This is our maiden experience with Angie's List and first time home owner or a 116 year old home, located along a quiet pedestrian causeway. The brick pathway leading from the back door to the parking area in the alley serves as the primary access to the property. It was old, heavily worn, and unsafe. Although Green Thumb first offered me the less expensive option of merely repairing the crumbling walkway. Ultimately we opted to rip out the eyesore and start anew. Within a week of making a deposit, installation was complete. The installation looks marvelous! We especially appreciate the care taken to ensure our wobbly gate opens and closes properly. They plumbed the opposing post and secured it in place with concrete. Now the gate is stable and operates with ease. Allowing us to stratch that project off our list of future home improvements. Damage to the existing landscaping was minimal. Otherwise the work site was spotless. Green Thumb definitely lived up to their reputation for professional, quality service. This experience has given us the confidence to consult Angies List for any future home improvements!

We contracted with Green Thumb through an introductory offer - an Angie's List Big Deal for a Holland Stone patio surface. Jason came to view the site, gave an excellent presentation and followed up promptly with a proposal. For the proposal we had a good choice of color and design for the stones. The work was begun on 5/23/12 and completed on 5/28/12. There was some delay in removing the concrete portion of the area which turned out to be thicker than expected and we needed to call relative to clean up and repair of the damage done in the process of the work (some of the debris was missed and reseeding was necessary). This was all completed to our satisfaction. We are very pleased with our new patio. Green Thumb is a good company to work with.

First, the day I purchased this Big Deal, the owner immediately called and scheduled an appointment to visit my home and review the work. We set a date and he came out and assessed the job. He sent a crew of two men, a chain saw,a truck and a wood chipper out. His men were extremely hard working, did not complain with the extensive amount of work required to prune these trees, pruned all the trees extensively, cleaned up the extremely huge mess, (by chopping up the branches which were too big to place in the wood chipper), cleaned up all the debris, finished by leaf blowing my driveway clean, and did not complain at all as to the tremendous size of the job. In fact, to complete the job, the workers even worked a bit longer than the two hours just to make sure the job was done perfectly. I would give this company an EXCELLENT rating and would recommend their services very highly. The work performed by Green Thumb Lawncare N Landscape, LLC, was an OUTSTANDING value.

Unlike other grass cutters I have used in the past, I can count on Green Thumb to show up on the specified date and even at approximately the same time. They are very agreeable to fulfilling any requests you may have and you NEVER have to worry about them not showing up. They have even cut my grass when it was sprinkling to get it done as specified. I am extremely satisfied with their services and their price is one of the best I found when shopping around. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

They are easy to work with, call ahead of time, keep you informed, don't try to up charge and are friendly

I was not happy with them and not necessarily because of the work they did and the work that they did as far as I can tell was fine, but I was unhappy because of their lack of communication and when I called while I was out of town on work, they had left a phone message that said that they were going to come over and get the work done, but my yard was not ready for the work, so it was really just a waste of money because the yard had not been raked and they were still doing the soothing and fertilizing. They didn’t do much good dumping it one the yard floor and driveways. I had called them up, sent a message saying that I was not ready, but they just came out without any notice and all of a sudden there were people working on my yard. I asked one of the guys if they had got my message and he said yes, but they already had it scheduled, so they were just not very co-operative at the time. They had very poor communication and inappropriateness of coming on to my property with no notice. The overall experience was not good and they do good work, so it was just their communication and poor timing. The price was okay, their responsiveness was bad and they were very unprofessional. I would not hire them again even if they can communicate properly because they didn’t care whether I was at home or not, or that the yard was not ready.

Everything went well. There have been a few minor problems but they have been very responsive to them.

We had a problem with them. They had a hard time returning calls. When they did call and schedule what they were going to do they did not go and do it the day they said. They did not call and tell me. When they did schedule it again they could not do the work because it rained. It was basically a communication problem with them. I had a private number for one of the people. I kept calling and leaving messages. She called me back and was apologetic but I would like to know what is going on. If you schedule an appointment and can not make it I would like to know. Her thing was that she got busy during the day. I understand that but it was a communication problem. They did a fairly descent job. We did request that they pick up all of the limbs and sticks in the yard. They did some of that but they left a lot of it in the yard. Since then we have hired a private person to do the work.

It was one of the Angie’s List deal. The service they provided was fine.

I purchased crabgrass prevention from Green Thumb Lawncare N Landscape around end of February. I received call and setup appointment to have lawn treated with crabgrass prevention within next two weeks. They arrived on time and applied the crabgrass prevention treatment to lawn. They were very professional and would highly satisfy with service.

I was home the whole day waiting for them to come. I knew I wanted to see just what they did and which parts of the yard they did. I left after 5:00PM when it was nearly dark out figuring they weren't able to make it and would be back another day. Wrong. They came after 5 and I'm wondering how well they were able to see in the dark! The next day my husband and I checked the yard for the seed and lumps of soil that aerating and seeding would leave behind but saw little of either one. Knowing that it was a one time offer, I didn't follow up with them to tell them we weren't really satisfied with the results. I figured that you win some and you lose some but felt they had missed an opportunity to gain some clients. They were pretty quick when it came to contacting me within the right time frame for that type of work to be done.

Green Thumb Lawncare N Landscape comes to our home for lawn maintenance. He is at least 50 miles from me and he had no problem coming to our home to honor the big deal we purchased from him for crab grass treatment. I had a good experience with this company. He is going to come out again for another application to kill the weeds. The price was very good for the service provided.

We tried them out since it was a special on Angie's List. I found out that it takes several different lawn applications in order to kill all the weeds. The person that came out was very nice, but we just can't afford to have them come out every month. It was a fair price, but I just can't afford to do it right now. They were professional and they came when they said they would. The deal isn't what I though it was.

I was very impressed since THEY called ME right after I purchased my 'deal' to schedule an appointment. They were at my house within 3 days performing the work and then did a follow up call to make sure I was satisfied. Excellent customer service!! I WILL use them again!!

Thy were prompt and contacted me first. They applied the Fertilizer weed killer to my entire yard. I was only going to have them apply it to the Front yard. It's too early to tell how it will be. Last Summer was a scorcher, and I had lots of clover and crab grass in the Bermuda.

I use them all the time and the price was very reasonable. The work that they do is very good. They do our lawn and grass cutting, and they are here bright and early. They are very professional. I would have changed my lawn services if they were not good, but they are. I really like them.

It was a package deal. They did the work promptly and it wasn't a mess. It seemed to help the lawn from a very difficult summer with all the heat. I didn't have any issues with them.

We were satisfied. There were a few things we weren't satisfied about, but overall they were ok. There was something about doing an area, but it wasn't a big deal. I would say we were overall satisfied with them.

The mowing and trimming was fine for the first two years. The leaf removal was good. The past year the workers used larger mowers that caused some damage to the lawn. We have a steep yard and their mowers cannot mow it well. Using larger mowers, they spent less time on the mowing although the trimming was still done well. The fertilizing and weed control was not effective and some of the grass was killed.. It was a difficult year for lawns due to the heat, but we have a sprinkler system and watered consistently. They were not able to construct the pathway with flagstones in a way that was stable or acceptable to us. If you have a flat yard, they will do a good job of mowing and trimming for a reasonable price.

The office person answered the questions she was able to and as promised promptly called back with answers that required checking. I scheduled the work and two workmen arrived as scheduled to complete the aeration. Unfortunately, early on one of their aerators stopped functioning necessitating only one of the men to complete the job as the other tried to fix the broken machine. After they left it was clear (because there were no dirt plugs) that extensive areas had not been successfully aerated. I immediately called to report the problem, someone came the next day to redo the areation and seeding, but the workmanship of the job did not meet our expectation.
