 + -1 moreBugs are bad enough....but your bugman shouldn't be too. And ours wasn't! The Ops. Mgr. for eastern Jackson County, John, and his new sidekick, Sam, put the kibosh on our bugs. They took the time to explain what they were going to do and how it was going to work. And they didn't even judge (out loud, anyway) when I brought out my bag 'o buggies I'd been saving for show and tell. Turns out it was just a wee little Jumping Spider (whatever that is....). Sidebar: John is getting a degree in bugs. And I think it's pretty cool that someone actually WANTS to look at, identify, and then annihilate the little insects that give me nightmares. Thank you, John!!! Overall, good experience and good, thorough service.
Description of Work: Bombed the attic areas for Silver fish and killed all the other little boogers and spread some bad bug juice all over the inside and outside to prevent them from getting us in the future!

 + -1 moreOn June 9th, I called Gunter to schedule an appointment to treat my home for carpenter ants. The representative asked if the ants were inside and outside of the home. Then I was given a quote based on the number of bathrooms and bedrooms. I agreed to set an appointment for service based on that quote. I ended up paying 30% more than the quote for "carpenter ant treatment."
Description of Work: Sprayed the inside and outside of the house for insects. Treated for carpentar ants inside and outside of the house.

 + -1 moreI had found termites in my house and was trying to get 3 estimates. Gunter was highly rated on here, so I called them first. (the Blue Springs number) Called once or twice a day over the course of 3 or 4 days. Always got an answering machine. Left 2 or 3 messages and never got a call back. It doesn't matter how good you are if I can't ahold of you.

 + -1 moreI have had ants coming into my home for the past 2 months, and had about given up on ever being rid of them, which is what prompted me to call Gunter. John Meyers, the technician, was very knowledgeable about the problem. He told me he is studying entomology, and he radiated confidence that my ant infestation was going to be managed. John explained Gunter's 6-month guarantee policy, and he also explained how he planned to treat for the ants. Then he went to work. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. During the treatment, he gave extra emphasis to my living room window and patio door, which is where the ants have been entering my home for quite some time. One of the more powerful insecticides which he used was quite odorous, and John apologized for the smell. It is now a week later, and the ants have slowed way down, but unfortunately they have not stopped coming in. I plan to call Gunter and ask for them to come out and retreat. I have every confidence that Gunter will ultimately get rid of my ant problem.
Description of Work: After reading high recommendations about Gunter on Angie's List, I asked them to come out and assist with my problem with ants coming into my house. John Meyers, the service technician, sprayed the entire inside of the house (including basement and garage). Next, he sprayed with a different and more powerful insecticide around the window and sliding glass door. Afterwards, he sprinkled a powder all around the outside of the house. John examined the ants that were coming into my house and was able to identify that one of them was a carpenter ant. As he was treating our house, he kept an eye out for potential damage from the ants, but was unable to spot any damage. John explained that we had a 6-month guarantee on the treatment, meaning that if we called Gunter back out for a continued ant problem any time within the next 6 months, the cost would be only $35 for a re-treatment. However, John stated that if we called him back out any time within the first 30 days, he probably wouldn't charge us anything. He gave us a $10 discount for being an Angie's List member.

They were very professional and informative as to what to really do if I ever saw any other tracks. He inspected the rest of the house inside and out and gave me some good tips on what to do to help avoid their damage. Very much worth the $50.

It meant that they had to come back at another time to complete the job. They were only too happy to be accommodating. They have been back for a follow up inspection and treatment and I cannot see us using anyone else.
