Juan Mata Drywall

He was okay. After they left, I ended up painting that area, and they didn't clean it correctly. So the paint peeled off the wall in that area. I just didn't want to deal with them again. So I just fixed it myself. The workers were nice.

Contacted Juan and he was over to review the project that same day. Told me he'd get a quote back to me that night...never heard from him again. Strange response considering I was ready to have him start had the numbers been in line. If your time is valuable and you just need to get a project moved along, I'd pass. Nice enough guy, but the proof is in the lack of professionalism derived from making commitments he just can't keep.

Superb service. I have never seen someone with as many solid A ratings on Angie's list and now i know why. Juan is terrific. I needed someone out ASAP and , even though he had several other jobs going at the time, Juan did everything he could to finish my job within 2 weeks of me calling him -- including the week of thanksgiving, and even when I threw in the dining room after he started the job (which required the extra work noted above). The walls look fantastic. Juan was incredibly reasonable on price, and he did everything he could to make me happy (including, fixing a stopped up toilet). Juan himself even showed up to pitch in to make sure his team got my job finished as soon as possible. I am thrilled with the experience.

I setup an appointment with this individual which was confirmed via text message. I waited at my house for 45 minutes, sent text message and left voicemails with no response. An hour later, i received a text indicating he was tied up at another appointment and could we reschedule. Overall, wasted 1.5 hours of my time, time I had to take off from work. Based on initial impression, would not recommend based on on lack of courtesy and consideration for others time.

Juan came promptly after I called for an estimate and gave me good thorough information about the process along with other helpful information about the renovations in general. He gave me names of people i could call on for other needs as well. Although I needed to be out of town during the popcorn removal (lucky me!), my husband said things went well. Popcorn removal is a messy job and we were prepared for what was going to happen. I was told by our painters that you never really know how well a smooth ceiling will come out until a coat of paint is applied. Our painters just finished the ceilings yesterday and said they were very impressed by Juan's work. No remudding or sanding was needed. ;-)! We encountered an area that was missed by the builders. I called Juan to see if he could figure out how to fix it. One of his workers (Jorge Jimenez) came the next morning and fixed this area quickly and beautifully! Very pleased!! When I asked how much I should pay for the fix, Juan told me there would be no charge... a very nice surprise! I would definitely call on Juan in the future. He has a wonderful work ethic. He's honest and does a beautiful job! Thank you Juan and crew!

First, I will echo the other reviews here that Juan is terrible with communication and scheduling. I had a hard time getting him to respond the day he was scheduled to arrive, and ultimately it was almost three days later before he started. That being said, if you are patient and a bit flexible with your schedule, Juan Mata is very friendly and does excellent work. He put up drywall in one section of our kitchen ceiling and skimcoated the whole kitchen to match. He also patched and repaired a variety of other holes in the walls. There were a couple of spots that stood out and Juan immediately agreed and promptly fixed them. In the end I was very satisfied with Juan's work. I wish he was a little better with communication, but he is busy and I guess that is the way it goes. I would definitely use Juan Mata again.

Juan is a nice enough guy but he does not know how to schedule work. He needs more crew members to handle the workload. He failed to show up the first time we had him scheduled. After re-scheduling he did show up and then slowly the crew dwindled down to one guy by the end of the day. Our job was large and should have had at least two guys working on it. I had to keep going behind the guy and shutting the door because he would just leave it wide open in the 90 degree heat. The end result was ok but he was scheduled to come back and finish up some work in the garage and failed to show up on 5 different occasions. Then one day my husband came home from work and found one of his workers standing in our garage. We had already started fixing it ourselves. We found out it's really not that hard to just do it yourself. While I think his work is fine I would not mess around with this company again. My life is too busy to chase people around like that.

He is a very personable and accommodating guy. Very nice! His crew helped themselves to my bottled water and tools, which was a concern. It felt like a violation. He did in fact reprimand his crew. I didn't have the sense of trust, that I was expecting with them. The work itself is outstanding, However there are some small details that do bother me.

We are thrilled with the new ceilings in the lower level of our home. Juan and his crew are exceptional. Juan came and gave us a fair estimate within a day of our request. Due to his busy schedule we had to wait 3 weeks to start, but it was worth the wait! They do beautiful work. Once they got started, the job went very smoothly and we could not be more pleased with the results. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Juan Mata and crew, and will be using them again!

We're selling our older raised ranch home and buyer asked for the garage ceiling to be covered with fire rock & fire tape based on the inspection. We scheduled 3 bids and out of the 3, Juan Mata's was the most prompt, thorough and realistic. I left at least a dozen messages with different companies, most of which didn't call me back, but I got ahold of Juan immediately. He actually bothered to answer his phone as he was on his way between jobs and asked me to text him my address/contact info. He promised to contact me asap to schedule the estimate, and followed through. He knew we were selling our house within 4 weeks and were in a hurry, and he scheduled the estimate with us within 2 days in spite of his busy schedule. He even had to drive from a job in Olathe to Gladstone to do the free estimate. The estimate went very well; he was about an hour behind the scheduled time due to running a little behind on a job and the driving distance, but gave us plenty of head's up. He was the only one of the 3 who spent some time actually measuring out the ceiling for the drywall, gave us some suggestions on how to deal with the garage door openers that were in the way (and recommended a good company to contact for that.) He also took into account the HVAC ductwork, door frame and pipes for his measurements/bid. The other two didn't bother with that. He did some math in front of us and gave us a pretty realistic quote right then and there. Another one grossly overbid us, and the third seemed suspiciously cheap and was in and out a little too fast for our liking. He also promised to make sure his crew would be able to get the work done before we had to close on the house; the other two were a little more non-committal about that. We ended up lucking out and got our buyer to sign a waiver so that we didn't end up having to do the drywall job, but the fast responses and great communication that I received from Juan, combined with his thoroughness on the bid and the fact that he's just a nice human being in general, means that I will definitely seek his services out in the future should I need to have drywall work done.

He did a great job, with minor mistakes. He's hard to get a hold of, but if you stay persistent he will call you back. He is really busy.

These guys are great. They have a stellar work ethic and are the most skilled drywall workers I've ever hired. We plan to have them back in a few months to repair the sheet rock and ceilings in our loft bedroom and bath. They carefully covered all walls, floors, and light fixtures with painters plastic before they started. They also closed off doorways to the areas where they weren't working. They showed respect for my house and my possessions. One thing that I didn't realize until they started work is that they have to allow for drying time between steps. That means that their hours might be a bit sporadic instead of being the 8 to 5 type of hours. Rather than remain idle between steps, they worked another job simultaneously. We didn't find that to be a problem. It was simply something to understand given the drying time needed between steps. We were happy that we also had them prime and paint our ceilings. They have the equipment to work faster than we could and we didn't think the extra charge was unreasonable. There were a few small places where the painters tape holding up the painters plastic slipped a little. Because we had our wall paint, they even touched up the walls where the ceiling paint wasn't perfect. In our experience, the best way to contact Juan is by phone. He works right along with his crew when he's not managing his business. My guess is that because of the long hours he works, it's probably easier for him to make calls than to respond to email and text messages. Sometimes we had to call twice, but he always seemed happy to hear from us when he was able to break from work and take our call.

Juan and his crew provided excellent value and service. After finishing my work he even provided references for dry rot repair and window replacement. He does not normally do that work and provided me with a couple of recommendations. On my work, he gave me a competitive bid and then kept to that price. Only negative was he missed several start dates but that was due to the bad weather in KC when he was due to start and understandable. I highly recommend Juan and would use him again

It was a little difficult getting on the schedule, but worth it. They came in removed the old acoustic tile ceiling and replaced with a nice drywall finish. I love it.

We had a small area of drywall with water damage. I called Juan, and he came the next day. Prompt, courteous, professional. Juan did an excellent job.

On a Thursday I called the phone number provided and Juan answered the phone himself. He told me he would be by that day or the next morning to take a look at what we needed done. He did come by the next day and very quickly assessed our little project. I was told he could have someone out the following Tuesday to perform our repair. We spoke again on Monday and Juan said he thought he could actually come out that day to complete the project for us since we were in a bit of a rush to get it done before listing our house to sell. Juan came to the house as promised on Monday, set up his work area very neatly, taking great care to keep our home clean throughout the process. The job was completed in an hour and a half to 2 hours and the repair looks great! He was able to make the texture match perfectly and you can't even tell that there was a problem in the first place. We are extremely happy with the outcome! We happened to have an area in our garage where our car had driven too far forward and damaged a good size chunk of drywall. While Juan was waiting for the original project to dry, he took it upon himself to fix the drywall in our garage at no additional charge. I can't tell you how much we appreciated that! Great experience and we would definitely recommend!

Juan is FANTASTIC! We just moved to the Overland Park area from California and finding qualified contractors has been extremely difficult. We needed a drywall professional to fix a hole in our basement ceiling that was created by a plumber having to cut it open in order to fix a broken pipe and we were wanting to install a gas line to our cook top so we needed another area cut open. Juan came out, gave us an estimate to repair the existing opening in our drywall, as well as a price to cut a new opening and fix that plus fix the disaster we had in our master shower room. It took 2 days to actually complete everything but Juan came out with Able to actually cut the opening so the plumber could install the gas line the following day...and this Juan did not charge us for! On the very first day of actual repair, George completely fixed our basement along with the new opening. He covered the entire floor, matched the existing texture and cleaned up after himself. The next day, Juan started the bathroom repair and then George came to finish it. They offered to paint but we declined because we had not yet purchased paint for the store. I will definitely recommend Juan to EVERYONE I know. He and his team are great. You will not be disappointed!

Jaun and his team did an AMAZING job. Luckily, I was out of town for three weeks and he was able to schedule my work during that time and all the work was done when I returned. I have scraped popcorn ceilings before and it is a dirty, dusty, dirty job. My house was incredibly clean when I returned. There was some dust, but that is totally to be expected with this kind of work. Juan was in touch with me the whole time. If he had a question he called or texted me. Whenever I wanted to reach him, no problem. He called to ask a couple of questions and to clarify what exactly I wanted done and it was all done completely to my satisfaction. If you need this kind of dirty, dusty work to be done in your home, I would definitely recommend Juan Mata Drywall. Plus, he does so much more than drywall work as you can see by my description above of all of the work that was done in my home.

Did a great job repairing multiple drywall cracks. Matched popcorn ceiling and resurfaced celiings in a couple bathrooms. The matching looks great! Removed a soffit and had to reconfigure a pipe to make the wall flush. Repaired areas where the wall and ceiling had separated due to foundation movement. I happened to have scheduled for drywall crack repair when the same day they showed up my drains backed up in the basement and I had to have more drywall removed. Juan and his guys were able to continue and do the additional work in the basement to get my house back in order! They worked at my house for 2 1/2 weeks and were always very polite and courteous. Have used Juan on a couple pasts drywall repairs also, would recommend his work!

We had an appointment with him but he never showed up. He gave us a quote for about $1,100 to do the job. He was late in giving us the quote. I would never recommend him to anybody.

After the second call, he came right over and gave us an estimate. We have contracted him to do the work and it is scheduled for next week.

They were very professional and did a great job.

He was really good. I actually liked everything about him. He came out and quoted me. I followed through with what he said he would do and I even asked him to do a little bit more. It was all very reasonable. I definitely would use him again.

It went excellent. He does very good work. He cleaned up after himself everytime. He redid the ceiling because he felt it wasn't right. He was very prompt.
