He arrived on time and covered his shoes as to not damage carpet or hardwood floors. He gave us a great explanation of everything he inspected and even made some suggestions. He was finished quickly and charged us exactly what he estimated.

Excellent work. After being in the house a year and half I feel things he brought out during the inspection were right on.

Nick did a fantastic job! He was really well-organized and detail-oriented in the whole inspection process. He sincerely encouraged us to tag along and was extremely patient at explaining to us in detail about what the problem were, what were the causes, and how to repair or maintain in the future. We learned a lot from him. What impressed us more was that the terribly cold/windy/snowy weather didn't affect his work at all. Going up to the roof and walking on the roof seemed so easy for him while other people couldn't even stand staying on the ground outside in the cold wind. His final inspection report was very thorough, professional, and comprehensive. It had a lot of pictures to remind us what the situations were, which was very helpful. He also told us that he could come back for a post repair inspection, and that we could call him any time about any questions or concerns. We would highly recommend him to any one looking for an excellent inspector.

They were great and perfect. It was supposed to only be a house inspection but he did a physical inspection and radon test. It was more like an owner's manual to the house. He showed us where the water shut off valve and gas shut off was. He took me through all the equipment and showed me how to use it. He brought a couple of things to my attention that the owner said the house had such, as there was no heat pump. I would definitely use him gain. He was very professional and the report was done within 15 minutes of completing the inspection. It was a full report that included pictures.

Nick was very personable. He was able to schedule our inspection on 1 days notice and was prompt in showing up. We had scheduled for 2 hours, but Nick ended up spending almost 3 hours answering all of our questions. He also honored the $470 price even though it should have cost more due to the size of our house. Nick also offered to do a free reinspection after repairs were made to assure they were done correctly. I would definitely use him again.

I almost bought property without getting an inspection, thinking that would save time and money. Thank God, I decided to get the inspection. The inspection revealed numerous and serious unacceptable conditions. The inspector, Nick Welty, is certified and capable. In addition, he was helpful in dealing with the selling agent, who didn't want to acknowledge the problems this property is going to present for an unsuspecting buyer. It's scary to think what would have happened if I had not gotten Nick's name from Angie's List. He alone makes my membership worth every dime.

I was very pleased with the service and the cost as well. Being a first time home buyer I was apprehensive about the big investment and Nick made me feel a lot safer about it. What a wonderful weight off my shoulders knowsing my house was very closely inspected!

We cannot recommend Nick highly enough. He spent 4 hours with us inspecting a 3500sqft home that ultimately proved to be a lemon based on the defects he discovered. We got out of that contract and then, when we contracted on a new home, called Nick again without hesitation. Nick is very thorough and really takes the time to explain what he is inspecting, how the HVAC works, etc. He produced 30-35 page reports, with plenty of pictures, within about 12 hours of the inspections. He had no problem with us tagging along the whole time and encouraged it. Nick is currently offering a free call-back to re-inspect any repairs, and lifetime phone consultation. Hope he keeps this deal going. You can't go wrong with this guy. Angie's List steered us straight once again!

No stone goes unturned with Nick. He checked everything thoroughly,explained what everything meant, and gave us a complete written report which included photos. He even tested for radon.

Overall he did well and the price point was better than another company that I also used. He was prompt, professional, and he took his time with the inspection. He pointed out things that he thought were important to me as a homeowner. I?m happy with the results.

The overall experience was very nice. Inspector Nick was very straight forward with us on what he saw from a professional standpoint and took our feedback into "issues" that we saw that may require fixing. Then he explained what may happen if you don't fix the starting point of these issues and what may happen in the future of the home.

The gentleman who came out to do the inspection was outstanding. He was very thorough and energetic. He was knowledgeable and was able to point out a lot of things with the house. The report he produced was beautiful. It had pictures and information about problem areas. I felt that the price was fair and comparable. It was a great experience all around.

I hired API to perform an inspection of my roof, to evaluate the work that was done on my house by another contractor. I contacted Nick through his website, and he called me back within 20 minutes. He was great to deal with and was able to come perform an inspection the very next day. He was at my house, promptly at the agreed upon time. He was fast and very thorough. He was accurate in his quoted price. He was able to answer most of my questions. And even more importantly, he was honest if he wasn't sure about an answer to some of my questions. I am very happy with the quality of work that Nick was able to provide. I will DEFINITELY utilize API for all of my inspection and construction consultation needs from now on.

Nick did an excellent job inspecting this home. He was very thorough in everything he did. Not only did he document the issues, but he also gave opinions and suggestions on how to improve things. His inspection report included pictures which showed how things should be when done properly. He also gave maintenance tips for all the various systems, and was sure to point out key things I should know. As a first time home buyer this was invaluable information. There wasn't a question he wouldn't answer. Because some remodeling work prevented us from inspecting certain things, Nick agreed to come back at a later date to reinspect those items.

It was excellent working with them. Nick spent five hours inspecting our house. He took pictures so I could see everything for myself. He took pictures of the roof for example. We actually used him twice. He explained what was wrong and what to do to fix it. He also showed us how to run things in the house. I had picked him because I was out of state and looking for someone to inspect the house. I had emailed every home inspector in the phone book and he was the first one to respond. He was also the only one to answer all the questions I had asked and I am glad I chose him.

Everything about our experience with API was positive, from the quick confirmation call I received after scheduling the inspection online to Kurt Witt's professional, thorough inspection and the speedy arrival of our detailed report. Our house needs a lot of work, and Kurt identified a few problems that we weren't aware of but was also quite encouraging about the feasibility of getting the home in shape to sell. He was friendly, polite, and very efficient. We were able to get the inspection scheduled very quickly, and we received the report in less than 24 hours--on a Saturday, no less! I was very impressed with this company overall, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

This inspection went well. The inspector was very competent. He walked us through the inspection and told us what he was looking for and finding. He educated us on how to maintain things and how to avoid future problems.

Our Realtor made a recommendation and we got an estimate from them to inspect the home. However, they started nickel and diming us on the different things that we needed done. So, I came to Angie's List...checked out the various recommendations and settled on API. I couldn't be any more pleased. Nick Welty came out...right on time...and was extremely thorough and meticulous...for about half the price of the first inspection company. It's a large house and took about 4 hours, but Nick earned every penny of it! After the inspection, he handed us a printed report and a couple of hours later he emailed an even more detailed report with pictures. We called him a couple of times after the inspection to ask a question or two and he was very prompt in returning our calls and answering our questions. He even followed up with our Realtor a few times to make sure we were all on the same page. Hire this guy!!! Even my Realtor has decided to recommend him!!!

Nick was excellent. He explained everything as we went through the house. He told us what could be a major or minor repair. He was very thorough (we ended up not purchasing the first house because of his findings during the inspection). He was happy to answer any questions we had during the home inspection. The final report was very thorough including pictures of the problem spots. Both homes had higher than average radon amounts. In the second home we were able to have the seller install a radon reduction system. I will use Nick before buying any house.
