This is my 3rd time using Chris' services. He is always pleasant, responsive, thorough, and reasonable in his pricing for the work.

The service was fine! I've known Chris for a long time. I would recommend him to anyone.

We had some high winds/tornado that had shingles off of my roof laying all around in my front and back yard. After a few days of rain I saw leaking in my garage and signs of leaking in the bedroom that's connected to the garage and in the same area where the leaking was in the garage. I called Chris because he had done some work for me before and I was very please with him and the outcome of that job. He came out the same day I called him and did a walk around the house. He took pictures of the roof and showed me what damage I had and how much it was going to cost me. Chris and his son Mike arrived a little before 9:00AM this morning, 12/7/15. They were done by early afternoon about 2:00PM. They did some extra things for me too. I really appreciated that. I had a hole in my roof that some critters had eaten in it and I wasn't even aware of that and my garage door was cracking in one of the corners. He repaired all of that for me. My roof looks brand new. They also cleaned my gutter and downspouts and installed gutter guards. I have some siding and paint work that needs to be done and Chris and Mike are definitely going to be the ones to handle that for me. These guys are great. They are reasonable and very dependable. Excellent customer service. I would recommend them to anyone anytime. Thank you Chris and Mike.

Awful....why did I hire this guy?

I contacted Chris on the phone and made an appointment for an estimate. He did not show up at the agreed time. I contacted him again to reschedule and he failed to respond.

I spoke with Chris on Friday 7/16/15 and set up an appointment for 8:00 am the next day for him to give me an estimate for repairing my roof. He didn't show up or call me. Very poor service.

Chris located and repaired the sources of wet grout on an exterior bathroom wall in our 1927 Brookside home in 2014, so when we had a similar problem in a different place after a period of very heavy rains, I called him again. I knew if anyone could find and fix the problem, it would be him. Chris came out, looked at the wall where the moisture had appeared, and immediately figured out that an area above the moisture needed to be recaulked. He also cleaned out a gutter that he thought might have exacerbated the problem. Because he was able to pinpoint the source of the problem so quickly, the repair took Chris about 10 minutes. Though this call was in no way related to the previous repairs Chris did on our home, he refused to take any payment for his work. He is a consummate professional and an expert in locating the source of wood rot and moisture problems - and in fixing them. I would never call anyone else in the K.C. metro area for this type of work!

The day after I called, Chris Owen showed up. He was very courteous and nice. He found a small issue with the leak around the kitchen. He said it was due to nail holes. He filled the nail holes right then and there. With the more troubling leak between the bricks, he recommended and installed a diverter so that the water would be moved away from that specific corner of the house. We offered to pay him, but he would not accept payment. We can only assume that he didn't feel comfortable taking our money for such minor repair work. He also gave us recommendations for repair work to be done on the door jambs themselves. We enjoyed our experience with him and highly recommend him. We will definitely use him again. It is hard to find honest contractors these days, but he is one of a rare breed. Thank you, Chris!

Chris has always been our go to guy for anything exterior of this old house! He earned that with his great work and fair prices! We had a bad leak and damage where water had melted after an ice storm. To clarify, the roof was not leaking at the time we called him. It was, however, in need of fixing so it would not happen again He answered my call right away and was over in short order. He and a co-worker got right on the problem, working professionally and getting the job done. He quickly assessed the problem and gave me his estimate. This man knows roofs and gutters. My husband and I are resting assured knowing the problem was fixed and we will have no problems with that area of the roof again! Thanks to Chris!

They did excellent work. They got the job done over 3 days. The workers were superb. They were courteous, respectful, and responsive.

Chris came out in the middle of a big ice storm and broke ice off my roof to identify the leak, did what he could do to repair it and came back later to replace the flashing and wood rot. He also replaced a skylight with glass as opposed to the dome that was there, improving the light into the house. Chris was very easy and knowledgeable to work with and priced well. I appreciated his coming out in the middle of such a poor time with respect to weather, it was very reassuring to have him watching it.

While Chris is very friendly, his responsiveness and timeliness are terrible. Started when he stopped by for an estimate. I had asked if he could call me to confirm a time before showing up so that I could be home to discuss the repair. He came by unannounced when I was not home and told my wife he just needed to take a look at the side of the house. He decided on the repair needed and left us what seemed to be a reasonable estimate. I then tried for months to schedule with him a repair on my home's siding. I understood that this was a small job and would be slotted in when most convenient. We would discuss a time window of several days to complete the repair, and no one would show. Additionally, I'd never hear from him on the reason that no one showed. I'd call him back, get the excuse that his crew is really busy repairing roofs on million dollar homes, and that it would probably be 2 weeks out. I'd set another window of a few days to complete the repair, and no one would show, with no follow up call on his part. Finally after going through this cycle about 4 times, I'm looking elsewhere.

so Chris seemed very knowledgeable spent about an hour checking and working on my roof. He did not charge me for service call or repair. Had to tip him so I felt better. Would recommend him to all.

Contacted Mr Owens on the 13th of August .. explained my situation and the job to be done. He was to communicate with my son and set up an initial appointment to 'see' the job and make a bid. That was the last communications I had with Mr Owens .. he would not return my phone calls or email messages. Due to this lack of professionalism I WOULD NOT recommend his company to anyone.

Replaced broken shingles; replaced pipe vents; repaired kick outs and cleaned soffit vents; re-nailed gutters, where needed. Chris did a great job - very professional. Would recommend without hesitation.

During our 40+ years of home ownership we've hired quite a few different contractors to work on various projects. Most were satisfactory, some were disastrous, but a very few have been truly excellent. Chris Owen definitely falls into this last category. The work was done quickly and correctly, the price was more than fair, and he went out of his way to take care of everything that needed to be done. We will definitely be using his services again!!

We had recently had wall tile replaced in an upstairs bath that has a window. Under the window, however, we soon saw that the white grout was darker than in other places and determined that the grout was wet, caused by a source from somewhere in the wall. We located, removed, and replaced a large rotted piece of wood in the wall, which helped the grout on the interior wall behind it dry out. However, after the heavy rains of a few weeks ago, wet spots appeared in the grout on the interior wall beneath the window on the other side. This was obviously something that needed to be addressed, so we called Chris Owens. Chris came out very quickly to assess the problem, taking photos of everything so I could see exactly the situations he was describing. He immediately found several holes in the roof near a valley and a dormer. Our home is a tudor with steep angles, so water was being channeled through them down the valley and toward the window wall. He also photographed and showed me nail holes in shingles that hadn't been caulked, vent pipes that had no flashing around them (only tar), and an area by a dormer where stucco met the roof and where again no flashing had been installed. Basically, he located a number of places where water could enter. Chris came out very quickly (in two days, I think) to do the repairs around the window where there was wood rot, explaining that such problems always get worked into his calendar since they are already doing damage. He and Robert worked tirelessly to correct the problems, ensuring that no rain would be able to get in again. He fixed the other problems a little later but still very timely, always explaining the reason behind the repair. I iunderstand it may take a little while, but the grout under the window appears to be drying out! I would call Chris in a heartbeat. He is like a water detective for your home and his prices are fair.

Chris came and looked at the house the very next morning after my call. Unfortuneately I wasn't home. Normally that isn't a problem but I forgot to mention that section of the roof had a window that opened into a bedroom. Out of privacy concerns, he didn't climb on the roof, but was able to inspect it from the ground to see the primary problem. He promptly returned when I was available and confirmed the issue. He came back almost immediately the same day with materials and a helper and fixed the visible leak and a few other rotten spots I didn't see. He also fixed a few other problems with a ridge cap that was not part of the original problem but would have been quite soon. He didn't charge any additional money for that. The work was done quickly and professionally. There was no debris left, the only sign he had been there was a slight color difference in the newer shingles, and the fact that the leak was gone (I waited until several good rain storms went through before writing this review). Chris and his worker were friendly and professional, and his number is now in my book for any other outside repairs that might occur ! A great find for a handyman. Wish he did inside repairs too!
