Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

DON'T CALL THESE FOLKS IF YOU NEED A REAL PLUMBER!!! After taking the facet apart and concluding it wasn't anything simple or obvious - I called 3 companies as is my "standard practice". Only 2 responded. Roto rooter and M&M Performance. The Roto Rooter guy came first (that day!) and told me he would have to replace the entire valve ($350-$400)... and he was unsure if he could make a new valve "work" with my facet head... as he had never seen nor heard of them. Additionally, he would have to bust out 2-3 tiles to cut the old valve out and install the new one. THEN - I would have contract someone to re-tile/regrout it back together because they don't do that kind of work (and good luck matching tile/grout thats in the shower). This guy had 20+ years experience and was very convincing that this was the only option for repair ---- as there is no way of KNOWING or getting into and fixing the valve parts where the cold water feed was blocked. Needless to say I was very depressed and considered leaving the 2nd facet in non-working condition. It seemed the whole bill would be near $700-$800 by the time I found a contractor to "rebuild" the tile around my facet and there was a chance I could not "match" the facet handles if they needed replaced (plumber said you cant always get facets to work with new valves). If they couldn't get them to work then I would have a $400,000 house with matching facet heads in 3 bathrooms/2 kitchens with all the same facets -- except for the 1 facet that Roto Rooter "fixed". Remember, the Roto Rooter man had never heard of the facet handle brand or even seen them --- so this didn't give me much comfort in getting it fixed properly at ANY PRICE. THANKFULLY - the 2nd visit was from a REAL PLUMBER from M & M Performance Company! The plumber came the next day and sized up the problem. He quickly determined the cold water flow problem was in 1 of 2 places in the valve. Either way, he was confident he could repair it (not replace it). Considering the valve was only 2-3 years old this sounded more like it to me. Unlike the Roto Rooter plumber (of 20 years yeah right), he recognized the facet heads and brand - which tells me he knows his craft. Also since he was fixing what I had - there was no concern about having to replace the facet head with one that didn't match the other shower head. He never even considered or suggested replacing the whole valve (which would be easier for him - but cause me additional expense). To avoid tearing the tile apart and re-tiling to "replace" the whole valve --- his first and only real solution was to repair the valve itself ... which he felt he could do. He left and ordered small inexpensive parts for the valve that he reported were not always easy to find. After doing this several years he reported that he knew where to look. He said there were 2 places he always checks in downtown KC. He would check them both and return when the parts came in. When the parts came in 1-2 weeks later - he returned and fixed the problem in 1 visit. Obviously not his first rodeo. It's clear I found an accomplished plumber - I will never call the amateurs at Roto Rooter again now that I have found M&M Performance. If your going to pay for "expertise" when hiring a plumber - MAKE SURE YOUR GETTING AN EXPERT! CALL AT LEAST 2-3 plumbers before you get started (any reputable company will give you free estimates). Hiring a bad plumber can cause you more problems than you have to start with which almost happened to me. If you have a simple drain clog - these guys might be okay... but from my experience and their COMPLETE lack of sound judgment, I wouldn't trust them for anything simple or complex. Perhaps I just got a bad service tech also... Ill never know because this is my first (and last) contact with Roto Rooter. I personally recommend M & M Performance... but I wouldn't be shy to about hiring any other "accomplished plumber" that I trusted. Good luck and be careful.

We had to wait several hours for the technician to come due to their heavy schedule that day. We received a call approx. every 2 hours from their office letting us know that we were still in line for service, so we never felt we had been forgotten. The technician, Joe, arrived and made short work of our problem. He was professional, friendly and very respectful of my elderly parents for whom he was performing the service. And he gave us some good advice about how to keep our sink drains open. I would definitely call them again.

ROTO-ROOTER PLUMBING SERVICES was quick and efficient. No nonsense. Successful completion of hired task.

We called the company about 10:45 p.m. The service man was here within 30 - 40 minutes. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly did the work. There was a discrepancy about the coupon we had; however, we contacted the company and they quickly made things right with us. Overall, the experience was excellent, and we would highly recommend this company to anyone, especially if you have an emergency and need a pipe taken care of quickly and efficiently.

Slow running drain was backing up. Service man showed up within 2 hours of call, as scheduled. Price was stated before service. work was performed in about 2 hours. service man was friendly and competent. Equipment was well worn, but did the job.

The plumber who came out inspected what was going on and checked to see that it was not throughout the house. He determined that it was only in the basement toilet and augured it quickly. He was at the house a little over 40 minutes and came after hours. He was professional, explained all that he was going to do before and what he'd done afterwards and remedies for it not to (possibly) happen again. He was absolutely wonderful and we would recommend this company to anyone who needs this service!

The plumber who came out was super quick (a little more than an hour), very professional, and took care of the problem right away. A few days after the service was performed, the company sent a handwritten thank you card to us thanking us for using their services. We have used them since then for another issue and would recommend them to anyone!

We were really pleased with them. We are in the process of doing a bathroom remodel and he gave us some pointers and tips on how to proceed with that. That was not even included as part of the bid and we were impressed with that. He recommenced what we do first, plumbing wise before we do other things like tiling. We thought that the pricing was reasonable.

We called them to help reslove the issue. The service tech said that he couldn't really do anything to help us. Then he left, and we thought were finished. However he later knocked on the door, to let us know he could try to snake the line, however this did nothing, and we were left with a 70 dollar bill.

Went great. Called and had a plumber at the home within 90 minutes. Plumber was extremely competent and professional. Definitely would use again.

I sent a request for an appointment two days prior to the service. I received an immediate confirmation to my request via email. Bob, the serviceman, showed up within the 3 hour window provided in the confirmation. He gave me an estimate with a senior discount which matched the final invoice. The job was completed within an hour. I was pleased with the service and will use this company, if needed, in the future.

Drain clogged the evening of Thanksgiving. The dinner created lots of garbage that went down the garbage disposal. In a double sink, both sinks back up with disgusting stuff and wouldn't budge even with liberal use of Liquid Plumber. Whenever we ran the disposal, in hopes of having the drain work, it backed up even more. Called them and they came out the next day (called on Friday, they came Saturday). They did a thorough job of cleaning the drain and making sure the drain and garbage disposal worked well before leaving.

The first visit went well. The technician snaked my kitchen drain and fixed the problem ($150); however, standing water was discovered in my crawl space. Because the technician was not able to determine the source of the problem, he recommended having a Roto-Rooter plumber look at it. The following day a Roto-Rooter plumber came to the house and identified that my washing machine drain line was "busted". He gave me an estimate of about $400 to fix the problem (i.e., fix the drain pipe and pump the water out of the crawl space). He also hard sold me on buying a $50 Roto-Rooter "Pipe Shield" liquid product that is suppose to dissolve build-up in pipes. For his time and the product he charged me $178. The following day i contacted Rainbow Plumming and Heating and they completed the work for about $125. I will never call Roto-Rooter again - what a rip-off!

All he did was tell me that the trap in the drain needed to be cleaned out. He stuck the drain hose from the washing machine into a hole in the wall of the drain. Then he sealed it off. This did not solve the problem. I called another company and they cleaned out the trap, which was not done by Roto Rooter. The other company took the hose that was stuffed into the hole out and plugged the hole with a regular plug, which is what should have been done in the first place.

I contacted this particular plumbing company because of Angie's List information and I must say I was very pleased and will use them again. The plumber was prompt and professional. Even though the drains were long overdue for cabling (my fault), the plumber stuck with it until the job was done. He explained the services each step of the way, along with problems encountered in doing the task. He cleaned up which was much appreciated, and explained in detail, the invoice. There is no doubt that I will use this company again for other plumbing needs. A few days after the service was completed, I received a gift certificate as a thank you that can be used for my next plumbing adventure.

I understood the delay, and was gratified by the phone call telling me about the reschedule. I don't recall the exact rate but I remember that it was reasonable especially considering the circumstances. The technician was polite, professional, and informative. Overall I was satisfied with the service.

They were very helpful. I saw how easy the faucets were to install so once they were fixed, I installed them myself. He did not charge me for coming out.

We had a voucher because of Angies list so he gave us a $30 off. They were excellent. We called them at 9? O clock at night and the representative was here within an hour. He was here until after 11 ?O clock. He was very good and efficient. He fixed the problem. The price was reasonable.

They were available and their rates were good. It was after hours, at night and it was astounding to me how fast they were and their rates were so reasonable.

They did a beautiful job and solved the problem that nobody else could ever solve. Since then I have neither had a leak nor a clog. They are a little high but in the long run it turns out to be cheaper because they do the right the first time.

we had leak in basement ceiling. was in tight space .we are very happy with work . Great repair man also sent a thank-you note with coupon for future use.I would highly reccomend there use to any one.

I just moved into my house and experienced 3 inches of standing water in my basement. The first plumbing company consulted (under my home warranty), cleaned the initial blockage, but made things worse by pulling tree roots into my drain area causing a new backup within a few days. This company repairman said I needed a new line from the house to the street, quoting me a price of $2200. With the second blockage, I consulted Roto-Rooter. The receptionist was most responsive to my problem, and stated a repairman would be out shortly. Alex arrived within 2 hours, and began his "detective work" on both the source of standing water and of the the drain blockage. He quickly diagnosed and remedied the problems and explained them to me clearly. First he cleaned out the blockage in a small pipe, and then thoroughly cleaned the main line to the street,giving tips for maintaining a clear line. He was at my house for ~3 hours and was pleasant and professional throughout the visit. The work was warrantied, and I felt that the price was fair. I will definitely use Roto-Rooter again, and will specifically ask for Alex!

I scheduled the appointment online and also found a $10 off service call coupon. Two serviceman arrived within the time frame scheduled. One was apparently in training. Both were very pleasant and professional - Fixed the problem in timely manner and cleaned up after. Very happy with the service.

My experience with them was very bad. They wanted to charge me $450 to route the sink drain and put in a couple fittings. I thought they were unethical. I feel that the fact that they don t charge for an estimate is part of their scam. I eventually had the work done for $150.
