Midwest Heating & Air replaced my furnace back in December, 2011. They were professional, conscious about my price/budget limitations, and, I felt, had a lot of integrity. Steve was the guy that came out to check the furnace, recommended a new one (the old one was not working), and gave me the estimate. Two younger guys actually installed the unit. All of this happened within a matter of days. So, when the A/C went out, I pretty much knew I was going to have them do the A/C. However, I had a friend of mine (an HVAC guy) troubleshoot it and he was the one that determined the compressor was bad. Well, with a bad compressor on a 10+ year old system, you might as buy new. I eventually called Steve at Midwest to tell him I was ready for a new A/C. He came out promptly as we had planned, and quickly gave me an estimate on the spot. Again, he took into consideration both my price limitations and my situation (getting ready to sell my house). He recommended a specific unit - showed me the options, and I ended up choosing the first unit he recommended. He called the order into his shop and the next morning, the guys were at the house ready to install the new unit with coil. Took them about 3 hours, as I recall. The cooler weather hasn't mandated using it as much as when the old unit failed, but I'm glad to know it's fixed, working, and I have found a reliable, honest, HVAC company.

Service was excellant. Very quick service, professional, priced appropriately.

My experience with them went well and I set up a contract with them to service my heating and air conditioning system both in the spring as well as the fall. A few days later after their initial visit I had a problem with the air conditioning system and they came back and found a condenser which had failed. They replaced this and did not charge me any additional service call except the cost of the part. They were on time and did what they advertised that they were going to do. They back up their service and I would use them again in the future.

It went fine. Tech was on time and performed the service in a reasonable amount of time. He was very helpful with questions regarding the HVAC system and the additional add-ons on my system. I would recommend them.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it was fine. The promotion was supposed to be for furnace cleaning but I opted for them to do an air conditioning cleaning instead. They were very polite and very professional. There were no problems.

Because it seemed high, we got a second opinion and the company that came out and looked it and found that wires had been disconnected and that the wires simply needed to be reattached. The repair with the second company was only $180. I am so glad that we got a second opinion. The experience from Midwest Heating Cooling & Plumbing made me very skeptical and leery of future service providers.

The service provided to me by Midwest Heating Cooling & Plumbing LLC was good. He did a very thorough job. I was quite pleased with it. He did not know that I had purchased a Big Deal. I had to show him my receipt. That was a little strange. The company needs to advise their service people better. If I hadn't had been more astute, I would have paid the $120.00 he was going to invoice me for.

They did a very professional check do all systems.

Our AC quit working on a Friday night in 90 degree heat. We called them Saturday morning and the technician called us back 10 minutes later and said he had a couple of other jobs and he would be there in 2-3 hours. He called back an hour later and said one job got canceled and he was on his way. We had the problem of a bad capacitor diagnosed and fixed in about 30 minutes. Parts cost about $130 and the rest was labor. Can't complain too much for such quick service on a Saturday.

Contractor that installed the HVAC systems did so incorrectly, causing issues ever since the installation. Several other companies have been out to try and remedy the problem (including the original contractor) to no avail. Midwest is the one who finally got it right.

Our 11 year old air conditioner gave out and would no longer cool. I called another company first since they promised same day service. They added freon but it only held for two days. Because of the price on a new coil and compressor, I decided to call Midwest to trace the leak since they installed the system when the house was built. It was found immediately in the A coil by the technician. I could clearly see it myself. Since new freon is now replacing the old type I wanted to make sure that if the compressor ever went out It would be compatible with the new A coil. Otherwise I would have to replace not only the compressor but the new A coil so they would be compatible with the new freon I therefor decided to replace them both because of the age. Kevin and James came out promptly on Monday morning and finished the job in 3 1/2 hours. They spread drop cloths all over the inside paths (it was raining) and cleaned up everything. They were absolutely fantastic; Professional, courteous and efficient. Wow!! this company and the people are great

The technician that was sent out replaced the leaking valve seal in the shower and then said that since I had to pay for a minimum of 1 hour (for the service call) and he had only used about 30 minutes to fix what I called them out for, he asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at. He was punctual, professional, courteous and actually fixed everything I asked him to look at. I haven't had any problems with what he fixed since he left!

Bill was prompt and very friendly. He thoroughly examined every part of our heating and cooling system, changed our filter, cleaned the outdoor portion of the AC system. He gave me a lot of information on maintaining the HVAC system.

Dale came on a short notice and at an inconvenient time (Saturday). He efficiently diagnosed and repaired the issue. Dale was very professional and thorough. He did a great job!

It was fine! Our experience with them was satisfactory. They had the work done on time, and there was no mess. Also, they did follow up.

My air conditioner was not cooling the house at all. I called Midwest and was given a time for a tech to come out. Dean arrived on time, he was courteous, knowledgeable, and diagnosed and fixed the problem right away. I have used this company several times over the past 3 years, and have always been pleased with their service. Both of my units are old, but they have never attempted to pressure me into putting in new systems.

Two years ago and just last week I called this company for service on our furnace and air conditioner. Two years ago they misdiagnosed they problem and I had to call another company to fix the mess Midwest made. Then last week I called one more time and even though they promised twice they would make it out that day. They never showed up

I called Midwest at 7:30 am on July 24 and asked them if they could come to the house and check the unit because air was not coming out of the vents on the main floor. I was told they would work us in between 8 am and 5 pm. I asked if it could be between 10 am and 5 pm and they agreed. They were busy but since we have purchased two AC units from them and used them in the past, they would schedule service that day. I waited at home all day and when no one had arrived by 4:30 PM, I called the office again and asked if anyone was coming to my house. They confirmed the technician had been dispatched and would call when they were on there way. No one came to the house that day to service the AC. I called the office the next morning and asked why no one came to the house. They apologized and said they would dispatch him. I asked why he did not provide service on July 24th and she said he had tried to call the house and could not get in touch with us. I confirmed they had the correct phone number and told her the technician was not telling the truth because I was home all day and the phone rang but it was not their technician. She then told me they call on a phone that restricts caller ID. I told her that we answer all calls when expecting service. I do find it interesting that a service organization would call customers on a phone that restricts caller ID. Why would they do this? Use Midwest at your own risk. I had problems in the past but decided to try them again due to the high rating on Angie's List. They did not show up as promised and gave a reason that is highly suspect in my opinion. I would try another highly rated organization on the list.
