Can't say enough ... it's hard to get reliable and dependable people to work on your house these days, but Nick was punctual, honest, and does great work.

When I meet him for the quote, you can just tell that that he is experienced and will would do a great job. For us, they not only put our floor in, but also help us with finishing work, such as, the our fireplace, floor prep, and our carpet on the stairs. They didn't have to do those things. Our floors look fantastic. I would recommend them to any of my own family and friends. Well worth the money.

Called at least 3 times but no one ever answered the phone. Just got a message to leave my name and number. I left voicemail but no one had the common courtesy to returned my calls. Are they even in business . . . do they even exist?

Nick is the gold standard when it comes to hardwood installation. Nick follows the NWFA standards when installing which includes nailing spacing, avoiding H patterns, checking moisture in wood relative to interior humidity, avoiding closeness of end joints of adjacent boards, etc. All of these guidelines are published to minimize or eliminate structural issues, squeeks, gapping problems, cosmetic issues, etc. Nick follows everything by the book and takes pride in what he does. If you have small boards in your boxes and are concerned about placement of small boards versus long boards in the right areas, Nick's process of racking out the floor before nailing gives you a preview on how the floor will look in advance. I spoke with many other hardwood installers on AL and none of the installers did this nor would they consider. Nick has an exceptional way of transitioning hardwoods to other rooms with different flooring which looked great! Skip calling any other hardwood installers and go straight to Nick. You wont regret it!

I love the floors! Nick answered all of my questions, before, during, and after. He even made suggestions that was way better than what I was thinking of. He takes such pride in his work and every little detail, it is like watching an artist paint. He is a trustworthy man, no worries doing an errand while he was in my house. I have already recommended him to neighbors that have come to look at my floors.

The carpet was removed and saved. It turned out the sub floor needed some support so there was some additional work and expense. However, I was glad it was found. The completed project looks fantastic. There were a couple of irritations but most people would probably not have been bothered. I'll admit I can be picky. None-the-less I'm very pleased with the work. And Nick went above and beyond trying to fix my bathroom door for me. Which should really make up for any irritations. I will definitely hire him again when I have the finances to do the second bedroom.

If you are lucky enough to get Grant and Justin, you will be amazed. Although they don't start early, 10:30 or 11:00, they are GOOD. They are polite, pleasant, and know what they are doing. They may not be the earliest, but they are the very best at what they do. When they work, they really WORK as a team. When word gets out about these two young men, they will follow in NIck's footsteps and teach the teachers.

Very well priced and very professional. The quality of work is excellent. I would recommend them to all my family and friends for any wood or tile install.

Excellent work. Floor is beautiful, finishing details were very professional, can't say enough how pleased I am with the results. They did the dining room, entry, kitchen, living room, hallway and bedroom. They stayed late the last day to finish everything, and they did everything, from removing the carpet and vinyl, baseboards, and hauled everything away. They even cleaned the floor after installing.

Nick, Grant and Mike did an excellent job installing our hardwood and tile flooring. They pay attention to detail and it shows in the final product. The process went quick and efficiently. They stay organized and kept the site clean. I will definitely recommend Motto's Flooring and Boardwalk Hardwoods in the future and will use them on future projects.

Nick and his men are perfectionist which is rare in these times. He was on time and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. His workmansh is outstanding as is his attention to detail. This company was GREAT to work with. I have recently purchased a home and had a very short deadline to install flooring upstairs. Nick and his company went out of their way to help get this project done before we moved in. The work was wonderful, the price was great, the crew was friendly, professional, and extremely accommodating. I intend on hiring this company for every flooring job I'll need in the future. Nick took time to explain the process, and each charge (no surprises). I strongly recommend this company.

This was one of the best experiences with a home project I have had. First off, Motto's Flooring is an install company. They do not provide materials. That concerned me a bit because I have no idea what is needed to redo a floor. However, I went with Motto because after talking to Nick Motto (the owner) it was clear that he was the guy for our job. He offered all kinds of suggestions that would be time consuming for his crew, but would ultimately make the floor look nicer. He told me during the initial measurement that if I hired his company, I would not regret it. He was right. Nick (the owner) came out and measured and emailed me a bid along with a materials list. It was pretty straight forward and I was able to get everything I needed at Home Depot, with maybe one stop at Menards. Home Depot delivered everything, including two pallets of flooring, for a $60 fee. I mention it here only because I was put off initially by having to go out and get my own material. However, it was actually quite simple and saved me money. We had bids from several stores that sold laminate and also did install. They all broke down the estimates clearly separating labor costs and material costs. The labor costs were all pretty similar, including Motto's Flooring. Motto's estimate for the install was not cheaper than the others, but it was not more expensive. However, the material costs seemed to be inflated with the other companies so going out and getting my own material saved me $1,500 to $2,000 on my project. When they came to do the work, Nick sent two of his guys. They were extremely nice and accommodating and followed what Nick and I had discussed without any issues. It was a week long project, but each evening they cleaned up before they left. They worked around all the furniture and appliances, including a kitchen, living room, dining room, home office, laundry room, and bathroom. We bought felt pads for the furniture and they put the felt pads on the furniture before moving it back on to the new floor. They worked hard and independently and there was never a need for me to keep an eye on them or ask them to do something or not do something. They took it upon themselves to eliminate squeaks in the subfloor before installing the new floor. They had exceptional attention to detail with the transitions around the doors, fireplace, and cabinets. They were able to remove and replace the baseboards without the need for any painting (something that the other companies told me could not be done). They laid the floor without any T-mold breaks giving me 1400 sq. ft. of continuous floor with no dividers (something other companies told me could not be done). This obviously took them longer to do, but it looks great and it really makes my main level look bigger. On the last day of install, they stayed until 7:30pm to get it all done, including mopping the finished floor. I could not be happier with my experience with Motto's flooring.

I love love love these floors. It transformed the entire room. My son wants Motto to install floors in his room now too. After the installation my teenage son was so surprised at how the room looked. We decided to schedule installation for his room because we love the final product. My dog even loves to roll around on my floors. The owner and installers were super nice and approachable too.

We had Nick and his team install Brazilian Teak in our dining room in 2012 and were very pleased with the job and so when we decided to extend the hardwood to other areas of our home we did not hesitate to call him for the job. He came out twice for estimates because we decided to add 2 bedrooms to the job after we got the first estimate. He was always prompt and very courteous and we had a thorough understanding of what he would do before he left. We are beyond thrilled with the result. Nick is extremely knowledgeable and talented in his field and it shows in his work. He is precise in his work and is not satisfied until he has done it perfectly. He even installed a beautiful "frame" around the fireplace hearth which is perfect and did it at no extra charge. Both Nick and his team were very professional and respected both us and our home. I was very pleased with this company . From the first phone call to the last bit of clean up, Nick was prompt, professional and respectful of our time . He made some suggestion about which wood to choose and had a catalog of previous jobs that helped me visualize the wood in our own space. He works alongside his crew and all seemed very knowledgable about the process. After dealing with a number of companies in the past for various projects in our house - it was refreshing to have a project go so smoothly and on time!. Nick told me his motto is " Just do the right thing". We will definitely plan to use them in the future .

From our first contact, Nick made it clear that the quality of his work was important. He teaches flooring installation, writes articles about it, and is very knowledgeable. Nick also explained what would happen during the installation and freely gave advice to help me make the right choices. His pricing was very competitive. We made a schedule, and he and his crew stuck to the plan, in fact, whenever Nick made a commitment, he kept it. Each team member was skilled and clearly took pride in his work. During the installation, I could ask a question of any team member and get an enthusiastic answer. These guys were each a pleasure to have in my home. They treated my home and me with respect. They were, at all times, professional, courteous and went out of their way to communicate with me. They would ask about the way I'd prefer to have a certain feature finished, and they listened to what I said. When the job was finished, the transitions around doorways, heat registers and stairs were beautiful. Their relentless attention to quality gave me a floor to be proud of. If quality is important, these are the guys. Seriously. I couldn't be happier.

From the beginning, Nick was extremely professional. He thoroughly inspected the area where he was doing the installation at. I had some moisture issues, but due to his years of experience and expertise in installing floors, he was able to resolve the issue. He was always on time and cleaned up each day. He called me daily to let me know the progression of the job. He was able to complete the job a day early, which was wonderful. I would highly recommend Motto's Flooring. I had a great experience!

This is our second home we have had Nick Motto and his team finish with hardwoods. He pays attention to details and is a skilled craftsman. With it being a large project, it took his team 2 weeks to complete. Our subfloor was in poor condition, which they compensated in low areas and corrected our homes issues. The stairs are amazing, because his team built the treads and raisers from the hardwood lot. This is great because it helps with traction on the stairs compared to the 1 piece stair treads. We went with the diagonal direction as Nick recommended this would open up our floor plan, we have got many complements on this as it does look much better than laying at a 90. If we end up moving again, we will choose Nick again for round 3.
