It took Chris about 9 months to complete the job. When Chris gave me the estimate, he also indicated that there was some hail damage and recommended a call to my insurance agent, who did acknowledge the hail damage and who issued a check for the damage in December. I am guessing that I called Chris in January to confirm the receipt of the insurance check and my wishes to have him compete the roof repairs. I didn't expect work to be done on the roof during the winter months with the potential of snow and ice on the roof. Many calls were made during the spring and summer to find out if I was on his schedule. Finally, in September on one of my calls, Chris indicated that he was coming out the next day! And he did! He climbed the roof to determine how much material he needed, and the roof was fixed the next day.

I originally contacted Chris regarding a roof leak. He was responsive, coming out and doing a preliminary inspection. He said he couldn't find leak and it might be a hit or miss deal but he would stick with it until he found source of leak and fixed it. He said he could do it for around $300, which seemed reasonable. I subsequently called several times (voice mail - you should hear his VM message) indicating I had a person who was sheet rocking inside and I needed him to look at leak. No response to either call.

Called on 8/9/07 for estimate which Chris did on the 10th in writing. He (without prompting) knew every place that leaked (he was right!). He had a solution a flat roof supply store wouldn't touch. I had many questions that he patiently answered. He had a cancellation for 8/15/07 and estimated 3 1/2 days starting at 6:30 each day. He and his crew started promptly each day and cleaned up at the end of each shift. Chris was there the entire time managing the work and answering questions. Due to extreme heat and thunderstorms the project carried over to the next week. They made sure nothing leaked in the interim. They not only did what they contracted to do, they did a lot of little things that impressed us, like pulling down the old cable and antenna lines, touching up paint where the old gutters had created a rust line, etc. The crew was very nice. We've had 3 heavy & 3 light rain storms and zero leaks! We've already gotten estimates for additional work in the future.

He does great work is very thorough and gurantees his work. He is a community mainstay and I will continue to use him. He is busy, but I am happy with his quality.

He very angrily told us he would use anything we wanted and we could just do it ourselves and there was no charge. My husband called him the next day and told him that this would be a satisfactory solution and that we would not be needing his services any further. We were also going to use him to re-do our roof. It was a frightening experience and we do not want retaliation, but we could expect it from this type of personality.

Tried to engage Mr. Owen because he gets so many positive reviews, but my experience was like one other reviewer: he didn't respond. I called three times. First time I left a message, and did not get a call back. Second time, I talked to him and he said he'd come a few days later. He didn't. Third time, I talked to him and he said he'd come next day. That didn't happen either. I figure 3 strikes is enough, but I'm puzzled.

Chris and his partner did a 'temporary fix' when they came to give an estimate. This fix stopped the leak until they came back to do the job. His temporary fix lasted longer than other supposedly permanent jobs other people had done. I'm very pleased with the results!

It went OK but his son did the work instead of Chris (the owner) so some things on the agreement did not get done the first time. Chris did come back, immediately, to finish up some loose ends such as painting the vents and recutting a row of shingles that were at a slight angle. Overall, the job was okay but I was a little disappointed in a few areas. They used the old edging instead of putting down new edging down (as in the agreement) and when the job was over there was a lot of loose nails on the roof and on the ground. It also looked like someone had stepped on (scuffed) some of the shingles. There is also one row of shingles that the nails show through which I think should be covered or sealed with something. Fortunately, most of the problems are ones that only I will ever see. Hopefully the old edging will be fine and I will not have any problems and I do have a 10 year guarantee on the roof. Hopefully I will never need it.

Work not done due to non-responsiveness.

As usual, he arrived exactly when he said he would, checked out the situation and proceeded to work on it. He worked nearly and hour and told us he thought he solved it. He would not give us a bill but suggested gas money, so we offered $100.00 for his time which may well be worth that and much more. He has offered to come back and test it with a hose if we wish, or we can wait until the next rain. If it still leaks, I am sure he will return and see if there is anything else he can do.

I thought we had a leak, but when the gentleman came out, he told us that we did not have one. I feel that they acted with integrity, since he could have sold us things, but he didn't.

I can't be specific because I've waited to long to report, but I must commend Chris for his prompt, quality, economic service. As a church trustee, I contacted Chris--who answered the "office" phone himself--about providing a quote on repairing a leaky steeple. He comes across as knowledgeable, friendly and with an attitude of wanting to help. He was flexible on times he could meet and arrived on the time and day that he said he would. Due to forecasted storms, our quote became a "fix" after Chris quoted us an amount far below our expectations. He completed the work on the spot and said that he would not bill us "until AFTER a hard rain to ensure that the steeple was no longer leaking". CALL Chris for your residential and commercial roofing needs. He has earned his top Angie's List rating.

I had a leak in the ceiling in the master bathroom. Chris came the same day I called him to give me an estimate. The following week we had nothing but rain! He came to do the repairs as soon as the weather permitted. I was very pleased with the work and his response time.

Very well but had to have second call to remove a bird's nest that was missed on first inspection.

I left Chris a message on a Friday. He called me back a day or two later. He asked me to call him back and leave all of the details of what I needed an estimate for in a voice message. He came out to my home a couple of days later. I was at work when he came so he gave me a phone call and told me what the problem was, gave me an estimate and told me he could do the work right then and there. He also informed me of the 1 year warranty. I didn't have to be there to make payment. He would just slip the bill in my door. I was very impressed with the work, especially the fact that he had shingles on hand that matched the bad/missing shingles.

CHRIS GAVE ME BILL, I WENT OUT TO LOOK AT THE WORK ON MY FLAT ROOF. THE JOB WAS POORLY DONE. THEY NAILED DOWN MY FLAT ROOF WHERE IT WAS PULLING AWAY AND PUT SILICONE CAULK OVER NAILS THE ROOF IS LEAKING MORE THAN EVER. THE SOFFIT THAT WAS REPLASTERED, WAS VERY POORLY DONE ALSO. I HAVE TALKED TO CHRIS ABOUT THIS HE SAYS HE IS GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT HASN'T YET. I HAVE NOT PAID HIM EITHER. I JUST WANT THE PROBLEM FIXED. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT DOES REPAIRS CORRECTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Some of the other companies I called either wouldn't do a flat roof, or they wanted to replace it completely. Chris came out, and told me he could take care of it without replacing it. He was very honest, thorough, and reasonably priced. I had a bit of a leak after the work was done, and he came back out and fixed it right away. I was very pleased with his service and he really knows his business. If I need anything I will call him.

Chris Owens came promptly with a great bid, did a terrific job and used Kilz on ceiling stains on the room addition along with old ceiling stains from leaks decades ago.

Job 1: I was able to get hold of him on the first call and the estimate was provided and repair completed in less than 24 hours. He appears to have done a very good job. Job 2: I was very satisfied. Work done promptly and as promised.

Chris came right away for the estimate on repairing 2 areas of our roof that were leaking. By climbing on the roof, he found some loose/bad shingles scattered all over the roof (as we suspected), but not enough to warrant a new roof. He gave 2 estimates, 1 for repairing the leaks only, and 1 for replacing all the bad shingles, the latter with a 5-year warranty of no leaks (if a leak does occur, he'll come back to fix it at no additional charge). We chose the latter. His crew returned in a few days and finished the work during the next week (would have been sooner, but the crew could not climb on the roof when it was snow-covered). We were very happy with the options Chris offered, many companies want to replace the whole roof when there are several shingles with problems. Others would fix the leaks but not prevent future problems. And we loved being able to get the siding repairs done at the same time and to not have to mess with the Kilz ourselves.

Chris responded promptly, assured me that he could do the work on our three-story house, and made sure the repairs were complete before predicted rain appeared later that week. We made all arrangements over the phone and everything went very smoothly. He assured me that he had double-sealed it and that it would never leak.

Chris came over right away, on time, and did an inspection of my roof. He then explained how he would repair the leak, and explained why some of the shingles on other parts of the roof were cracking. He gave me a bid and a warranty. He came back promptly, did the work, and cleaned up. Professional from start to finish.

I was impressed by Chris when I met him; he was professional and very polite. He gave me an estimate to re-roof our shared garage and do some repairs. However, he said he would call me sometime in September/early October to do it. I called him around the 1st of October to check on when he might do the work, and I left a message asking him to get back with me when he had time. It is now the end of October and he has never called me again, so I called another roofing company. I wish he had at least told me he could not do the job.
