Chris worked with our painter, who was already working, to coordinate the repairs. Chris was quick to respond and he came back a second time to work on another problem area. He did not charge us for the second visit.

I've gone to the library in an attempt to repair the problem myself. I've located the leak, repaired the roof, and will now attempt to install drywall, and match the textured finish after cleaning up the mold and fixing any wood rot. So much for hired help.

Was punctual in response and offered good information. Was going to come back in a couple of weeks to discuss some repairs, but never saw him again. Did not call or give reason for not returning. Would not use in the future.

Chris came right out and looked at my siding above my garage after an inspection came back saying it needed attention. He knew immediately what to do to fix it and even took care of a couple of other little areas while he was waiting for his guy to finish above the garage. He is the type of salt of the earth handyman that you want to have at your house.

I cant say enough great things about Chris! He has done repair work for me a few times and was always reliable, honest and fair in his pricing! I would highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him in the future. In reading a couple of negative reviews, people have to remember that when dealing with outside repair work the contractor is at the mercy of situations like the weather and other jobs that may be scheduled ahead of you and Chris does put emergency situations at the head of his list as anyone with a major leak would hope he would also do for them! I agree that some contractors need to be better about communicating changes to scheduled appointments but I never had this experience with Chris.

This contractor failed to follow through on his continuing promises to finalize details of his bid and schedule the work. Made numerous commitments to call me back the next day and never followed through once. I had to call him in order to get his attention. Doesn't use email to communicate bids or other important information. We're very disappointed. Seems like a nice guy and gave us a reasonable original bid, but his failure to communicate and follow through made us nervous so we did not move forward with him.

Chris did a great job. Showed up right when he said he would, talked us through what he thought was causing the leak, and what would be required to properly diagnose it, fix it, and estimated timeline and price. Answered any and all questions we had. Then promptly set to work, along with an assistant he brought. They had to remove composite roof tiles, cut out rotten wood, remove rotten flashing pieces that a prior roofer had left in place years earlier (which he should have replaced at the time of that earlier repair!), and then installed new wood, new flashing pieces, new roof tiles, and then repaint a few spots of wood to match our house trim. Done in half a day, but cost $840. Still, it would have taken me an entire weekend, and that's IF I could have figured it out. They're worth it. Not cheap, but reasonably priced, and they do excellent work, and they're very easy to work with. We believe (predict?) that this repair will last a very long time. I do highly recommend Chris for roof repair work (and probably for full roof replacements, also, although I don't have personal experience with him on that job.)

I called the company on 3/31/14 to see if they could come by around 4:30 pm since that's when my husband would be home to speak with them. We were wanting to get a pricing on a roof repair for an area that was leaking onto the porch along with some other work around the eaves. The owner, Chris, wasn't able to make it that day but he said he could drive by the next day and look at what needed to be done without anyone being at home and then give me an estimate from that. That was fine by me. I didn't receive a call the next day. I called the following day after not receiving any callback and asked was he able to give me an estimate but he said the roof had multiple layers and was not a repair job but needed a whole new roof which was beyond the scope of his company. No work was done but he seemed to be a pleasant enough individual - I would gave a 'B' for responsiveness as it would have been nice to hear from him as soon as he realized he couldn't do the job so I could continue my search but since I didn't have any work done, I don't want to lower the complete grade level to a 'B'.

This company was awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. The ceiling in our kitchen was dripping. He was here two hours after I called him and came back the next day, in a snowstorm on a Sunday, to fix the problem. It was a great relief and we have had no recurring issues. Thank you, Chris Owen!

He was very knowledgeable and detailed about what was happening and how to prevent and help it. He didn't charge me for his time on the roof and his help, and was very friendly and courteous. I will definitely be calling Chris for any future jobs on my roof/gutters/chimney etc... Thanks!

Chris is persistent and a super sleuth! We tried two other roofers before we found Chris, and we feel very fortunate to have found him. We have used him for a couple of years for various projects.... all related to leaky spots on our roof and one situation caused by a storm. We have cement tiles that require special care when walking on them and working with them. Chris is the only roofer we have found that understands this and is willing to take special precautions. We appreciate that he tries to stretch a dollar -- those tiles are expensive! He always tries to move tiles around so the visible ones are the nicer looking ones and re-use as many as possible. I call Chris a super sleuth because some of our leak issues have been very challenging to locate. Sometimes, he has had to return a few times (between rain storms) before we find the culprit. He always does so willingly and apologetically. He perseveres until he gets it right. As you might expect, Chris' schedule is crowded and sometimes we have to wait. He is definitely worth the wait. Honest, high integrity, dependable, craftsman, and a pleasure to work with.

I received a written bid promptly and the final price was exactly as quoted. It was done quickly. The only thing I wish had been different - I wish I had gotten a call a day or two before that he was coming to do the job. But then again, I wanted this done asap, so it all worked out great.

Called Chris on 5/14/13 to bid on a job. A time was set and we meant. He gave a written bid. Chris showed on time and was professional. I called him on 5/20 to accept the offer. He then said that his schedule was full, but would call me back with a time . He stated at the time of the bid that he calls a week out to go over the final details before the work starts. So i waited. waited and waited. I called him 6/12 to see when was an opening, Chris stated that he would call me back with a time. So, i waited and waited and waited. On 6/24 I contacted another company for a bid. They scheduled me and I accepted. On 7/15 Chris called and said he was at my house ready to start the work. I asked him why he never called me to set a time. He then said he was so busy he forgot to call. He wanted to start work now. I declined because I never got a call or meant with him for a final walk thru. Chris gave several excuses as to why he didn't do want he says he normally does.. I don't think that is very professional . I did call two more times besides what is stated, but he didn't answer or return calls. I understand that the schedules get full, but a call would have made a big difference. I was willing to work with him if he only communicated with me. I feel he just kept putting me off. I just wanted the work done.

I delayed writing this review to make sure the work was holding up. So far so good.... my gutters look good, the roof is leak free and the price was reasonable. As a women, I appreciate that he was all business and not patronizing. I did not have to deal with patronizing humor.... major plus.

PEOPLE BEWARE:we had an estimate appointment set up for August 16th at 8am...it was 8:45am and he still didn't show up. I called him to see what the problem was and he said "oh oh" he said that he had called me the day before to let us know that he would be in the neighborhood that day and he said we did not call him back so he assumed we changed our minds!, what???..That is a lie!! first of all, we did not receive any call or message the day before...we were home. Secondly, if we had changed our minds, we would have called and cancelled the appointment(we do the decent thing), Third...we had a scheduled appointment, they should have stuck with our scheduled appointment then and not turn it around to be our fault for not calling them back for a message we never received.... I felt right away when I called him this morning, that he was lying and just giving excuses...so it made me think...what else could he be dishonest about on a job...sorry, this was not handled professionally and you lost another job...guess you don't need jobs!

Located on the roof was a wooden housing with piping used to release exhaust fumes from the furnace. (I think) the other companies I worked with through the last 5 years always replaced the flashing thinking they were taking care of the prolem. This company resolved the issue by extending the piping that runs from the basement from the basement to the pipe within the housing. He also removed a worthless metal cap and replaced it with the correct style.

He did a great job, he gave us an estimate and completed the work in a timely manner.
