnace problem for a mere $350 and that the coils on the a/c needed to simply be cleaned. The system is now working fine. Seems that the technician was less than honest with me about what I actually needed, which is greatly unappreciated. An obvious attempt to dupe me out of thousands of dollars. I'll never call this company for service again. Get a second opinion.
Description of Work: The technician came out and looked at our furnace and air conditioner after I called because the a/c stopped working.

It went well. And by well I mean they got the AC back up and running. Jeff was AMAZINGLY professional and explained everything in a very no-nonsense consultative manner. While we were not happy with the news (we have a 21 year old system on old freon) he did his best to lessen the potentially costly blow. We are going to have them come out for a new HVAC system consultation in one week. Great experience.

We received an appointment window of 11 - 3 and got a call from the company around noon that the technician was in route. I'm not sure how long it was but it took awhile for the technician to arrive but it was at least 45 minutes. The technician spent 15 to 20 minutes downstairs with the furnace. When he came upstairs he told me that the blower motor was bad and that the blower wheel was stuck on and would not likely come off so that would need to be replaced as well. He said that he couldn't even get it to heat up so he really thought we should just replace it. I asked what the cost of the repair would be and he said it would be about $1200. I then asked him what the cost of a new furnace would be and he said well about $11,000 to $15,000 to which I about had a stroke! He said that would be for a new furnace and a/c but the furnace alone would be between $5000 and $7000. I told him I felt like that was too high and I wanted to get some additional bids. When my husband came home he was furious! Prior to the Jerry Kelly technician "diagnosing" the issue the furnace would actually run you just had to watch it and make sure the blower motor kicked on; after he cut wires and removed screws it wouldn't run at all. My husband called Jerry Kelly and they sent the technician back out. He first tried to make excuses about what he had done but my husband was very clear that regardless of what he needed to do to complete a "diagnosis" he should have left the equipment in at least a good of condition as it was when he arrived. The technician put everything back in working order and installed a new starter capacitor however NOTHING was done beyond that to show any apology for what they did. In the end we both feel like 1.) the technician was intending to take advantage of the "wife" of the house! 2.) we do not believe that Jerry Kelly really cares about customer service! and 3.) based on the quotes we have received from other companies Jerry Kelly is one of the highest priced HVAC companies in the area. Its hard enough to pay a high price for quality but to pay a high price for poor customer service and poor quality is just plan dumb, and since I am not a dumb person I will be taking my HVAC business elsewhere! I also would never recommend them to any friends or family!

Response from Jerry Kelly Heating & Air Conditioning
[Member Name Removed], Thank you for expressing your apparent dissatisfaction with your service experience. I am the gentleman that answered your husband’s call two evenings ago. We value feedback and handle all client concerns with utmost sense of urgency. Your account of these events is simultaneously surprising and confusing. In fact, in reviewing the timeline of events, I have actually acknowledged and expressed my sincere gratitude for level of customer service that our support team and technician provided to you and your family in this short process. Here’s why… Your husband ([Member Name Removed]) called into our office to report a no heat situation at 8:47AM on 2/24/15 stating that there was a potential issue with your blower motor. (We record all inbound and outbound calls for quality assurance so I have reviewed them.) [Member Name Removed] called a second time a short while later to provide your cell phone number as he would not be available for the appointment. Our customer support team handled both calls in a highly professional manner and quickly scheduled you for a same day appointment with a window of 11AM-3PM. Further, we provided a courtesy call when the technician was leaving his prior call to alert you that he was on his way to your home. The NATE certified technician arrived well within the window provided (just a few hours after your initial call) at 1:05PM on a very cold day in the middle of a heavy demand heating break down day. We prioritized you at your request. Upon arrival, our technician found that indeed the blower was not working. He spent approximately 45 minutes performing a complete diagnosis of why the system was not functioning properly and a safety inspection (at no cost) of your 20 year old heating system. Your assertion that it was working upon arrival defies logic-- if it were, you wouldn’t have had a need to call us. You do, however, correctly describe the findings and repair recommendation of the technician in your first paragraph. These are listed in detail on your invoice for your convenience and our records. Although it is never a pleasant experience to be without heat, especially in the middle of a winter freeze, customers are always provided options for repairs and replacement as recommended. While few people enjoy the idea of having to spend money on a significant repair or replacement, all clients must feel confident that recommendations are made only in their best interest. Like any service organization, wholesale parts costs are a small consideration in terms of that investment and not remotely reflective of a reasonable retail price to perform the service. In fact, we wish that they could be lowered to save all clients money. Contrary to your depiction, both you and your husband, made sure to let us know (myself included)that his father was “licensed in the business” and would be performing the repairs. A quick google search identifies him as possessing these potential skills. You have many options when having work performed and this is certainly one of them. It does pose the obvious question of why call a professional organization in the first place? Getting back to your service experience….another representative of our company followed up your service visit with a client satisfaction call--a standard courtesy we provide after each service call--to ensure that you were happy with the level of service provided. (Your husband) returned that call at 5:50PM that same evening. To describe his tone as irritable would be the nicest way to do so. With a strong sense of urgency, that unfortunate member of our support team found the closest manager available and that happened to be me. She described his call and dissatisfaction with the capabilities of our technician. I called back immediately as requested. Here’s where it gets interesting… I listened to [Member Name Removed] concerns and, between his somewhat scary rants and inappropriate insults projected towards our technician and company, assured him that it is our standard practice to always leave every home and system better than we found it. He said that he wouldn’t be paying any amount to do so. There’s always a potential for us to improve and perhaps something may have been done incorrectly. I assured him that I would send the technician back to your home to speak with him, walk him through his process, and address any concerns and do so at no cost. [Member Name Removed] demanded that it happen immediately. I weighed the safety of the technician, given [Member Name Removed] state-of-mind, for a brief moment. I erred on the side of the client and asked our dispatch department for an ETA and told him that he would be sent immediately rather than complete his evening drive home. He arrived back to your home within 25 minutes of that call at 6:10PM. This time, upon arrival, our technician was escorted down to the furnace by your visibly and audibly upset husband. He wishes to express his gratitude for your admonishment to [Member Name Removed] to “be nice.” This time the findings were very straightforward. There were indeed rusted and stripped screws left with the unit. Those screws were the original screws found inside your 20 year old furnace. As a COURTESY to you, the technician had replaced all of those with brand new metal screws and he showed them to your husband. The furnace motor was indeed working on arrival but doing so intermittently. As AN ADDITIONAL COURTESY, the technician replaced the motor starter at no charge and re-explained to your husband what had been previously explained to you. He also demonstrated that no wires were “cut” and in reviewing the wiring realized that the humidifier wire was not properly connected. Although he took responsibility for not tightening it, he did so to avoid further verbal abuse as the system had obviously been tinkered with in your husband’s review efforts. Here’s the inconsistency of your account…. 1. You state that you felt that “the wife” of the house was intentionally being taken advantage of. Yet you were on the telephone with your husband discussing your options at the time of the appointment. Then again, the technician arrived to explain everything in person to your husband that same evening. You made it clear on a number of accounts that you had family in the business. The intent that you describe defies logic and these factual, proven accounts. If this were the case, wouldn’t a technician simply offer a replacement without providing a list of repairs options? 2. You state that you “do not believe that Jerry Kelly really cares about customer service” YET you were given immediate priority in the middle of a cold winter day and our demand season TWICE in the same day with TWO outbound customer satisfaction calls and the quickest addressing of a concern that could have occurred in any customer service situation followed by the most immediate resolution and time frame for a technician arriving to your home that I have personally ever heard of. It was equivalent to 9-1-1 Emergency Service after your husband verbally accosted our team members. FURTHER-the technician that you insulted performed FREE work and NO COST to return and explain your situation a second time. If the: 5 separate calls, 2 urgent visits, free work, all while politely retaining a smile and calm demeanor in the face of a belligerent and ill-informed client don’t qualify as WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE; your standards must be significantly above the average perfectionist--including my significant other. We’re the largest sole-focused residential service company in the area having operated here for over 38 years. Thankfully many thousands of clients annually would happily disagree. 3. You state that we are “one of the highest priced HVAC companies in the area.” and are undoubtedly an expert in trade service pricing. We are a service business that provides solutions in the hvac field. We are not your father-in-law or some guy with a license and truck. We provide services for thousands that depend on us as do 75 plus families here that do so for their livings. They/we can only make a living by building a business that provides valuable services like those performed here in your case to all of our clients. Certainly not by installing cheap parts or making poor decisions: such as to spending any amount fixing major components on inefficient, 20-year old system. The cost of providing the level of service offered 8AM to 8PM every day of the week with live employees to service you is probably not a consideration of yours in this comparison as we are aware no other organization in the area that provides this service. Again, the obvious question: if your intent was a cheap fix by your father-in-law, wouldn’t anyone be a higher priced alternative and why would you bother calling to begin with unless he could not provide the necessary level of service to you at the time?? At no time or by no means would we ever call or refer to you as ”dumb.” This would not be a word uttered (aloud) by any member of our team about any client, we value each in our ability to feed our families and that is by no means dumb. The technician actually complimented you personally. Aggravated, unreasonable, hostile, impossible, ill-informed, outlandish, unbelievable, and a few other fitting adjectives come to mind about your situation. Our lessons and best parting wishes…. Although we are not happy about the nature of this situation or your personal experience, we are also understanding. We’ve learned that pleasing every single individual, all-the-time with our exceptional service is a noble but somewhat impractical effort. As such, we have marked your account as “do not service” in the future and have taken care of your last point for you. We sincerely wish you the best in your endeavors and your system the best with your father-in-law or whomever has the pleasure of working with you next.

Called Pat at Jerry Kelly on Saturday and she scheduled Sunday appointment - she was very polite and gave us initial quote. Technician, Ronan, arrived on time and was very polite and courteous. Replaced thermostat and then did a thorough inspection and servicing of furnace. Inspection revealed major repairs needed on furnace. In that furnace and air conditioner were over 12 years old gave us an awesome price for new energy efficient furnace and air conditioner. Installation scheduled and done next day. The courtesy and professionalism of this organization is superior to most companies we have dealt with We highly recommend them.

did not ask me about location of eshaust flue, which is a 4" PVC pipe sticking out of the middle of my house (and siding) facing my backyard, which looks terrible. If I had been asked, I would have had it placed along the side of the house, where it would not been seen. Also the PVC pipe is open to birds, insects, bees to nest in...no covering over opening at all. Contacted Kelly with my concerns, they came back and fixed problems.....totally satisfied !!

I have nothing but good things to say about the folks at Jerry Kelly Heating and Cooling. Every part of the process was performed as expected. They replaced both of our furnaces, air conditioning units, humidifiers, thermostats (smart & remote control), coils, and some of the ducts. They made it simple for us to get a building permit and inspection. They told me it would take two days and it did. They covered the floors and their shoes before coming in. They cleaned up after they finished. They charged exactly the amount they said. The equipment and work seem excellent, and we got a 10-year parts and labor warranty. I met three of their servicemen during installation and two others during their follow-up inspection. All five of these gentlemen we easy to talk to, enjoyed what they were doing, and were genuinely interested in our satisfaction. They are coming back in the spring, at no extra cost, to make sure the air conditioners are fully functional. The lady answering their phones was also friendly and helpful. The company has sent us a couple thank-you notes, which we appreciate. I would not hesitate referring them to our friends and neighbors.

Ben S. called to say he was on his way, arrived at the scheduled time. Put on his booties to protect the floors. Immediatley started to work. Very personable and clean and neat. Performed the required service and informed me of the results. Everything checked out "ok". Have been using Jerry Kelly for many years, they installed my furnace and air conditioner system. Will continue to use them in the future.

The individual who came was very professional and kind. If I did not understand something, we was more then willing to explain it. He would work with me until I understood. The system is just over a year old so there was nothing wrong with it. He just cleaned everything out and made sure it was working.
Description of Work: Today Jerry Kelly came out to a maintenance check on our ac/heater. When we bought the system a little over a year ago, we signed up for this service and we are extremely grateful for it. They helped us out when our ac/heater completely died and they continue to help make sure our system is in excellent condition.

We have been using them for the past year. It's been very good. They have good customer-service. They are very acceptable. They have 24/7 service so if anything goes wrong, you can definitely contact them and they have somebody usually on call. Their people are fantastic. Jim is usually who we get as a technician. He has been wonderful. He is very accommodating and very understanding. He is also reasonable and very aware on things that you need and gives us a little more of a time frame.
