Our heat had gone out and when we called they said they would try to work us in. They got to us in good time and replaced a circuit board in our furnace. We were very happy with the gentleman they sent out he was efficient and courteous.We Plan on using this company again.

I noticed earlier this winter that our humidifier was no longer working. Assumed it was the solenoid, so called Midwest on 01/29 to schedule service call. Was told they could get me in on Thursday the 30th between 9 AM and noon, but that I would be the first call on the list. Music to my ears, since that meant I wouldn't miss much work. Didn't hear from anyone by 11 AM so I called for an ETTA and to let them know that I had to run a quick errand (lunch time). No problems, the tech arrived around 11:40. Nice guy. Showed him to the basement and it took him all of 3 minutes to determine it was the saddle valve on the supply and not the actual solenoid. Quoted my $149 to replace the valve. $99 for the service call and $50 to replace a $6 part. He also provided quotes to replace saddle valve AND the solenoid as well as replace both valves plus a 1 year service agreement. I wasn't thrilled, but since I was already on the hook for the service call, I swallowed my pride and told him to go ahead and replace just saddle valve. Upon completion he said to keep an eye on it as it's not uncommon for the solenoid to fail after the saddle had been replaced. The humidifier worked for about 24 hours and the sure enough the solenoid failed. I decided to replace the solenoid myself. When I went to turn off the new saddle valve, it was leaking. So not only had the solenoid failed as predicted, the new $149 saddle valve was defective. I replaced both of them myself for approximately $52. I suppose it was dumb luck that the replacement saddle was defective. But for $149 I would have expected the tech to remove the old valve, snip out/replace the copper where the original valve was located and then installed the new one. Nope. Just closed the old valve and disconnected the supply and slapped on the new valve. I guess it's my fault for not asking ahead of time. Not sure I have much recourse because i got impatient and did the repair myself. I'm not really in a position at the moment to take off another day of work to have them come out and do the same quickie repair. At some point in the spring, I'll replace the copper pipe w/ that is now home to 1 functioning saddle valve and 2 bad ones. For the record, we have had excellent service from Mid-West in the past. They installed our furnace and a/c a few years ago and did an excellent job. I guess I'll just eat the $149 and chalk it up to bad luck. ***UPDATE 02/18/2014*** The service manager called me and arranged for a plumber to come out and replace the saddle valves with a dedicated T. The plumber was prompt and very polite. I was stuck on the phone when he arrived, so I stayed out of his way and let him do his thing. If i had to guess, it maybe took 20 minutes to remove the existing copper piping and replace w/ a T and connect to the humidifier supply. Not that anyone will ever really see it, but it looks a MILLION times better and will be even more reliable. I appreciate Bill and the folks at Midwest for reaching out to us to offer a fix to the solution. We will be calling them back soon to schedule spring time check up on our A/C. Thanks!

The serve rep arrived on time, checked the furnace and air conditioner, and made sure that other peripheral appliances, like the electric air cleaner and humidifier, were working. He was efficient, knew what he was doing, answered my questions well and performed the work he was there to do.

The gentleman who performed the service was on time, explained exactly what he was doing. I am very pleased with the service I received.

I have been using their services for about 30 years. We have worked closely with Brian. He has done the duct work in two different houses for counter top ranges and he has done an excellent job. They are reliable and do what you expect of them. They have good technicians who do great work. I have always had a good experience with them. I think that they are one of the best out here.

I called Midwest to request an estimate on replacing the flue at my sons' house. They arrived as scheduled ( I was late ). They gave an estimate and we scheduled a time to have the work completed. They returned a week or two later as agreed upon and replaced the flue as promised. The flue was difficult to reach because the attic access was so small but they did the work well and showed me the rusted and previously duct taped flue after removing it through the narrow attic access. They did a good job and I appreciated their work. They cleaned up after the work was done and were professional in their interactions with me.

The two technicians installed the Humidifier within 45 - 60 minutes. They sealed off a pretty bad area in my basement to keep the cold air from coming in without even being asked thus demonstrating concern fro our well-being beyond the humidifier issue. Thank you very much again!!!! They handed me as well a reminder for the annual service contract agreement I had discussed over the phone, and which had come out a lot less expensive than with some other providers.

Everything was perfect. A crew of two technicians arrived on time and were courteous and professional. I appreciate very much that they wore shoe covers. The install went perfectly with no problems at all and I'm now enjoying warm humidified air. My cat appreciates not being shocked now when I touch him! Thanks Midwest!!

Installed humidifier on furnace, which seems to be working fine. There was some confusion about the appointment date, apparently related to it being a "big deal" offer, so they did not show the first time I was supposed to have an appointment. On time the next time though, and very kind and helpful.

They were excellent. I've had them back since then. I think the technician's name was Mike and he was outstanding! I had some problems with my furnace that weren't pointed out in the previous inspections. They were very good. He said they weren't going to charge me any more than the $59 Big Deal that I purchased but I did have them come back and do some work later on that I paid for as well but that was for a repair, it wasn't a Big Deal purchase. There were absolutely no problems or complaints. I was totally pleased.

I called the office when the service person did not come out during the times set by the company. The office let him know I had called and he was very good at telling me when he would be there and where I was on the work list. The serviceman showed up earlier than when he had said he would be there. he was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He identified that the filter had clogged before the 3 month period and he replaced it. He also found that the capacitor on the blower fan was not working at optimum. He suggested replacing it. He saw that the furnace is almost 20 years old and recommended that we consider replacing it. He answered questions without hesitation and had a very good working knowledge of the furnace.

Installed Aprilaire whole-house humidifier.

Seasonal inspection and tune-up. Found one sensor oxidized. Replaced and ops checked. Adjusted furnace fan speed and flow control for even heat distribution. Very friendly and professional conduct. Serviceman was Bill.

Installed a new air conditioner and a higher efficiency furnace. Work was completed timely. Installed the wrong model A/C, but corrected promptly. Fixed an issue caused by a spider nest on a service call several months after the install and were very responsive.

Our 12 year old heat pump stopped working. The cost of the repair on a 12 year old system was too high. We called Midwest Heating and Cooling, and two other companies for estimates. Tom DeDecker came out to our house the next morning and provided us with a detailed estimate of the costs for replacing the 12 year old system with a new Lennox heat pump and furnace. Tom's estimate was exceptionally well written, with details of the work they would perform and the discounts and rebates we would receive. In the end, the estimate from Midwest was $1,700 below the other two estimates we received. We called Tom back the next day and scheduled an appointment for the following Thursday morning to have the new system installed. We received a telephone reminder the night before, which informed us that Mike and Ziggy would be arriving at our home between 8:30 and 9:00 the next morning to handle the installation, and that it would take most of the day. Mike and Ziggy arrived on time, and immediately went to work. Both were polite and answered all the questions we had about the new system. They finished their work about 2 PM, and left the basement cleaner than when they arrived. All in all, everyone we had contact with from Midwest Heating and Cooling was remarkably professional. We will certainly use this company for future service work/annual cleanings on our new system.
