+ 1 moreNick and his team installed 600+ sq feet of high grade laminate in our great room and dining room. A month later we asked them to also put in a stone tile foyer floor which required a lot of work in correcting crowning in sub floor . The end result for both jobs were incredible. Their work is meticulous and perfect. They aim to please and care about details. Their pricing was the best we found and we checked many places for install. We bought all products on our own so we were only looking for installation. They worked long days to finish, they tidied up after each day. They were courteous and professional, and so knowledgeable about all types of flooring. We have given Nick's name out to several friends now. We could not be happier.

+ 0 moreEverything went terrific and as planned. Nick Motto went out of his way to fix a little extra things for us like squeaky floors at no extra charge. We did some of the work ourselves, to save a few dollars. I would recommend them, and would use them in the future if we ever need hardwood flooring again.
Description of Work: We had about 1300 square foot of carpeting removed by Motto's Flooring, and replaced with hardwood.

+ 0 moreIn one word: WOW. What a pleasure to work with a company so professional, responsive, and detail-oriented. I am a small-business owner myself and have crazy hours. Nick was thoughtful enough to do the estimate on a Saturday morning so I didn't have to miss work. He was even able to get the job done earlier than originally scheduled - how often does THAT happen?!! The installers did an amazing job from start to finish and yesterday I came home to find a beautiful new kitchen floor that will make a huge difference in terms of enjoying the house now and eventual resale. (By the way the installers did a phenomenall job with clean-up as well. You would never have known they were even there!) I have already referred Nick to a neighbor and will hire him as soon as possible again to replace the family room floor and refinish the porch floor. As a single mom I have to be very careful about my budget. This investment was worth every penny and brought me peace of mind. I made a video of the floor and have sent it to all my friends - that's how proud I am of it!
Description of Work: Installed 340 sq ft of laminate flooring in kitchen and mudroom. Did all the trim as well. Had to work across different surfaces (plywood and concrete).

Description of Work: Installed over 2500 square feet of laminate hardwood flooring. Put down additional under layment where necessary and nailed down. Removed ceramic tile from kitchen, powder room, entry, and mudd room.

+ -1 moreNick (Motto) was outstanding. He was very prompt with all his communication. The first time we talked to him, it was evident that he was extremely experienced, and very professional. He helped us with all the questions and concerns we had. He even helped us, when we made a major mistake that could of interrupted the whole job. We misunderstood what was required for us to purchase before the job began (completely our fault), so when he showed up on the first day - it was impossible for him to do his job. He assisted us to rectify this, and the job proceeded without a slip in the schedule. His crew was very professional and showed up exactly when they said they would show up. They tore up the existing carpet and old hardwood, and completely installed the new teak hardwood in 5 days (around 1,300sqft). I would highly recommend Nick to anyone who is considering putting in any type of flooring!
Description of Work: Motto's Flooring installed Brazilian Teak Hardwood on the entire 1st floor of our house. The price above is just for the install, Motto's does not sell the flooring. We purchased the teak elsewhere.

Nick had a stairway to rework and a fireplace surround that he made look like it had never been disturbed. His craftsmanship is the best around, always asked if I had questions or concerns daily, making sure that everything was good. He told us how long the job would take and what to expect and he was right on. I am so happy that I had him do my floors and would recommend him to anyone.

+ 0 moreNick and his crew did a fabulous job. All of his team are perfectionists, especially Nick. Nick did extra trim around the fireplace and a six layer log cabin affect around the room with center diagonal boards in the center of the dining room. It turned out fantastic! It took a week in total to complete and all were cognizant of our need to live in the house while under construction. The hardwood flooring was purchased elsewhere and two of the companies I got an estimate from were familiar with Nick's work and highly recommended him. We are very pleased with the work and would highly recommend Nick and his team for any of your hardwood needs.

All are certified wood flooring installers & finishers and their work proves it! We could not be happier with the service they provided. They were timely, hard working and delivered exactly what we expected. They addressed any issues as they occured and were eager to resolve any concerns to our satisfaction. They worked long hours each day until our project was complete. The owner and his project manager were on the job every single day. We will definiately use them again, and would recommend them to anyone looking to hire an excellent flooring company!

+ 0 moreI am very happy with the entire process of the floor installation. Nick Motto came to the house evaluated the space for the new floor installation and gave a price which did not change. I was impressed by the qualifications he had through the national level with the NWFA as installer, sand and finish, as well as inspector. He also does training. He and his experienced crew arrived on time, showed a professional level of respect to home and homeowner that is often hard to find today. The spent 2 full days leveling the floor, sorting, arranging, and installing the new floor. The installation of natural walnut with moderate color variation takes an artful eye to make look balanced and flowing. The floor is flawless.
Description of Work: Installed walnut hardwood floor in my master bedroom and closet (approx 350 sq ft.) Refinished (sand and polyurthane) a few small areas of hardwood floors in other areas of my house.

+ 1 moreNick Motto and his crew did an amazing job installing hardwood flooring on our main floor and stairs. They are true craftsmen who employ old-school methods that make floors a work of art. We could not be more pleased with the results. Nick was great to work with, took time for our questions and communicated regularly. The flooring was custom mitered to meet the bedroom carpeting, the landing tread of the stairway and the kitchen tile floor. None of those unsightly thresholds for us! For a minor additional cost our drop-in floor vents were custom mitered for a completely seamless look. This installation is rock solid and has a totally high-end look for a very reasonable price. We recommend Nick Motto and Motto's Flooring without reservation. You will love his work!

+ -1 moreI was told that by Nick that he would be installing the flooring. Nick did not do the installation because he had made mistakes in the scheduling date. His workers did the installation and did the job in one day and the floors are beautiful. Nick had told me that the job would be a two day job. I had not heard from |Nick regarding the scheduled installation, so I called him and found out that there was a problem. He did not remember scheduling and indicated that he needed help with scheduling as he does it all himself. I agreed with him that he did need some help if he couldn't keep dates/records straight. Apparently, he attempts to do it all. |When the workers arrived they told me that they had originally been scheduled to do another job and were assigned my job at the last minute. |This approach to running a business is sloppy and needs correcting. I have no problem with the installation and it turned out that the men doing the installation were the same ones that had installed the floor in my halls and family room 6 or 7 years earlier. I liked the installation and decided to go with Motto based on their earlier work.
Description of Work: Removed carpet in living/dining rooms. Installed hickory flooring purchased from Lumber Liquidators.

+ 0 moreThey arrived on time each day, cleaned up after themselves as they went along very impressively, and at the end of every work day, including vacuuming the air vents. Nick was very picky with the wood that he installed, as if he were installing it in his own home, removing any pieces that had imperfections, and removing the short pieces, leaving them to be installed close to the corners of the room, so that everything is consistently pleasing to the eye. Only someone who cares and is very experienced would think of this. He also constantly monitored and professionally mentored his crew members so that we would not have any after installation problems down the road. This was a huge job, with lots of rooms, and all furniture was moved and replaced without a hitch by the Motto Flooring team. The installation was a work of art!
Description of Work: When he arrived to bid the work, he brought two large notebooks, with examples of the jobs he had previously performed. He educated us on all of our various options, without any pressure in regards to option selections. I could tell right from the beginning that I was dealing with a true professional, who also enjoyed his work. I originally was going to install two different types of wood, and after listening to the pros and cons, I took Nicks advice and installed one type of hardwood, Brazilian teak hardwood, which was installed diagonally. Boy am I glad I took Nick's advice! The results were stunning and the various shades of the Brazilian teak wood blends all of the various shades of earth tones in my home nicely together and everyone that walks into my home gives me compliments on the workmanship! Nick gave me a very thorough list of what I would needed to be ordered to perform the job . He also showed me how we could custom order floor grates to match the color of our wood choice that are flush mounted to the floor, so they do not stick up, which not only look great, but also offers an addition safety factor as my wife and I age.

+ 0 moreEverything went a well as you could ever hope. Installers arrived on time worked quickly and professionally with great attention to detail. They were here for 3 days and were very pleasant to have around. They respected the surroundings and cleaned up each day before they left. We have very uneven subfloors (if it weren't for that, I might have tried this myself - except for the stairs). They found innovative ways to deal with these problems and now these rooms have the most attractive and flattest floors in the house! Nick premeasured the job and gave me a complete shopping list - making that part of the process much easier. I will contact them again for my next flooring project.
