ROY & SON FENCING

Provided an estimate on 10/23/2013. Roy, the owner, was a real gentleman and with one assistant, completed the work in a couple hours. The replaced portion of the fence and new gate was MUCH better that what was originally installed. Highly recommend him. Very difficult to find a reliable fence installer. Don't waste your time looking for an installer, go with Roy!

A great experience as they were very resourceful, professional and even went to bat for me with the city regarding ordinance for distance from the curb. Spot on with all their commitments and even designed a special configuration around trees on my fenceline. Everyone who walks by comments on how great the fence looks: straight, sturdy and nicely designed. worked through bad weather and cleaned up nicely.Have used on another fence need I had and recommend highly.

The crew was efficient and arrived and completed the job as scheduled. The new fence and porch railing looked great. The work area was clean and looked good when they left. They had to move the existing fence line and you could barely tell it had been moved. We were happy with the work.

No complaints at all with this provider. Rather, in fact, praise: they came out to do the work on the 4th of July! It was done in relatively little time with no problems at all. A large tree in our backyard had fallen partly on the fence between our backyard and our neighbor to the west, and after the usual haggling with insurance companies, we were able to get Roy & Son to come out. They replaced a number of bent and crushed rails and uprights, restore the chain-link fencing, and were done within a couple of hours. No trouble at all, and a job well done and much-appreciated.

Roy was on time and helpful. He had some good suggestions and his timeframe would have been fine. We decided to wait on the fence in order to save up more funds. Our property is large and the fence is expensive. We got two quotes and they were similar in price.

It went great! From the day we got our estimate to the day they said they would be there to install. It was cold and drizzly the day the fence was installed & the workers stuck with it. Unbelievable! They were terrific!

Did not go with company. They were very pleasant and professional but prices were high. Contacted them because their Angie's List profile says they offer financing; the office manager told me they no longer offer financing, though.

The work was done to my satisfaction except a. fellow screwing new posts to rails/pickets did not put same number of screws into the wood at each juncture. He put in three at some places and only two at others. Don't know why. I remedied it upon my inspection (closer) the next day with my own ladder, screwdriver and screws. Also, in my opinion both this contractor and Gier Fence (original fence installer) did not put in enough concrete. The failures originally lent fence to droop and shift and lean. I also think that sand and/or gravel should be placed in hole dug before concrete is added to facilitate water moving away from concrete. In our geographical area what with all the clay, the concrete and thus posts will heave with expansion and contraction of clay absent proper drainage. Check Bing or Google for details re allowing for drainage around the foot of a post in concrete. If I used this entity or any other I'd insist on the drainage details listed.

Their price was very competitive, the job was tricky but they came up with a great work around. Excellent job, very happy with the fence! I would recommend them without hesitation!

Wow! Try to find a fence contractor in late summer! I had no idea they were all turning away work. Roy & sons were swamped but got us in the queue to get the job done. We had a new dog & were anxious to use our back yard as a safe haven. Prepare for sticker shock. Chain link is pretty high. 74 feet and the two gates were $1600. The second gate, two 7' units meeting in the middle was necessary because of our RV. The team did an outstanding job with an unorthodox angle & made it work for us. I was very impressed by the offer to dump a wheelbarrow of my dirt wherever I wanted it,

Roy arrived promptly for our bid appointment. His bid was inline with those received from other contractors, so the deciding factor was the through knowledge of the process that he exhibited. The company was approximately 3 weeks out on new jobs at the time we accepted the bid. We pushed that date back another 2 weeks because of our scheduled vacation. The job started promptly on the date agreed. On day 1, the crew tore down and removed our old privacy fence, and set new vinyl posts for the new fence. The following day, the crew returned and installed the fencing in about four hours. Two problems: first, the material for the double Majestic (iron) gate had not arrived. I don't know if it wasn't ordered or the supplier made a mistake, either way, we had a lovely new fence that had no gate. After a couple phone calls, Roy made a trip out and made us a temporary gate of orange construction mesh so our dogs could go out. The second problem was cleanup, the crew did great on day one, but on day two failed to remove all the vinyl dust that accumulated from cutting the vinyl boards for the fence. The material arrived for the gate about a week later as promised and was installed by Roy the next day along with the hand rail. The quality of the work was exceptional and our fence looks fabulous.

They were great. They were really friendly and did a very good job. They showed up when they said they would and didn't charge me anything extra. We tore out our old fencing and then had them replaced the fencing, but only on the front side of the house. We did cedar. They've put in extra wide gates. They did a great job. I definitely plan on having them do the rest of it.

Couldn't be happier. The whole process went seamlessly. After checking into their competitor who I had used before, I found their current quality to be lacking. I went with Roy & Son because as a contractor myself, I see their work all over the KC area. It's how the fence stands up over a period of time that shows the quality of the installation. They completed the work yesterday which only took 3 working day. Now, the property is enhanced, the neighbor's dog will no longer come into our backyard and kill the landscaping. They told me when they are coming and actually were pretty early. They were prompt and were in and out. Their clean up was awesome. Everything was done like they said it would. I didn’t have to deal with anything.

We called Roy & Sons based on previous reviews. We were very disappointed. First, he was late for the scheduled appointment. I had to leave work early in order to be home in time to meet him at the appointed time, and he was late with no phone call explaining why, or even a "sorry" when he did arrive at my home. Second, he was very rude. It is for this reason alone we did not select his bid and why I cannot recommend him.

Communication was great, but ultimately went with another company that was better on price. They were my second choice.

Went very well. They actually took the old fence out a day earlier than supposed to. New posts were put in and the new fence was up very quickly. Worked with our neighbor to insure no gaps between their fence and ours. Made recommendations about a problem with an area between our yard and another neighbor. Very happy with work. Thought price was very fair for quality of fence and workmanship.

Roy & Son Fencing were good. Even there’s thunderstorms threatening, they stayed and finished the job and did a nice job. The only drawback I saw from the company was it took them a long time to do it. They were delayed. It took them a month to get here to do the fence.

A representative of Roy & Son visited our site and obtained our input and wishes for our fence. He made a few suggestions, measured and wrote up an estimate. A day later, someone at the company emailed us with our aniticpated install dates. Unfortunately, we had a late winter this year, and two different snow storms delayed our install dates, which was perfectly understandable. We kept in touch via email, which is our preferred method, but when I did call to ask questions, I was helped promptly. The actual install took two days, but each day consisted of less than a full day of work. The first day, they marked the post locations and installed the posts. The second day, they put up the boards and installed the gates. It went really fast, and they certainly seemed to have a good method for working efficiently. The crew was polite and hard working. They cleaned up very well -- actually the work site was always orderly and neat. Our new fence is gorgeous! I posted pics on Facebook and people loved it!

The new fence was stunning. They were very nice and extremely professional. Very trustworthy and honest. I'm so happy with the work they did and they did it all in one day!!!! Started at 8:00 and when I came home, there was my beautiful new fence!!!! Very, very pleased!
