I would highly recommend Bordners. They have gone above and beyond in working with me and the stucco issue. Tom has been out to my house on a few occasions to do additional inspections and has willingly worked with my insurance company. They have made a difficult situation much easier to deal with.

They did a good job. We decided to use this company because of their good reputation. I would recommend this company to anyone.

There were no surprises with this professional installation. All potential issues were discussed with us well in advance of the crew showing up. The materials arrived a few days ahead of time and the crew was quite punctual and professional. The final cost was within a hundred dollars of the estimate, only because several rotted plywood boards had to be replaced, but I would much rather have the roof done right than to put it over bad boards. The supervisor came by each day to inspect the work and discuss the job. They came across a problem with the siding around several windows while installing the roof, and came up with their own solution that would solve the issue until we get the siding replaced in a few months. After the job was complete, the crew was very thorough with the clean-up effort. They went through the yard and driveway quite carefully with a roller magnet to ensure that we would not be driving over any nails and our dog would not walk on them in the yard. We are very happy with our new roof and the gutters look fantastic. This company was wonderful to work with from getting the estimate all the way through installation.

Bordner worked quick and were communicative. They did their best to honor a estimate that was over a year old and were very open about increases in charges before they happened. I would use them again and probably will to do another side of my home.

It was too expensive. They were very nice. The quote was for $60000. They seemed knowledgeable. It was just much too expensive. They were pretty responsive. They seemed very professional. They were bidding a product that we've decided that we weren't really interested in yet.

work done.They replaced the glass in both skylights and when I told them that one of the skylights still leaked they came back the next day and repaired the flashing around the leaking skylight. Problem solved and I am very happy with their quick and professional work. I would gladly recommend Bordner to any one needing skylight repair or replacement.

They did good work and good clean-up. We had a small issue with follow-up – they were supposed to leave the screens in the yard, but someone thought they were supposed to haul it away. They solved the problem, though, and I got them back.

The job was slow getting started because of weather, but once the weather cleared the guys were here and they stayed pretty much until the job was done [ almost 2 weeks ]. Everything looks great and we have no complaints as of this date 9/12/14. the entire job was performed with a great deal of professionalism. No one asked for money until we went thru a walk thru with the project manager. Very detail oriented. This company has it togeather all the way from the first call we made to finish. AAA

I was disappointed in the work done by Bordner Installations. Based on previous reviews, I chose this company, even though they were more expensive. The poor quality and problems, requiring time-consuming return visits to correct, made it unnecessarily stressful. The job was done two months after the estimate was prepared---mostly due to weather issues. The condition of the damaged area was not affected. The estimator failed to write down some of the worst damage, in the trim adjacent to the replaced wood, and when the roofer contacted him---was told to cover it up with metal plates, and not show it to the homeowner (I was home the entire time)! I happened to walk out and see what he was doing, and was very disturbed that rotten places --holes in the wood big enough for a bat to enter the roof - on totally visible trim--- were not brought to my attention, and were not going to be repaired. The roofer apologized, and agreed to replace the rotten piece of wood. He also agreed to replace one 8-foot soffit panel, which was new, but damaged - warped with large air bubbles in the surface (not noticeable until he was painting it). Another roofer came the following day and installed kick-outs, which the estimator had also forgotten to write down, and replaced the defective panel. He also replaced 2 vent gaskets further up on the roof -- in exchange for 4 feet of soffit, which the estimator included in the price, but were not necessary. A 3rd trip was necessary by the roofer to attach clips to secure the gutter to the house - the original nails were not used in two places. They were found inside the gutter, bent. Both workers were very courteous and I have no complaints about them. The estimator and his poor communication were the root of the problem, along with the policy of "covering up" serious wood rot, and not giving the homeowner a chance to be involved in that decision. Two different inspectors viewed the work, and I was not impressed with their expertise or patronizing attitude. My advice to potential customers---don't choose Bordner, and if you do, watch closely while the work is being done--or you may have surprises in the years to come-----more work needing to be done after the warranty expires.

The installation went fine, but unfortunately it didn't solve our attic ventilation problem because of some vaulting between the soffit vents and the roof. Bordner did their best and their work was well done. Our next step is to try to install insulation baffles in the vaulted areas. This is something that Bordner can only do from the roof, so it's not a cost-effective answer to have them try this. They suggested that we try this step ourselves because if it can be done, the materials are quite inexpensive. They were very helpful in providing suggestions for accomplishing this.

I called Bordner based on the referral from my insurance agent. This is the email I sent to the general manager when I got the email saying my job was complete: "Rob, thank you for the email, however, I will tell you that I am very disappointed in your company and won't be giving any referrals or good reviews. I told my daughter in law to call you, however, I will suggest she find someone else. 1st of all, I had more than just a roof that was detailed in the summary from the adjuster - roof, guttering, siding were the 3 most significant issues. Noel had me sign a contract on the roof and when I asked about the siding and guttering, he said we'd get the roof taken care of first - he'd handle all with the insurance company, etc. I had to call a couple of times to find out what I needed to do because it seemed like it was taking an awfully long time just to hear back. I know you're busy, so this was the least of my concerns. Once the roof was completed, I did not hear from Noel, I just got a bill. On this bill it says, "amount agreed to with insurance company - 0" This concerns me so I called him, he said this was the same bill sent to the insurance company and would I let him know if they got the bill, etc. I again asked about the guttering and siding and he told me you don't do siding repair and you would do the guttering, - but apparently you won't do a thing until the payment for the roof is made, because I haven't heard a thing. I do not appreciate being led on that all the work I wanted done would be completed by you and in the end, I'm needing to find someone else. I've got someone else to do the guttering and who will repair the siding. This person also asked me why there is no ventilation in the roof on the garage? So I'm asking you - why is there no ventilation on the roof over the garage? This is all I ask of you now. I intend to call an inspector to find out if this is the way things are done today. I know there were vents before. I will also add that the roofing guy - I forget his name, was very kind." As a follow-up - Noel insisted on meeting to go over this email, though as I said, I don't know why. There was nothing they could do except fix the ventilation in the roof over the garage - which they did. He said they would call first, but a gentleman just showed up. I printed out a page from the website stating they do siding repair and I also read a review saying they repaired someone else's siding. I feel cheapened, as if my home is not good enough to have "Bordner" work on it. My daughter-in-law never did get a call, so she's moved on. What I don't understand is they are a large company in Raytown, but they apparently prefer the larger, more lucrative jobs - and that's a shame. You should support your community.

The work crew was punctual. Delivery of roofing material was approximately 6:30 a.m. and the work crew arrived before 7:00 a.m. Everyone was busy by 7:00 a.m. The project manager phoned me shortly after the work crew arrived to advise me of his availability and to let me know that he would inspect the roof when the job was completed. The roofers worked until dark but completed the job in one day.They took a 1-hour lunch break, returned, and immediately resumed working. The cleanup job of the crew was pretty thorough but not perfect. If I had to grade them, I would give them a B-. On the next day, the project manager did come by to inspect the job. He spent about 1-hour on my roof doing what he called "wrap-up" work. He assured me that all work would be completed to my total satisfaction. I should add that the project manager said he was going to have someone come by to do minor adjustments to some roofing tiles. After about a week, I called him about this. To date, however, no one from Bordner has been to my home to perform any more roofing work. Of course, I plan to call them until this work is fully completed -- since that is what the company guarantees.

See above. I moved on to another contractor that was more customer service focused.

After introducing himself and apologizing for delay in getting to our house, he climbed to the roof. After looking it over, inspector advised we only had damage to 6 to 10 shingles and he would not do anything if it were his roof. We felt he was very honest in this approach and would definitely call Bordner again in the event of hail damage or in need of roof repair. Very satisfied with this company and would recommend to others.

My wooden chimney was rotten at the bottom and had a woodpecker hole in it. They were going to work on my house so they patched up the chimney until they could come out. Meanwhile, the boss of Bordner said they didn't want to replace any wood siding; they just don't do wood. So the deal was off, but meanwhile I don't have to worry about water leaking into my house because they fixed the chimney.

They put a new roof on. They have high quality work, they gave roof options. They are very busy so you will have to schedule. They came when they said they were going to come, i took as long as they said it would take. The people who work for them are courteous and polite. They clean up all of the nails. I had like 3 flat tires for other roofers. They were pricey.

It went pretty well. It didn’t take pretty long. They were in line with everybody else money-wise. I didn’t have any complaints; everything went as expected. The workers were completely professional. They worked quickly and efficiently.

I was well please with all the work performed.

They were good. It was a word-of-mouth referral. These shingles in our roof are going to last longer than we will. They were very expensive shingles. It's the 50-year kind. They were very good putting them on. They were very clean about cleaning up the yard afterwards. They were very efficient. It didn't take them all that long. It was worth it. They even helped us find a company to pay for a little portion of it. With the whole job, it was quite expensive. We appreciated that too. They were very helpful in a lot of ways. They're one of the best in this area. I actually let them take a picture of me with one of them on their promotional materials. I let them do that because I thought that they were that good.

Very prompt, work completed quickly and as promised. The end product looked really good, especially important because it is above our front door. The young man who did the work was excellent.

The roofers and carpentry team were timely and professional. We got a courtesy call the day after the job was completely done to make sure we were happy with the work and experience. We will definitely use them again.

For the following 6 weeks in the winter cold , there were at least two Bordner employees on the roof every day. They were professional and communicative and all drove Bordner trucks. We are small business owners and value employees over subcontractors. We know they are supervised, getting paid properly, and have benefits; and we are willing to pay more to have them. The work was completed satisfactorily. Shortly thereafter, there was a huge rain and water came into the house. Bordner was out there in the the rain and determined that it was the siding not the roof. I asked them to repair the siding and they did at a very reasonable price. A year after the roof fix, I looked out a window and noticed a broken tile. Bordner promptly replaced the tile at no charge. We recently had the house resided (not by Bordner), and several roof tiles were damaged in the installation. Once again Bordner appeared promptly and replaced the tiles at no charge --even though we told them that it shouldn't be considered warranty work. We are very impressed with their service ethic and we will be customers for life. Rule of thumb: while Bordner may not always be the low bid, you should pick them for their amazing customer service.

Super! The windows are lovely. They tilt in for easy cleaning and the word grain matches the wood beautifully. I couldn't have asked for better people to have worked with from the sales personnel to the installers. The windows look beautiful!

The representative was prompt. The most thorough of all four estimates I received. The only drawback to this was the length of time, 3 hours and 20 minutes. It would have gone longer had I not stopped it. He provided a PowerPoint presentation along with a sample of each piece of item that would go on the roof. Price wise it was the same as the other companies that took less than 45 minutes to give an estimate. Although the estimate/presentation was ENTIRELY too long he will give you a "piece of mind" if you select this company. As it turned out I did not need the roof replaced after a prior storm, so this was a complete waste of time. But if I need a new roof I would definitely consider them.

Our experience with Bordner, starting with the salesman Tom, has been very professional. Very straight forward with: our quote, the work to be done and what to expect during the process. Never any pressure to sign. Our stucco supervisor, Shaun Hanson went above and beyond our expectations with a "contractor". He was always available, answering any questions, any small concerns that came up and always responded with professionalism and respect. He even checked after payment to see if any needs came to our attention. The roofers took pictures so we could make informed decisions as questions came up. The painters took great care with the new stucco. We wouldn't hesitate to use Bordner again should the need arise.
