He came out and said I had a hole in the system in the basement in the air handler. There is something on the contract that says even though they found a problem here, there is possibly some other problems. They cover themselves this way. Originally he quoted me $2000. Then the salesman wanted $4000 for air handler. I had someone else quote me about $1200. I would never have him again. They try to up-sell me on things I don't need.

Member, since the work you are reviewing was performed in 2008, over four years ago, I'm really not sure where to begin. Obviously you weren't happy with the service that we performed when our technician found the refrigerant leak in your heat pump and re-filling the system with refrigerant. We have always offered a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if you're not satisfied with our services, and we cannot satisfy you, we will refund your money. I do not have any record that you contacted us with your concerns. You've listed a few prices, $2,000-$4,000-$1,200, without any of the details for what the prices were for, so I cannot comment on any differences in the prices. We must base our prices on what it costs for us to deliver the services, parts, and warranties that we provide, we cannot base our prices on what other companies charge for the services and warranties that they do or do not provide. I’ve looked up your file from 2008 to see if I could find out what upset you. You state that we “try to up-sell me on things I don't need”, from the documentation that I have available, which is the original service ticket that you signed, only three items were offered to you; 1. Refrigerant. 2. A refrigerant leak search. 3. A maintenance agreement. You accepted the refrigerant and the leak search to find the refrigerant leak and you declined the maintenance agreement. Since manufacturers guidelines recommend annual maintenance on all heating and air conditioning equipment I guess I’m not sure exactly what you’re referring to that we tried “to up-sell me on things I don't need”. We offer our installations and services seven days a week 8AM-8PM for no additional charge for the convenience of our customers. Other companies may or may not provide the same services that we provide. We have chosen to be a customer focused service company and we do everything that we can to go above what any of our competition does so that we can be available for our customers when it is most convenient for our customers. I LOVE this company! Their service is EXCEPTIONAL! My ac unit quit cooling my house over the weekend. I called on Monday afternoon at 2:30 pm for a service call. There was a technician at my door by 3:45 pm! The technician was polite, knowledgeable, and very professional. I was very impressed with the respect he showed for my house (wearing booties when in the house - and holding a rag under the drill to be sure that nothing hit the floor when he installed the new thermostat). You could tell that it was a priority for him to provide the highest quality service (he took the entire outside unit apart so he could clean every part!). He made me aware of their different levels of service agreements - but did not make me feel pressured to purchase a plan. I am sitting here today - the hottest day in June since 1954 (108 degrees!) - and the temperature in my house is 73 degrees! I think that was the best $162 I have ever spent!!! Thank you Jerry Kelly!!! FYI.....this is not my only experience with Jerry Kelly. On July 4th of 2007, my ac unit quit working. I placed a service call to another company. They charged me their "holiday service charge" and told me that my ac unit could not be fixed and provided me a quote for a new unit. I decided to price shop before making a final decision. I called Jerry Kelly the same day. When I told them my sad tale, they sent a technician out that same day. They waived the service call fee since I had already paid for a call with the other company. They were able to get my unit up and running! In fact, that ac unit lasted all that summer! My unit was still working when the heat arrived the beginning of the summer of 2008. I called Jerry Kelly and had them replace the unit to avoid any down time during the hottest days of the summer. The cost of the new unit was less than the quote of the first company! This company really cares about its customers!

The whole transaction went smoothly.
Description of Work: Our air conditioner went out on a 90 degree day. I called Jerry Kelly in the afternoon and they were able to send someone out that evening to look at/repair our air conditioner. The technician came out a few hours later and told us it would cost about $1,000 in repairs for the air conditioner and that our furnace should no longer be used. The tech gave us a couple prices for a couple different efficiency furnaces and A/C units. When I told the tech that we were planning to rent out the house, he immediately dropped the price $1200 and adjusted the warranty on the 80% efficiency furnace. The next day someone came out to measure and Friday morning they was installed. Everyone was very professional and the units are working well. We even recommended Jerry Kelly to our neighbor when his furnace went out a week later.

Technician was professional and informative. Prices on parts are a bit much after doing some research on parts replaced. I paid the price due to time to go out and get parts. I have a service contract with them for spring and fall a/c, furnace tune up. Will so how fall service goes. Professionalism is there although prices are steep.

My old builder grade A/C unit has been on it's last legs for a while. I called Jerry Kelly and asked them if they could come out and check it because the upstairs had been so hot lately. They came out that afternoon and I met with the tech. He told me it was in bad shape(I already knew that but was still hoping for the best). He said they could fix it for $1100 dollars but that would just be a temporary fix. He went over some options with me and in the end I decided that we just needed to replace it and our old furnance, as they gave us a great deal. The crew came out the next day and were very polite and profressional. It took them about 8 hours to replace everything and for the first time ever my house actually feel cool! I was very impressed with their work. I will use them from now on.

The cleaning and inspection was done timely and professionally. They found a problem with one of the air conditioners and recommended replacement rather than repair, due to the age of the unit. I agreed completely. The problem was the cost of the replacement unit. They wanted $5,669.00 for a 2 1/2 ton unit with a 13 SEER rating. I thought this was very high so I priced the same size unit with two other reputable HVAC companies( Hoff & Ehrlich's) and they both gave me quotes of approximately $3,000. I was floored at the cost difference. Based on their quote I would never use Jerry Kelly again. I really feel like they were trying to screw me over. I mean really $2,669.00 difference in price, that is nearly double what the other companies bid.

The whole experience was terrible. The first guy that came out was able to restart our water heater. Said that the igniter was going out. Said wait and see if it continues to go out and it would need to be replaced. This gentleman was very nice and very helpful. Second guy came out because the pilot would not stay lit. Said that he checked the igniter and it was bad. Recommended total replacement. FIne and dandy we had that completed. We had an issue with the shower heads not functioning. Instead of saying that there could be debris in the head. Take it off and clean it. This gentleman started to go to my mom's bed room to fix it himself. I said no wait for my mom. Then he just went off. No provocation from me or my mom.

It was a Big Deal that I purchased. They did a good job. They arrived promptly and I got the appointment pretty promptly. He was very good about pointing out different things about the furnace and showing me what he was checking and what he was looking for. I had just moved here and I knew the furnace was old so I thought I should have it checked and it was in pretty good shape. They are a pretty big name in the St. Louis area and I would use them again.

my furnace went out the night before, I did try making an appointment online through their website but it kept timing out by the time i finished filling in all the info. so i called them in the morning, they showed up exactly on time, took them about 15 min to do the inspection and let me know what my options and costs would be, I opted to have the entire system replaced, furnace and AC Unit. The gentleman who did the initial call set up everything to have the system replaced including financing. He said a different crew would show up two hours later ( they did - actually earlier) the covered everything ( carpets, wore shoe covers) took them about 5 hours. cleaned everything up afterwords and explained the system to me, excellent job. only issue is the appointment link on the website

All along Mike was polite, curteous, and very acomodating. Jerry Kelly had a form I could fill out to tell them about my scheduling experience and the service I was receiving while the workman was in my home and then seal the envelope. After Mike left I received a call from Jerry Kelly company and they asked about my service experience. Clearly they were concerned about my experience. Mike was extremely polite and understanding of me getting my kids off to school. He wore shoe protectors, and was not patronizing at all (unlike another company I've dealt with!) I deffinately call them in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal to have our furnaces inspected and filters replaced for $59 each-we have 2 systems. When I called to set up my appointment the one who answered the phone wasn't sure as the deal had just come out that morning and asked if he could get me to someone who knew more about it-which I appreciated. They asked if I have ever used Jerry Kelly, I told them no, and they were very polite and easy to work with. The set up was very considerate of my schedule and they were very pleasant to work with. Mike was on time. Before begining the tune up he asked if he found repairs if I wanted him to go ahead or to check with me. I told him to let me know and if they were $50 or under just to go ahead (I knew our humidifier filters needed changing.) Our furnaces don't have a pilot light, but a glow stick starter that was going bad on one of the systems and could brake at anytime (like an old lightbulb you don't know when it will happen, it just goes out one day). The other one was fine, and he told me what they look for and showed the starter stick so I could see for myself its condition. It cost $256 normally but I received an Angie's list discount and it cost $192. He also inspected and changed the 2 humidifier filters at $47 each (with Angie's list discount)

We called on a Sunday afternoon on my brother's recommendation. Our fan did not seem to be kicking on to distribute heat through the house. Our system was very old, so we knew we were probably in for a replacement scenario. Even though we called on a Sunday afternoon, they sent someone out in less than an hour. The technician looked at system and said the fan motor was burned out and would need a replacement (about $600) but that he would not recommend it as our system was so old, and could have cracks which would require it to be condemned, which he wouldn't know until the fan was replaced. We decided to look at the options of new systems. He was very forthright, not at all a hard sell. He told us there were likely cheaper systems, but once we heard about the 12 year parts and labor warranty, we felt that any price differential would be offset. We chose a 95% efficient furnace with humidifier, and new A/C unit to be installed at the same time. They came out THE NEXT MORNING! The guys were extremely efficient and courteous. No foul language. They were done before 2:30pm. Everything was left cleaner than when they got there. When they took me outside to show me the exterior vent and A/C unit, the technician stopped twice to pick up a piece of trash that was on my lawn (not his mess, mind you!). I was really impressed. Quite rare for a younger guy to have that much awareness and conscientiousness. I am noticing a much more comfortable heat, which I think must be the humidifier addition. I really like the nice programmable thermostat, and the included carbon monoxide and water detectors that they left. It's peace of mind w/ children in the house. I think we'll all sleep better and more comfortably tonight. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company, and we will be using them for the systems maintenance in the future.

We have a service agreement with them. It is a PSA Agreement that covers two times for them to come out. It covers the maintenance and all the parts and labor. They are the best in St. Charles County. They are great customer service wise. They are probably the highest trained heating and cooling guys in the area. Their rates are a little higher than most of the companies in the area. I used them for my old air conditioning unit and they were always great to come out and repair it any time. They just expanded their service hours. I think they are now 7-7. They are really good and they will be out the same day. We will definitely continue to use them.

I called the company on Thursday late hours and get schedule on friday at 12PM. Serviceman ( Mike ) reached on time and checked the whole system and within 15 minutes he figured it out that outdoor unit capacitor is bad and that's why my A/C is not working also indoor blower capacitor is week and needs to be replaced. I received excellent service and valuable tips to improve A/C performance, now my A/C is working fine and air flow is better then before. He is highly professional person. He worked outside in 105 degrees heat at that day, and also serviced outside unit.

I called Jerry Kelly over the weekend after recently having my AC "fixed" by another local company a week earlier. After looking at my system, they explained the problem and showed me what should have been done. The tech waived the service call and diagnostic (on a weekend emergency call! and was not linked to buying a new system or some other agreement) and suggested what I do next. I had read on Angie's list about the "high pressure" sales tactics and I whole-heartedly disagree. He said that I should wait to make a decision on what I want and after giving me some info and ballpark prices, actually discouraged me from buying a heat pump (I like new stuff) as it really wouldn't help me in the long run given my house size. I worried all night as I figured I would just have to pay whatever they told me as I have no idea about these types of things (and it is hot outside) and I am so glad that honest people are still in business. Given my system is toast, I am still a bit warm, but at least I still have my cold cash (unlike last week).

As far as i could tell the technician who was very professional did an adequate job of cleaning and servicing the system. He added some freon and tighten nuts in an area where there may have been a leak. However i noticed that he spent an inordinate amount of time trying to sell me on the preventive maintenance plan and also tried to sell me a surge protector for the AC compressor. He replaced an anti bacterial pad, an item i have never seen used in a hvac system before. While i am sure it is legit and may serve a purpose it struck me as a way to make money. A few hours after the tech left the house it started to get a bit warm. After some investigation i discovered that he forgot to turn the system swith back on. The system i have was installed by Jerry Kelly and i really think it was one of the most professional installation i have ever seen. They do a great job and they are very professional and hire well trained techs. Perhaps it is the poor economy but they now seem to be moving toward upselling. That makes me suspicious of any service they may tell me i might need.

We supply the first year of maintenance on our new equipment installations to help show our customers that importance. Upkeep on equipment also helps to extend the life of your system past its warranty coverage. Maintenance reduces the chance of you experiencing an untimely and unexpected breakdown. Finally, cleaning and maintaining your equipment keeps your 12 year extended warranty coverage current and intact. I apologize that you felt your cleaning was only adequate and the technician left the switch off on your furnace. They were excellent. They finished the Sunday before Christmas. They came with a crew of about eight. One was in charge of one furnace and the other was in charge of the other furnace. They came in when they said they would. It was early morning on a cold day. They were efficient and very fast. They had both of those furnaces installed by about 6 pm. They gave us a good price and they gave us some money off because we agreed to have it done on a Sunday. They are open seven days a week and they didn't have a job that Sunday so they had these two crews that weren't doing anything. We chose to have it done on Sunday and it didn't bother us. They were very responsive and they maintain our furnaces every year.
