Chris was easy to work with and I would use him again. I explained the issue on the phone and he made an inspection at my house almost immediately to assess the required work, then returned quickly to complete the project. He charged me his minimum which was not much given the two trips and work done. He volunteered information that was assuring (e.g. no water damage due to missing shingles; there company uses more nails to attach shingles than builders) and had a refreshing, easy-going attitude towards billing. For my small job, it was zero up front and I'll leave the invoice in your mailbox for when you get to it. Kudos to Chris, thanks.

We have had problems with water leaking into our front room, right at the roof line in front, since we moved into the house 3 years ago. THe first person who repaired it did a good job identifying the problem - flaSo far, it has been an exemplary repair experience. Chris Owen called promptly and made an appointment. He came when he said he would (called earlier in the day to verify) and then did a thorough inspection of the roof area near where we were experiencing the leak.

It went well. I called that morning and it was going to rain that day. They arrived at 8:00A.M and were done by 10:30AM before it rained.

Mr Owen's gave me the bid one day and came back in a couple of days to do the work. The work was completed all at one time. We are perfectly satisfied with everything done!

The project went very well. They did an excellent job covering the patio roof and all of the problems have been eliminated. Also, power washing the deck took years off the appearance and gave it new life. They worked really hard and had it done in half or less of the time I figured it would take.

I had a very good experience. He did a great job. He was very responsive to any comments or requests. He took off the old shingles and patched up the boards. He replace the shingles. I am very happy with the job. He lived up to my expectations.

Mr. Owen came right away and ispected the roof and said that there werre several years left for this roof and I did not need to have it replaced. He also wrote a message to that effect for my insurance company. I did not have to pay anything for this service and I greatly appreciate this help.

Chris came to give us an estimate and not only did he estimate the job, but he advised us what would be best considering the situation with the roof of our house and the roof of our garage. We had another estimate, but it was clear that Chris was really knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. He also proposed a more comprehensive solution than the other contractor which was definitely needed. (My husband is very knowledgeable about these things himself and said it was easy for him to judge the two bids and make a decision to go with Chris.) Chris came out exactly when he said he'd be here, and not only did he quickly and efficiently complete the work on the roofs, but he willingly took on additional work we asked him to do relating to closing in the eves of the house which were open, allowing insects to nest there. He even agreed to seal and paint the porch ceiling. Overall, he did a great job, and we would enthusiastically recommend him to anyone who has roof work to do! He's the best!!!

We had several bids for this project that ranged widely - the most expensive was from Larry Vaught roofing, who quoted us a price for the roof but told us we'd have to work with a separate carpenter to fix the wood. Between Vaught's estimate and the carpenter's estimate, we'd have paid close to $9000. The lowest was Erhardt Roofing, who initally quoted $4700 and then changed it to $3900, though I'm not sure why. Almost everyone who came to give an estimate would bring me outside and say, "if you want to replace that board, it's $50, that board will be $25, and another $100 if you want me to paint it" - that kind of thing. I don't know a lot about carpentry so I found this all quite confusing, and we were scared that we'd either end up with something that looked awful, or else that the price would skyrocket as the work progressed and we wouldn't be able to afford to finish it. Chris' approach was completely different. I explained what we wanted, and he looked over the area very carefully and gave us a bid to fix the whole thing. I actually showed him the lowest bid we'd had, and asked him what the difference was with what he was proposing to do. He was very patient and he went over it with me, explaining it, but not giving me any kind of sales-pitch. I was impressed by the obvious pride he takes in what he does. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the result. Chris did so much more than just fix the roof and the rotten wood - there were a lot of small things that needed fixing, which became clear as the work progressed, and he did it all. He also gave us suggestions for ways to proceed so that the final project would look nice. In the end, he made the whole area really pretty. We wanted to turn the shed into a covered area where our daughter can play, and he took so much care not only to make it solid and strong, but also, to make it clean and safe. When he was finished, he even powerwashed the whole area, including the deck, which wasn't part of the project. I couldn't believe how nice he made it. We had this work done in the middle of the heatwave, and even though the weather was awful, and we told him we weren't in a hurry, he still got it done in a very short time. He's very honest, professional, and reliable, and he does great work that he takes pride in. He's also a really nice person. I think that he treated our house with the same care and respect he'd give his own property, and we hope to work with him in the future on other projects.

Chris worked us into his schedule quickly and was very helpful. His price came in below what I was expecting to spend and for that I was appreciative. I would definitely call on him again,

I first contacted Chris by telephone and he came out to give an estimate. I was impressed by his punctuality and knowledge. The price seemed good so we arranged for the work to be done. Because of the very hot weather, it took a little longer than originally estimated to get the work started- about one week. Chris and Robin did all the needed repairs and painting in just two days and under horrible hot weather conditions. They did a super job from start to finish including matching the existing paint colors perfectly. I don't think I could have found a better company to do the job.

I was very pleased with how he did his estimating (thorough and knowledgable), his work, and the clean up. i will definitely use him again when needed.

Chris Owen and Bob the roofers were friendly, on time, very reasonably priced, and experts. Got the jobs done in a very timely manner. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

We had a little trouble getting together as Chris had a lot of other work, but, once we agreed upon a time - he and his crew appeared on time and did excellent work. He replaced one header for the double garage door, repaired the guttering, rerouted the satelite cable that had caused part of the problem, installed new fascia, and painted the new woodwork. I am very happy with his work and intend to use him again in the future. Chris also later provided me with a statement to use in my claim to the satellite company over their bad installation that had caused the problem in the first place.

We had some roof/ceiling leaks after a rainstorm. After reading reviews on Angie's List for roof repair, I called Chris. He came and provided an estimate, which seemed fair. We made an appointment for him to come and do the agreed upon repairs. He never showed up and never called. I contacted him again and reminded him of the situation. No explanation was given for the previous no show / no call. I expressed urgency in getting the repairs done before it was due to rain again. We made a second appointment for Chris to do the work. Again, he never showed up and never called. We contacted him a third time regarding the situation. We made a third appointment for Chris to do the roof repairs. Again, he never showed up and never called. THREE TIMES. Messing with this contractor cost me three weeks worth of lost time and energy, and my roof still leaks. This individual is completely unprofessional. I recommend Angie's List users go elsewhere for roof repair work.

After a particularly bad rainstorm, we had two leaks in our kitchen ceiling, and some leaking in the front of the house. I called Chris (who had worked on our roof once before) early in the morning, and he stopped by within 2 hours. He gave me a quick estimate, and promptly got to work resolving three issues I had with the roof in general (including the leaking). He was very prompt, courteous, and got the work done same day as my call for a very fair price.

Chris was able to come out and give me a quote the day after I called, which helps a lot when you're contacting multiple people for quotes. He wasn't the most organized guy in the world, but I give him the benefit of the doubt because he gets calls all day when he's driving or up on a ladder, etc., so the administrative side of things can be challenging. It turned out that my info accidentally got merged with someone else's after I first called him, but he figured it out and still managed to find my house within a few minutes of our appointment time. He was the only guy who didn't say he'd have to tear everything out to do the repair, so he had the best price and clearly seemed to have the most familiarity with the work. Chris was able to fit me in within a few days; he arrived at 9am as promised and started right to work. He opened up the corner joints, slipped a saw blade behind the gutter to cut a few nails, eased it away from the house a bit, and cut out the rotten board behind it. He replaced only what was necessary, caulking and sealing everything as he went. After finishing at the corners, he took a quick look over the roof and caulked a little gap at one of the vents. Then he checked the whole perimeter to make sure nothing was clogged or in bad shape, and caulked the rest of the fascia board seams since we're about to repaint. I'm very satisfied with the work and especially happy that I kept looking until I found a contractor who knew what he was doing and cared about providing a good value for my money.

Chris suggested a cheaper alternative to fix our leak. Rather than rip off several wood shingles on the wall, he cut away the worst of the wood rot and replaced it with metal flashing and a piece of wood trim. He matched the paint color and even cleaned our gutters. I had to leave before he finished, but when I returned the newly painted piece looked great, everything was cleaned up, and the gutters were clean.

Chrsi couldn't make the first appointment we had set up for the estimate. He was late getting back into town from a trip. He was early for the rescheduled estimate appointment. He called on the morning the work was to be done to let me know what time he would arrive. He arrived right on time. Everything went very smoothly.
