They were able to get in there, give me a good quote and get the job done the very next day after I contacted them. They provide a prompt service and a good price. When you hire them, you can expect their responsiveness and honesty. I would absolutely use their services again in the future if I need to. I actually referred my neighbor to them and he got an air conditioner put in the next week and we both got a $100 referral bonus for doing that.
Description of Work: I used Midwest Heating, Cooling & Plumbing LLC probably three months ago for installing a new furnace coil and an air conditioner.

I want to highly recommend both Midwest as a company, and their employees. We?ve gotten excellent repair service in July 2012. They replaced our entire heating and cooling system in February 2013. I waited to write this review to see if they lived up to what they said in their bid and they have. If I needed a new furnace/ac unit I would hire them again because their work and replacement costs were fabulous. In the summer of 2012 I got bids from eight companies to replace my heating/ac system because the AC was not working well and the system was twenty-two years old. The AC coil leaked and needed half of the freon replaced. Someone recommended Midwest so I had them come service the unit so the heat would not kill us and then began the quest for bids. Bids on these types of units can be confusing. Each company rep has their own thoughts on what you need. With eight I was totally confused. So I turned to the internet and researched the brands Lennox and York systems. Those were the two manufacturers which were bid by the companies for my home. What I found was I needed model numbers to get a good comparison. Once I?d limited the bids to two companies I asked for model numbers. Midwest charged substantially less for a comparable unit. They wanted my business. When it came time for the installation we had just received ten inches snow, so they willingly moved the date by two weeks and we were fine. Since I was having the AC unit replaced I didn?t want that done in a lot of snow. The technicians came out on time, were cleanly dressed and fabulous, very personable. They worked quickly to minimize the time the heat was off so the house would not freeze. When you replace a furnace in February this is a consideration because the outside temperature was below 30 degrees. It took them less than six hours to replace both units and get us heat again. The removal of the old furnace was difficult because it was huge. It took a filter 25 inches by 25 inches. The new one takes a filter which is 20X24 approximately. That extra five inches made the removal hard work as they tried to get it through the door frames, but they didn?t damage the walls during the removal. Once the new furnace was in place, they connected the duct work manufactured at their warehouse to the existing duct work of my home. The work they did is quality! They even made a side pocket of sheet metal to hold the manuals so they would remain with the furnace, but out of the way. While they were replacing the furnace they noticed one of our hot water heaters had no pilot light. I explained we needed to replace the thermocouple and it was more than we wanted to spend at this time. They asked if they could do this for me at no charge and I said YES!!! As a courtesy they replaced the broken thermocouple saving me the cost of hiring a plumber to do this work. They did not charge for the thermocouple. I am grateful for the extra hot water, and their kindness in this repair. When they replaced the AC unit the tech lifted the existing concrete slab, reworked the soil to level it, and put the original slab back. Then he put a second slab on top of the original one to give it more strength. The unit sits well and level which is critical for the AC unit to work right. As I have a finished basement, and they can?t get to the freon lines for replacement, they used a flush kit and it worked fine, because the AC worked well all summer long. The house reached temperature without the unit struggling, and we could lower the temp without the unit taking hours to catch up. Midwest promised a pre-summer tuneup and a pre-winter tuneup. So even though they were here in February, they came again in April to set the AC properly. Since the temps were not warm enough to get a good adjustment, they came again in May and readjusted the settings for maximum efficiency for the AC unit, all costs included in the furnace/ac replacement bid. They came again in the fall of 2013 to adjust the furnace for maximum efficiency, all the cost included in the bid. Every time they came, the techs were on time, cleanly dressed, knowledgable and respectful. As I said at first, I would rehire them again. I have absolutely no complaints. Their price was fair. The quality more than met my expectations. Their technicians were wonderful, and on time. Everyone I spoke with was professional and knowledgable. Each time I called the office they were responsive and did what they needed to address my questions.
Description of Work: They first replaced the freon in the Air Conditioner Compressor, July 2012. The cost of this repair went towards the cost of a complete replacement in February 2013.

They showed up to repair an air conditioning unit that was making a lot of noise and not working well. I was given the option of replacing the entire until and what it connect to on the inside of the house for $5000 + or replace a major part for less than $1000. If I opted for the replacement I was told it would be about three weeks. This is a rental house and I opted to go for the less expensive replacement to get the air going for price at the time and the fact that it was in the peak of summer. They initially made it over late in the day and surprisingly stayed to complete the repair and get the air going. The quote for the replacement was a lot because I currently have an older system and the entire thing would need to be upgraded with the new freon regulations and system changes. I was happy that they gave me an immediate option to get the problem fixed instantly but did let me know what would eventually be in my future without any pressure.

We hadn't been able to get the dampers set correctly to balance the heat between the two floors of our house. Not only did Kenny come out within an hour of my call, but he was knowledgeable, professional, and didn't try to sell us anything. This is the best service we have received from any HVAC contractor in the past and we will definitely be calling Midwest again when it's time to upgrade our systems.

Process started with Mike Epps providing a detailed quote. He is very knowledgeable, helpful and honest so it is easy to understand system options, and how everything would work from start to finish once I accepted his quote. He was great at follow through and ensuring job was promptly scheduled for install. The install crew arrived on time and did the work well without any issues. Once the job was complete they went over the system with me. The owner Jack Lambert came to my home at the end of the install to go over the thermostat with me to ensure I was trained on how to use it and that the Wi-Fi and phone app were all taken care of. After getting several quotes I was very happy I went with Midwest Heating & Cooling as I felt I got a quality system (Lennox) along with excellent service, a qualified/experienced install crew as well as good admin follow up by the office staff in regards to tax deduction paperwork and customer satisfaction follow up. Everyone I dealt with was great and was always willing to answer my questions. I know Midwest Heating & Cooling wants their customers happy and from start to finish was more than able to provide that for me. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone needing service or HVAC system replacement.

The service took about 30 minutes, it went fine. My only issue was that I requested 30 minute call ahead since I will typically go to the office until I get the call ahead when the service appointment time is a few hour long window. I did not get a call ahead, but I was at home so no big deal.

We were very pleased with the work that Midwest did. We had estimates from a number of companies and found Midwest to be competitively priced. Mike was fair and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. He listened to our challenges and recommended the solution that would best meet our needs. A year later, we've seen our heating and cooling bills decrease. The 2 zone damper system was the best investment we've every made. The heating and cooling is much more regulated in our house and we no longer have hot/cold rooms. We will definately use Midwest when it is time to replace our funace and hot water heater.

Went well, although serviceman was clearly selling his own company over other companies. He basically said most ac/heating companies bid jobs to win the bid, and not to do job correctly and indicated the ductwork going to and from the system was undersize. He may be right as I have no way of confirming this. The system was put in by Climate Control about five years ago.

It was hot. This company met another's price and worked extremely hard to keep us comfortable immediately even though they couldn't get to us right away during the heat. It was very hot. From the sales person to the installers everyone was exceedingly kind and professional. the finished work was impeccable. My husband and I go down to the basement and admire the installation, including the piping and connections just for fun. We feel so lucky to have gotten these folks. We are older and the salesman's care of our needs; the extra time he put in to make us comfortable; the after hours he spent was so pleasing. The cost is because we had the AC and furnace both replaced. The cleanup was marvelous. We thank them for their excellent work and kindness. We recommend them to everyone. My sister helped us find them.

This was a great experience! I called early in the morning and had a service provider there in just a couple of hours. I had gotten several bids from other companies and decided from looking at Angie's list to call Midwest Heating and Cooling. This was the smartest move I have made recently. The morning I called we were able to make an appointment for that afternoon to get an onsite bid. Tom Dedecker came and discussed my options for furnaces. He measured the old unit to make sure the new unit would fit under my old A/C. I decided on a 96% Lennox model EL296E two stage furnace. The price was 3150 installed plus I will receive a $200 tax credit this year. Mr Dedecker was a pleasure to deal with and was absolutely correct in recommending this model furnace. The install was scheduled for the morning of 10/09/2013. I received a call on 10/08 confirming the 10/09 service and another call on 10/09 confirming the arrival time of the install team. Kevin and Ziggy were the installers and arrived exactly on time. They were friendly and professional. They placed tarps over the carpet and kept everything spotless. The install started at 8:30 am and was finished by noon. When they removed the old furnace they showed me the problems it was having and assured me that replacing it was a wise decision. The install of the new furnace was super professional. Everything was well done and very neat. The old plastic vent pipes were reinstalled correctly because they had previously been done wrong. They cycled the new unit through all modes to assure that both heat and A/C worked correctly. When they left, everything was spotless. I would recommend Midwest Heating and Cooling to anyone needing HVAC work done. I cannot say enough good things about the company and the employees. The new furnace is amazing. It is so quiet and heats so well. It also has a new DC motor that saves on electricity. When I need a new A/C I will use Midwest and I will request Kevin and Ziggy for the install.
