Jerry Kelly Heating & Air Conditioning

I called Jerry Kelly out to clean the furnace on a house I just bought. The furnace is 17 years old so I wanted to make sure it was clean and would make it through the winter. The technician was very thorough with the cleaning. I also decided to replace the thermostat since the current one was old and not very accurate. The technician programmed the thermostat with me there, asking me what temperature I would like at different times and different days of the week.

.Arrived right on schedule. Spent about an hour inspecting and cleaning our 2 furnace units. Inspected and cleaned dehumidifier. Gave a very thourough report on condition of units. Changed furnace filters.

Let me start with the positive. They were timely and able to get out to my house within 3 hours of calling. The only issue I had with this aspect is that they told me they would call when they were on their way, which didn't happen. He just showed up. I was home, so no harm on this piece. He was friendly and polite. He quickly accessed the issues and determined that my inducer draft assembly needed to be replaced at a cost of 849 plus the 79 service fee. He went on to explain the "membership" and that if I signed up for $29 per month for my first unit and then an additional $23 per month for the 2nd unit, I would receive a certain % off of todays bill, plus a reduced service fee. This would also get me a full cleaning and check of both units twice a year along with new filters and discounts off of parts when needed. So, if I agreed to the membership, the total ended up being around 750, And then $52.00 per month after for the "membership". Unfortunately for him, my gut told me NO WAY. So, I politely told him that I had someone that could order the part and do the work for me. Now, here is where the difficult part comes into play. After he left, I called another company, who was recommended to me by a friend. The next nice man came out and within 30 seconds determined that the wire to the so called "bad part" was loose. He reconnected and bam, It worked. He also found another wire that was "disconnected", so that basically if I would have had someone come out and replace the so called "bad part", the furnace still would have not worked because of another disconnected wire. Now, the question in my head is this, what was really wrong with my furnace? Did that wire just somehow disconnect itself? And let's say that's the case, how does a 2nd wire somehow disconnect itself? Or did the Jerry Kelly service guy just not know troubleshoot for something like that? I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the last question is what happened. Unfortunately, I will never know. But, what I do know, is that this will not be a company I will ever call again. Sorry guys, but this is how the "service" industry gets a bad name. 2/24/14 - as a follow up, I did speak with a customer service manager, Brian. He was friendly and took down all of my concerns. He did follow up and stated that they addressed the issue with the tech that came to my house and he claimed that he disconnected the plug because he was worried that it would over amp. The odd thing to me about this response is that the plug wasn't disconnected. It was the wire to the plug that was pulled loose, so I'm pretty sure that if he was trying to protect the furnace over amping, he would have just "disconnected the plug" as he claimed he did, and not pulled the wires out fo the plug. Appreciate the follow up and hoping they do address this with the tech so that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

I'm glad I did because 5 of 6 heat exchangers had cracks in them making the furnace unsafe for use. The Jerry Kelly technician painstakingly showed me everything he found and what he was doing and asked for permission before doing anything. He quoted me a price for repair and that was the price I paid. Of course, there was some attempted upselling involved, but it was to be expected and not obnoxious. Whenever it's time to replace the HVAC which, in our 17-year old home will not be far off, I will call Jerry Kelly.

They showed up on time and they were very professional (although it wasn’t in a labeled vehicle). I’m inclined to use them again based on past work they’ve done, but I’m unsure if I’d use them in the near future.

All in all, very good. Michael explained for a tune-up, the quality were very good, and he was courteous, very pleasant & friendly. I'd recommended.

They were fine. I have used them in the past and they are a good company. They are a good quality service. They are a little high, but they provide a good service and do not try to sell me anything. I will continue to use them. I have them come out to do yearly check-ups on my heater and air conditioner.

Bruce was my salesman and he was AMAZING!!! Very thorough, informative and talk about service....I was moving my air conditioner to a new location and I had a lot of stuff sitting on the side of my house,,,he moved it all himself to make room for the installers to come in. I didn't ask him to do it....he just did it. He responded immediately to all my emails and calls. I was impressed to the point that I thought maybe this is too good to be true! I made a decision to go with them after receiving bids from 3 other contractors. Great decision! They came in a did an amazing job, totally protected the flooring from the front door to the a/c and worked all day. The installers were very professional and informative and respectful! I work with a lot of contractors with my job and these guys were tops! If you go with them...you can't go wrong! I never thought I would be writing a review like this, I'm so skeptical but they really proved me wrong. Kudos to Jerry Kelly!!!!!

I haven’t had a bad experience with them. They’re excellent. They’re very professional and thorough. They do a great job.

He did a good job but he tried to sell us a bunch of stuff. He tried to get us to buy a new heater. The price was kind of high. They didn't clean up very well.

They were very good. They got here on time and it was very good. He has 7-day a week service and you can call him on the weekend and that's not overtime. He just scheduled his guys and they seemed do their job. I'm really happy with their service and they seemed to know what they were doing. They were very friendly and I asked him a couple of questions, he was very helpful. His office called up the next day for a review on how the service and they leave a survey and that sort of thing.

He was nice and informative. But we didnt get the filter replaced like the offer said-unless there was some fine print I missed about restrictions-and he told us the wrong size filter to buy.

The service technicians were very nice. The first technician to visit didn't find a problem. So then he returned a second time with no charge. After that visit, they sent an older, very experienced technician who was also very nice. When he was done cleaning it and disassembing everything, he answered many questions, and made suggestions for how we could improve our system's efficiency at very little cost.

This is going to come across as a less than stellar review, so first let me state the positive aspects of my experience with Jerry Kelly Heating and Cooling. First of all, their installers are the most qualified in the area. They do good work. I really don't think that can be questioned. My problems with this company stem entirely from their aggressive sales tactics. The truth is that I have a 16 year old furnace that I know would likely have needed to be replaced within the next 5 to 7 years. However, I could have kept my furnace running through the winter with a simple $200 part, and I likely would have done this but for the extremely aggressive sales pitch. To be clear, the salesman was never unprofessional, which is one of the reasons that I have such a hard time qualifying this review. One thing that really annoys me in retrospect is that I was told that my payment would be 150 dollars per month if I financed it through Wells Fargo. Well, what they failed to mention is that it would be a $150 minimum payment on a Wells Fargo credit card --- that's not really the same thing. The words "credit card" and "minimum payment" were never mentioned during our discussion about financing. Granted, it is MY FAULT for not asking more questions. I accept responsibility for that. However, if I were a sales person who was interested in being honest, I would definitely mention the terms of the financing more clearly -- and this isn't a review about me; it's a review about Jerry Kelly. Would I use them again? Well, if I had an older furnace that went out in the middle of the winter, or an older AC that went out in the middle of the summer, I would find someone who was more interested in doing simple repairs and less interested in selling brand new units. Otherwise, be prepared for a hard sell.

They are easy to work with. They do really good follow-up to make sure you are happy. We did have one minor issue and they came right back out and took care of it. They are very responsive.

The technician was pleasant and polite and very informative. He did a thorough job of cleaning and checking out our heating system. He discussed with us future maintenance suggestions and advice on operating our ac efficiently. We were very pleased with the overall experience. He also left us a bag of goodies including a discount on future service.

Not much else to tell. I get a reminder twice a year to schedule the inspections (by the way...it is a monthly charge to be in the program), and a technician arrives. I have needed repairs on other occasions and Jerry Kelly is always available.

They were very professional and helpful in making a decision on the appropriate unit, and the installation went smoothly.

They fixed the old one so we wouldn't be without heat. But that fee was waived and we also got an off-season price on the new one. They were very professional and Sean was super to work with. I would definitely use these guys again.

Was the first really cold weekend of the year and our heater would not kick on. Being a Saturday, every one else I looked at were only open to noon, and we were having a party that evening. Jerry Kelly has hours 8-8 7 days a week and already had an A rating so we called them. We were the last people on the list for the day so they did not make it out until 7 but he was able to fix our heater. He was very professional and explained what was wrong and what had to be done.

During the last week of 80 degree temps, our 19 year old air conditioner stopped working. John came out within 2 hours of call to Jerry Kelly. He refilled the unit and sealed the leak.

I feel as though I did not review this company on angies list before calling and still have not. I did buy the yearly maintenance plan at a discount for next spring and fall. I truly feel like my best interests were taken in to account and I was treated with respect and a good business ethics.
