Had appointment set up for morning. Never showed up or bothered to call. Got another company to do work.

I had purchased all of the door hardware beforehand. The locksmith only installed the hardware and re-drilled one of the two doors to accommodate the new deadbolt.. There were no surprises with the installation. The work was completed exactly as I had anticipated. The charges for the actual installation were reasonable. Only the $70.00 trip charge seemed to me a bit steep.

I purchased a new home and since there were 4 different brands of locks, it was easier to have them rekeyed. I took them to McGuire's and they were able to rekey everything. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and was able to rekey all the locks with only 2 different keys. (1 brand was not compatable.) He was able to do all this the same afternoon. I would definitely use them for all my lock and key needs.

At 11:15 I still had not heard from them so I placed a call and spoke with the same person, that I set the appointment up with. His response was that they should be there sometime today and that was the best he could do. I canceled and called another locksmith with better customer service. Note to owner, my time is also valuable and your employees should at the very least call at said time to let the customer know that A) They are scheduled in for the day. B) If you are unable to give a specific time you should be able to provide a window or be able to let the customer know if they can expect you in the a.m. or p.m.. C) Be courteous and show the customer that you care.

My ignition would not turn at all in my Ford F150. I first called a locksmith located about 4 blocks from my house. They were less than helpful and didn't really seem like they wanted to deal with it. So I called McGuire Lock and Safe because of the high ratings on Angie's List. When I first called, they gave me some things to try to get the key to turn. I appreciated them trying to get it fixed. None of those ideas worked however so I called them back around noon. They said they thought someone would make it out that afternoon. About 3:30 I received a call from someone saying they were on their way. About a half hour later they arrived. I believe the locksmith who came out was named Bob. Very nice guy and went right to work. He was unable to un-jam the ignition so he had to completely drill it out and install a new cylinder. After about 45 minutes, he had my truck operational again. I also requested that he make a new key as I only received one when I bought the truck. The key is one of those with a chip inside so it did add to the cost but I now have a second key. They were a great company to deal with.

I called them on Tuesday to ask them about making a set of keys for my son's car, he had lost his 3rd set and the car had set in our driveway for a couple weeks not knowing what it would cost us to replace them. I had called a couple other places closer to me and was told they couldn't help me or that it would cost between $175-$200. McGuire looked up the year and make of my car and told me it would cost approx. $48 but I would need to bring them the title and/or proof of insurance so they were able to see that I did own the vehicle. Although it was quite a drive for me it seemed worth it for the price. I made my way to the Shop on Wednesday morning at 7:30am and by 7:45am I was on my way home. Not only did they make me 2 new keys but they gave me the car code to keep in my file incase this should happen again and was told with that code any locksmith in my area could make me a new set. Then to top it off the cost was only $35. Great people who truely look out for their customers! I would make the drive to give them my business everytime!

He came out -- was on time and had all the door/locks adjusted ... as well as the front door metal plate fixed very FAST .... Gave us 4 copies of the new key.... it was the exact price they quoted over the phone AND gave us a discount for having mentioned Angiies list .....everything went perfectly and they were very personable

The locksmith wasn't very friendly, but not rude... Did the job ok, but price was double what the ex-wife paid to have this done about 1 month prior using another locksmith.

he came on time, got the work done efficiently. The quality of the work was excellent, and he was really just a nice man to work with.

Our doorknob wouldn't turn from the inside so we couldn't get out. McGuire came the same day and adjusted the screw on the knob and it now works better than it has in several years. They only charged the trip charge, no parts. Nice people to work with, I would hire them again and recommend them.

They did a great job; I have no complaints. They were very fast and efficient. They came in and quickly got everything done. The price was pretty fair and reasonable.

Overall I was very satisfied with the job. However, I was quoted one price on the phone and then charged a higher price after the job was completed. Also, the guy who changed the locks never heard of Angie's List and wouldn't take my 10% off coupon that I printed out.

We have many doors and we are going to have the whole house re-keyed to one key. They were very nice and quick to respond. When some is quick to respond and follow up that means a lot.

Technician re-keyed entire house (after taking posession of new home.) They were clean, timely, professional. At the end he made as many copies of my key as I requested.

Originally called to survey the house for keypad entry locks. After further inspection we discovered a commercial grade keypad lock system would not work because we lacked clearance between the door and storm doors. Serviceman recommended an alternate method that would achieve our end result. I?ve been using this company for over 20 years and they?ve never let me down.

They do a great and are very experienced and a great clean company to hire. I have used them multiple times.

We use them on a regular basis for our rental business. Just a few places will have the product selection of keys and parts to fit most locks, and they seemed to have the products. We had some locks that ever worked, and they have taken back, fixed some or replaced some. We had no problems. They were easy to get in touch with.

The entire operation was professional. Prompt service, courteous, knowledgable, eager-to-please, neat and cleaned up after himself. The charge included a $70.00 service call fee, which I thought was quite reasonable. McGuire is one of the few service organizations I have found that has a goal of repairing what you have - rather than selling you a new device. Atta-boys.

I chose not to use this company. While trying to arrange a time for them to come to the house, the person I spoke to made disparaging remarks about the president. There is no reason to hire someone who lacks business sense and is disrespectful. He also talked down to me as a woman. When choosing among several highly qualified businesses, I have the option to use someone I trust. If he has no more sense than that, I do not need him working in my house.

We needed our lock re-keyed because a babysitter quit without returning our key. McGuire was able to come within hours. The tech was very experienced and knowledgeable. I wanted the lock replaced because it was very old, from the 50s or 60s, and was very worn and would do crazy things like the top layer turning independently from the inside tumblers. The tech suggested that replacing the cylinder was sufficient, and in addition matched the color of the cylinder to the rest of the door hardware (pewter). He also replaced the strike plate and adjusted it perfectly. Prior to this our deadbolt closed, but the spring lock didn't line up so it wasn't doing any good. Cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, prompt - would use this company again in a heartbeat.

Was completely professional, did exactly what he was supposed to do and price was fair. He could have replaced a couple of locks, instead he replaced one and re-keyed the rest to match. He also unplugged a garage door opener that I was unable to get to.

I recommend them because they are conveniently located. They do a good job and I will use them again in the future.

They are great. The company is very punctual. They came out any time I needed them. I have used the company to unlock doors, make keys, and open a safe. I am very satisfied with the services they provided.

They have been around forever, and do good work. I found them to be very meticulous and I would highly recommend them.
