I thought they did a fine job at a fair price. The price was fair and very competitive for name brand equipment. They came in and they were professionals. They got it all done in a day.

We contacted Midwest Heating Cooling & Plumbing to discuss repair of our old humidifier, as we could tell it was no longer working. They were very helpful and responsive via email; they were knowledgeable about our humidifier model and advised that it may be quite expensive to service now and in the future. After talking with them, we opted to purchase a new one that would be easier for us and/or them to maintain and service moving forward. They were very flexible with scheduling and confirming our appointment. They came to install the new humidifier it on 1/24/13. They arrived on time and our technician Scott M. was very courteous and professional. He completed his work in less time than he originally quoted. He talked through his recommendations for maintenance and service, as well as use of the new humidifier. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider using them again.

They provided a fair estimate for the work to be done, sent out knowledgeable people and completed the work on time and within the original budget. They had several suggestions that saved us money on the overall project. I was extremely pleased and will call them on any HVAC work that I need in the future.

They were okay. Their service was okay. Their price was not cheap but wasn’t cheap either.

I last used their services about six months ago. We had a clogged pipe and they diagnosed that and cleared it up. Their reception was excellent. The plumber who got here was courteous, polite and thorough. I felt that the price was average.

The installation seemed to go well. The estimator, crew, etc. were all professional. We felt like we had good service and everything was backed up by a 1 year labor and 10 year parts warranty. This winter, we began to have a problem with this unit. One morning, we awoke to find the heat stopped working. The fan was blowing, but only cold air. We called Midwest Heating and Cooling and a service person was sent out. After an afternoon on-site, they replaced the pressure switch and performed some routine maintenance. The service person claimed the problem had been fixed. During this maintenance, the service person also identified some issues with multiple thermostats they installed improperly. He corrected these issues while onsite. Several days later, we had another seemingly unrelated issue with an air handler unit (not installed by Midwest Heating and Cooling) causing a leak (due to a drain pan) in our home. We called Midwest Heating and Cooling service who came out, seemingly corrected the issue and left. Less than a week later, once again we had a leak again with the air handler they had just serviced and "corrected" the issue. After investigating myself, I identified a frozen end of a condensate tube. Not too difficult to troubleshoot. I corrected the issue myself and didn't bother to complain to Midwest heating and Cooling despite being frustrated. Two days later, our upstairs furnace once again stopped heating despite Midwest Heating and Cooling having been out and "correcting" the issue. At this point, I was quite upset. I emailed their management, explained the situation, and informed them we would not be doing business with them again. I received absolutely no response. I then called out a different heating and cooling company. I explained the situation and they sent out an experienced service man as well as the service manager. After spending 2-3 hours investigating, they determined the issue to be an improper installation and more specifically drainage. They corrected the issue and we have not had a problem since. We thought we were paying for quality. Instead, we received terrible installation and service. We spent close to $30,000 with this company in the past two years and we never even received a response from them. We will never use this company again. I would highly advise any potential customers to look elsewhere.

Arrived on time. Very friendly, very professional - he showed ID before coming into the house. After discussing the issue he went straight to the furnace area and fixed the issue. We were new home owners and he explained how the heat pump works, correct settings, updated thermostat options and how to set the dampers correctly. Got his work done in a timely manner and was gone! Will use this company for all my heat and air issues.

This was our second experience with Midwest Heating & Cooling. They helped us out in 2011 when the thermostat wire was yanked out of our AC unit. This time, the unit wouldn't switch on. It's an older unit so we thought it was time for a replacement. The technician assessed the unit and found spider eggs in the way of an electrical switch. He removed the eggs and even cleaned the rest of the unit's interior. He was honest, thorough and timely. I will definitely be using them again.

We had a new furnace and air conditioning unit installed by them within the last five years. They did a good job and were informative about what they were doing and how everything worked. I called the office a few times with questions and they were helpful and informative. The price was good. Last spring I called them with our heat pump not working and they came out a couple of times and did not charge us. They even told us not to have the pump fixed because it is no longer an energy saver with the new government regulations on hte equipment, so they didn't try to extract money from us that was unnecessary. I like them. I would use them again.

In early September 2012, our 30 year old air conditioner bit the dust. The week prior, the temperature had cooled down, but of course, we then had a heatwave of 90 degree + weather, and the old A/C couldn't keep up. I contacted Midwest to have someone give an estimate about a replacement unit, and I easily scheduled an appointment. Mike Epps was the "Comfort Advisor". He arrived right on time and contacted me before to let me know he was on his way. Mike was a true professional. He came and surveyed the exterior and the unit. He then looked around in the basement. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He explained things in a very easy-to-understand manner, and was not condescending. He even offered to evaluate other bids and advise me even if we didn't go with Midwest. He explained a lot of the terminology about A/C and explained what should be done in regards to the workmanship during the installation. Our furnace had been installed by another company. The plenum was incredibly sloppy and literally had been secured with tape. Mike pointed out that the plenum would be redone, but he was also sensitive and tactful about it. Mike also did the unthinkable and explained that we could get sufficient cooling from a 13 SEER Lennox unit. He did not try to upsell me at all. In addition, he told us that the company also provides York units but explained that they had been receiving lots of complaints and did not recommend them. The price was several hundred dollars more than another company, but he definitely impressed me with his expertise. Ultimately, we did not go with Midwest Heating and Cooling, but I now wish we had.

In the future I will call for an estimate on a new furnace. He serviced and cleaned my furnace and checked for any gas leaks. Friendly, professional, and on time and done quickly. Will call them again if I need anything.

Sunday morning I woke up to no heat. I needed emergency service as it was 14 degrees outside & my house was already at 56. I had called another Angie's List company. After an hour of no return call, I called this company. Within literally 2 minutes of talking to the answering service, i received a call from Tom. He was here inside 30 minutes. Had my problem diagnosed & replaced a defective part within another 20. Yeah it cost me a little more, but Tom made it seem bearable. Good attitude, friendly, knowledgable, quick, decisive & efficient. The other company finally called when Tom was just finishing up.

Had them out to check out a temperamental and poorly functioning heater. There was a fair amount of water damage and repairman advised, since unit was 27 years old, to just wait until it conked out and replace. Not worth the expense of fixing. The next week it conked out! The salesman came promptly and discussed the options. He had plenty of thoughts considering it is an older home and has ductwork issues. Recommended two ways to go, one more expensive than the other. We chose the less expensive option and the salesman completely understood and continued to be very helpful. Work crew came and seemed to have a lot of experience doing this. Work was completed within the day and the clean up was good. Their knowledge of older houses and how these systems have been crammed into them was very helpful in identifying and fixing issues with the flues and returns. Very pleased with everything about their work. Hopefully the unit will prove to be a good one. They include a one year labor warranty to go with the ten year parts warranty.

We were initially impressed that Bob Epps, estimator for Midwest Heating & Cooling, was the only one out of 4 bidders who listened intently to our list of concerns with our previous furnace and air conditioner system. He then did a thorough inspection of the whole house before making recommendations that would be in our best interests. The quote for replacing our furnace and air conditioner was not necessarily the cheapest but was unquestionably the best value of any company. Their installers, Matt and Josh arrived on the job exactly when it was scheduled and worked 10 hours straight other than a 10 minute lunch break. Although it was a complex job to convert our 32 year-old system to new high-efficiency units, they did a beautiful job and every part required fit like a glove thanks to the thorough and accurate measuring by the original estimator. One of their company trucks arrived within minutes after the removal of the old furnace and air conditioner to haul them away. like a perfectly choreographed operation. And when the installers finished, they left our basement much cleaner than when they arrived. It has been a great experience and we would highly recommend Midwest Heating and Cooling to anyone for their furnace and air conditioning needs.

The entire experience went very smoothly. The technician kept me informed what he was doing the entire time and was very willing to answer all my questions. I will definitely use them again.

They come twice a year and maintain our units.

Made an appointment with Carolyn to have sales advisor Bob Epps evaluate our home for a new furnace, humidifier, and water heater. Bob never showed up, nor did he call. I guess $10,000 is too small a budget for them. Shop elsewhere.

Everything in our system was checked and and furnace filter replaced. There was a slight noise problem that they immediately returned to fix. As usual, they did great work.
