Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Justin came out right when dispatch said he would. He was very polite and after looking at what the problem was he gave me the quote. After i agreed he went right to work. He kept me up to date on what was going on and when he was unable to fix the issue he was very prompt to call in a second tech to bring some more powerful equipment. Both guys did a great job to get our issue fixed and was able to unclog the line. They even sent out their camera tech to get video of what was wrong with my line. I appreciate what Roto-Rooter did to solve my issue and i would recommend them to anyone.

Brad was very good at repairing/replacing my sump pump and he explained everything he was doing and why he needed to do it. He was very pleasant and even took the time to make friends with my three big dogs. Thank you!

It was just fine. Overall, the job was very good. Everything was done. They showed up on time. They were very professional. They took care of the problem and advised us on how to prevent problems from happening again. The quality was excellent. I have no problems. I was just pleased in any way. Everyone who was involved in the hands-on project was great! They were very professional and respectful. It was a hard and nasty job but they did their work with a great attitude. The guys involved in the whole project included Jordan, Mike, Cody, Kila and Larry. Larry and Cody did a great job filling the trench - they didnt leave a big mound and fixed my fence post that was previously loose. The grading was fantastic. It isnt a big mountain of dirt but looks like it will settle nicely. Kila and Larry went the extra mile and stayed on site until 9:00 p.m. to get the floor ready for the professional concrete guy to replace the concrete. Kila was onsite again the next morning at 8:30 a.m. to let this guy into my home. He cleaned up after himself and I appreciated that. I also trusted them inside my home when I was at work. The only problem I had was with the scheduling. The project was originally scheduled with Jordan and was set to take place several weeks after the backup. No one called me to confirm the day before so I went to work on the scheduled day. They called me when I was already at the office to say they would be coming over and I had to call them off. They ended up starting on a Friday which was not what I wanted. I had to look at a backhoe in my backyard all weekend and they had to remove part of my fence which was not ideal since I have a dog. They had to move a big piece of furniture in my basement and I called Kim to ask if someone could come over to help me move it back. So far it hasn't happened. Good thing I have a strong brother.

Justin called before he came to my home and in fact he was able to come a bit earlier than the planned appointment which was nice. I had a few various plumbing issues. He was very nice, professional and worked promptly. He had me review with him what had been done and made sure I was happy before he left. I would use this company again.

I left an earlier post regarding their work at my house completed on 4/18/15 due to a tree root problem. After reading my review, Don with Roto Rooter called and listened to my concerns. After looking into the situation he verified that the price they originally charged was correct but gave me a refund for the sake of customer service bi very much appreciated him following up with me.

Richard (#3555) was very polite, did a good job, I am not standing into 2 inches of water in my shower. the wash machine drain now and he advised us to put a lint filter on the drain pipe, since these front loader don't catch lint

Nick and Larry showed up inside the time I was given. They quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote to fix it. They were able to cut out the old faucet and put in a new one in a short amount of time. Overall they were professional, quick, and so far it seems to be holding.

My idiot tenant called roto rooter to clear a drain instead of calling me first. Sheesh. I ended up paying over $200 to clear a drain. they give a 6 month guarantee. Big deal

I have had this service done before. This was a much more complicated situation. Called early afternoon to schedule service. Delayed tech arrival a couple of hours at my request, because I had some business to take care of outside the home. Mark, the tech #283, arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He survey the problem and quickly started to work. He correctly identified the problem, and started cleaning the drain. The volume of tree roots blocking the sewer was extraordinarily large and it required multiple passes to clear the roots. Mark kept clearing the roots until he was sure that the sewer was clear. A camera inspection of the line has been scheduled for the next day. Considering the difficulty of the job, the work was completed quickly and professionally.

I called on a Saturday after 2pm and was told I'd have someone out very soon Their guy arrived within a 2 hr period. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. Went right to work and cleaned up everything. Before I called Roto Rooter I had called another major company who mentioned they would call a "third" party to check out our problem. I chose them partially because it said on Angie's website that there was a $40 off for Angie's List members, but after the job was done and I went over to pay them, I reminded them of that and they said it doesn't apply to landlord-tenant situation. I am a landlord and the clogged line was in one of my rental houses. It said nothing on Angie's website about it not applied for tenants. They did not allow that. Secondly, he didn't put back together the P-trap arrangement. I have no intention of using them again.

I had 2 service calls to augur out the washer drain line and then the main drain line from the house to the street that detected tree roots. A video camera man (Jimmy) examined the main drain line from the house to the street and found tree roots. broken pipe and leaking pipe connections. He recommended I use the rotor-rooter pipe auguring system that installs a new sewer line without digging up my entire yard. Two days later, Michael and Paul came out to do the work. They used a back hoe to dig two holes; one near my house and the other out in the yard. One section of my front sidewalk had to be removed to enlarge the hole next to the house They then used hydraulic equipment to snake 30 feet of new pipe inside the old pipe and upon completion the old line was busted out. They also installed a vertical clean out pipe up close to the house. Both bathroom toilets were then flushed to send water through the new pipe which was tested for leaks using a video camera and no leaks were found. The back hoe was then used to fill in completely the two holes in my yard. The new pipe has a lifetime guarantee that can also be transferred to a new homeowner in case I sell my house. The entire job took only 2 days. Both Michael and Paul were very courteous and answered all my questions. This was excellent service by roto-rooter!

Excellent! I received a call letting me know that the Technician was on his way, and he got here at the scheduled time--very prompt. The technician knew what he was doing. There were three or four places that he could have augured out, but he walked around the house to make sure he augured out the correct sewer line. Richard augured out my main sewer line, 90 feet out and cleared up my "clogged sewer drain" problem. He was neat and cleaned up after himself and very courteous the whole time he was here. He told me what he was doing as he was doing it and this helped me to understand more about my sewer system. He also offered and suggested to send out another technician who puts a camera down the drain, to see exactly what might have caused the sewer stoppage, and offered to have this done at no extra charge. Jimmy, a Roto-Rooter camera technician came out later that week, right on time and put his camera down my sewer and showed the sewer line of my 90 year old house. He found that around 10 to 15 feet out further that the initial auguring was done, that there were some roots and the entry to the city sewer line. He then called Richard to set up for him to come back and to put 2 of the auguring lines together to take care of this root growth. Richard could not have known about this without the use of the camera. I used Roto-Rooter one time before in 2009, and was so pleased that when my sewer line stopped up, I knew that I would call Roto-Rooter and no one else. I would use them again and I highly recommend them to anyone who has any type of plumbing problems. They do an excellent job and stand behind their work. Gray came within the hour of the call and accessed the issue- immediately knew what needed to be done- explained it very well to me in a proessional way and then went about to obtain the necessary materials and then returned to do the work. It was as good of an experience as it could be. I felt confident that he was trained and aware of the codes of the city and all that needed to be done. 66205

First Tech was very nice and professional. He completed the auger portion of the service and told me the drain was "open" although he didn't pull anything out of the drain. He said, "I either broke it all up or pushed it to the main line". He called in to have a Tech with a camera dispatched and then left. The "Camera Tech" (I mean sales person) arrived to show me a drain that was still almost completely blocked with roots and told me the only option was to dig up my yard for thousands of dollars. Having just received such horrible news it didn't occur to me to ask, "Why are there any roots left if the other guy did his job?" That is where my education began. The fine print says they will "open" the drain not necessarly clear the drain, very different things. After doing some extensive research online and on the phone I discovered my mistake. The next day I called a local plumbing company that brought both the auger and camera. Within 15 minutes or so they pulled up a softball size clump of roots, had me flush a toilet then put the camera in to show me a completely clear drain. They recommended a very inexpensive foaming roots killer to use once or twice a year. The local company offers a month payment plan to get your drain serviced every six months. The Tech told me not to get it as I shouldn't have any problems for a long time (I've already removed the bushes that caused the problem). Now, I do want to say that both Techs were very pleasant, professional and probably doing exactly what they have been trained to do. My issue is with Roto-Rooter policy. Companies have to make money and I get that, but to take advantage of my ignorance on the subject using fear tactics is just wrong. Not to mention they charged me almost 50% more than the local company did the next day and didn't solve anything. Be very careful and do your research. Make sure the Tech you hire uses both the auger and camera so they can confirm the work for you. Also, make sure the company you hire agrees to clear your drain if at all possible, not just "open" it. Bottom line, if they have commercials on TV every other commercial break and a jingle, you probably need to call someone else.

We called Roto-Rooter after finding water dripping from the ceiling in the family room and an appointment was scheduled. Justin arrived on time and set to work to find the leak. He pulled the toilet and found the base in very bad condition, but there was no evidence of a leak. It was then decided that a hole must be cut in the ceiling and the leak was located in the copper plumbing next to the shower stall trap. Justin repaired this problem, then rebuilt the base seating for the toilet and reinstalled it. After completing the work, he cleaned both areas. (Which pleased my wife when she returned.) I classify this, a job well done.

Before leaving, Phillip even complimented us on our Halloween decorations. Needless to say, our Halloween party was a great success thanks to the timely and efficient service from Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Services of Kansas City, Kansas.
