Excellent. No complaints!

They were great and wonderful. He came in, did his job and that was it. I would absolutely use them again.

Mad Hatter performed all the necessary work. They also performed a LEVEL 1 inspection. However, when they were almost done, William informed me this was a pre fab fireplace and a fire hazard. He couldn't sign off on the Inspection. The previous owners had not done the correct modifications. I needed a NEW Fire safe chimney. I listened to his every word. I then stated, everything William stated was incorrect. When I bought the house, my company paid for an inspection. Along with a home inspection, by a certified company, Mad Hatter cleaned the chimney and performed the inspection. William stated I was not noted as a previous customer. I wasn't, the previous owners were the ones who contacted Mad Hatter. There were several inspection issues that had to be addressed, one being a chimney sweep and inspection, before the inspector would sign off. I would then purchase the home. I went back to my office and found the report. When I came back downstairs I was MIRACULOUSLY correct. Upon further investigation, everything was to code, and he could sign off all documentation. I contacted Mad Hatter and Mr. Mack, the owner, called me the next day. I explained everything in detail, and had a witness, who heard the conversation too. Two issues, that struck a chord with me,is the technician stated I wasn't noted as being a previous customer. Also, It was only noted that everything was to code, after I informed him, I had documentation. This really bothered me because if I was naive, or elderly, he would have sold me something I didn't need. Angie's List recently had an article about this issue in their magazine. Because of this, I would not recommend them or use them in the future. This incident jaded me.

I was beginning to worry, because the cleaners were nearly 20 minutes late. When they arrived, however, they were professional and courteous. They explained each step of the process, accompanied me in a walk through of the house, and informed me when encountering any abnormalities or difficulties. When their ladder was too short to reach the top of our chimney for an inspection, they asked to borrow one from our garage, used it, and returned it to the appropriate spot. I'm happy that they asked to use our ladder, because they found some significant problems with the chimney above the roof line. They provided me with a general estimate for repair, and then took my e-mail address to have the company send me a more formal bid. They were knowledgable and clear about both the duct cleaning and the chimney problems. There were no high-pressure sales presses to sell us more services or upgrades--just straightforward information that provided both the pros and cons of various means of remedying our problems. I couldn't be more pleased with their work.

When a technician inspects something that you yourself can't actually see, you have to trust the company and the person to be honest, and Mad Hatter has really earned my trust.

They showed up about 30 min late but called to let me know that they were stuck in traffic (approx 8:00 AM). They completed the job (on two (2) chimney's) that day.

I was given a very competitive estimate over the phone with a detailed description of how the work would be completed. the crew showed up on time and started work immediately. We moved into our home two months prior and the previous owners pets seemed to prefer using the inside of the house as opposed to the lawn. Although we had replaced the carpeting with hard wood and sealed the floors underneath; when the heat or air conditioning came on, our home smelled like a dog and cat litter box . It was truly disgusting. The guys said they could handle it and although they said it was the worst they had ever seen, they worked dilligently. They vacummed , washed, sanitized all the duct work and covers. They also cleaned and inspected our chimney and gave us a thumbs up that no repairs were needed. We can now breath in our home and my husband and son's allergies are so much better.

I found it difficult to find any company that would drive all the way to Wright City, but finally I found Mad Hatter and they had no problem making the trip. They were able to schedule their technician according to my schedule, and then when he was running a little late, the office called me to let me know. I found them to be very professional during the cleaning and inspection. Since this was being done due to a last minute request from my insurance company, I appreciated them being able to complete the work quickly, including ordering a part, and getting the work done according to my schedule. There are so few good contractors out there that work professionally and care as much about my schedule as their own. Mad Hatter is among the few good ones.

Jason did a great job, very detailed and helpful about what he was doing, what he had done, and what he had seen. Very polite and courteous as he prepared the room for cleaning by laying down a tarp.

Went very well. Jason was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable in making sure our chimney was clean and working well. He made the whole process easy.

We were very pleased with the service. Service technician arrived on time, was very professional, explained what he was doing and why. Did the hired service and gave us suggestions as to future services that would be required. Did not try to sell us something we did not need.

The sweep recommended replacing everything, including the firebox. Since I want to remodel this room anyway, I asked for referrals. He said he would have someone call me. We also looked at a brochure where I found the perfect mantel for a new fireplace to coordinate with my other furniture. When the company owner came out to look at the room, he knew nothing about this item or the brochure. The man spent at least two hours in my home, but 13 months and a couple of phone calls later, I am still awaiting an estimate. Obviously, I have given up!

Joe and Jacob arrived promptly as scheduled and did a very good job explaining what they were doing as they went. They also offered advice on how to maintain our system.

JOB WAS ADEQUATE, MUCH DUST WAS LEFT IN HOME FROM NOT SHIELDING FIREPLACE ADEQUATELY. REQUESTED ESTIMATE FOR TUCKPOINTING AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT 1 MONTH LATER.

THE COMPANY GAVE A GREAT DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES OVER THE PHONE. STAFF DOING THE WORK WAS NOT SO PROFESSIONAL, CLEANUP IN BASEMENT POOR, APPEARED SOME BASEMENT VENTS NOT TOUCHED, CUT INTO LONG DUCTS IN THE BASEMENT FOR ACCESS AND TAPED METAL ON AGAIN, LEFT ME QUESTIONING THE OVERALL DUCT CLEANING JOB.
