I appreciated Mr. Holland's time and honest opinion. He even came back at a later date and provided his opinion in writing. I will use Bordner again in future.

A month after the initial call, I called again and the 2 week promise was renewed. Three weeks later, I called back for the 3rd time and left the estimator a voice mail. He called back and assured me he would get right out and that he would include bids for several grades of shingles, as well as several bids for other types of materials. Several weeks later, we received one bid for the cheapest grade of Timberline shingles only and a hand-written note saying the guy who estimates the concrete-coated steel roofs was out of town and would send us a bid when he gets back. That was a month ago, and it still has not arrived. We gave the job to Westwood, who provided us with the bids we wanted and did so 4 days after we initially called them.

Once called it took less than a week for Chance to set up time for estimate. They were not the least expensive but I thought it was a fair price. Once I decided on Bordner it was once again less than a week before work started. Any questions or concerns I had as work progressed were answered promptly by sales consultant, Chance Pierce, or supervisor, Sam Falcon. I did not like vents that were to be installed so they offered another type vent that I found satisfactory for no extra cost. The crew was pleasant and professional. We have extensive landscaping surrounding our home and had minimal plant damage. The wood roof removal was more messy than anticipated but was cleaned up promptly. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

The first experience with the salesperson (Scott) led me to believe that I wanted to utilize this company. This was in addition to the Angie's List ratings and BBB standing. The job was scheduled and began on time. In addition to the Supervisor, Scott followed up and monitored the job progress. It became necessary for a repair to my living room ceiling. The technician (Doug) did a very good job making the repair and he made sure that my home and furnishings were protected while he worked. I received a telephone call to assure that I was satisfied with the repair. After the work was complete, a rooftop inspection was made of the work. The roof and gutters look great.

THE ROOF COMPLETION IS VERY SATISFACTORY. ONE OF THE VENTS WAS FINISHED BY A SUPERVISOR WHO HAD TAKEN A DIGITAL PHOTO TO THE METAL FABRICATOR SO HE HAD THE NECESSARY PARTS TO COMPLETE THE VENTING OF THE FURNACE. THE CLEAN UP WAS VERY ADEQUATE, ONLY MINIMAL PIECES OF MATERIALS WERE FOUND AFTER THE ROOFERS HAD LEFT. OVERALL I THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY ORGANIZED AND COMPETENT IN COMPLETING THE ROOFING JOB.

The initial contacts were terrible. We called for an estimate and it took months for us to be called back to schedule it. Someone called and said a salesperson would contact us the following week to set the appointment time. No one called. About 2 weeks later a salesman just showed up at the door with no appointment. This salesman sent us the written estimate and then would not return calls to set up the work! After a few more weeks, we got fed up and my husband contacted management as a last ditch effort to actually get the work set up. Once we were dealing with the manager, everything went smoothly and we were kept informed. The work done was exemplary and we are very happy with it.

There's no additional comments because they didn't do the work.

When we discovered the hail damage, we called several contractors but most were unresponsive due to the volume of work the storm created. The Bordner rep was at our house the next day and put us on the schedule even before we had picked out precisely which roofing we wanted. The rep installed a tarp to protect the leaking area immediately. Since our homeowners insurance was paying for the replacement roof, they had to provide documentation to the insurer which they did promptly and professionally. Their rep was very knowledgeable and recognized that a composition roof would require the addition of more vents in the soffits and roof. They are one of only a few roofing contractors qualified to install the premium roof we selected. They told us when they would show up and they were punctual. The old roof was torn off, a new plywood sub deck installed and new shingles applied, all with no mishaps or damage to other parts of our house.

I contacted the company in June 2006, and was told it would be three months before they could come out to give me a bid. This was one of four companies that I got bids from and the other three had completed their bids within the first month after I contacted them. The estimator called in September and we scheduled a time to review the work needed. He came out in advance and looked at my roof and when I got home he had the prepared bids ready for me. The information presented was very thorough and he explained everything to my satisfaction. This bid was the highest (by a lot) of the four bids I received. I was told it would be another 4 months before they could start on my roof. I really liked this company a lot, but was hesitant to use them because of the long wait period for them even to come out and look at my roof. I was afraid that if I had a problem(leak) at some point in the future they would not attend to it promptly.

They were very careful as they were tearing the old roof off to not damage anything. They did an excellent clean up job. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

I called for a complete re-roofing estimate. The person that took the call took down all my information and said she would write it up and pass it on to someone to contact me to set up an appointment. No one ever called to confirm an appointment date. Evidently they have enough work that they don't care about additional work.

Overall, I was pleased with the service, selection and style of windows. The salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable about the windows and options. The installation was easy, although they measured 2 windows incorrectly and had to wait another 3 weeks to get these installed. The workers were friendly. They quickly and cleanly removed the old windows and installed the new ones.

They were out promptly and did a good job. The job was under warranty so there was no charge.

I called for an appointment, but they were 3 months out. I felt I needed something sooner. The telephone person, was very nice, and tried to give me other ideas. I would definitely call them again.

They told me that it would be eight months before they could get to me for my repairs.

Jason Moody was prompt with return phone calls, was always concerned that we understood everything and did follow-up calls. The techs that came out were very helpful and answered all questions. Bordner may not be the cheapest, but I feel very confident about their quality and professionalism.

Once the work was started, the crew did an excellent job. The crew were hardworking and courteous. The scheduling process was not as good, however. I signed the contract with the indication that the work would happen in 3 weeks. I checked the status at the three week mark and was told that it would be four more weeks due to rain. After four more weeks, I called the sales rep., and he told me he did not know the schedule but would get back to me in a day. (I was disappointed that he did not just call the office to check the schedule and call me right back.) After three days, I still had not heard from him. I called the manager, and he committed that they would start the work on a firm date 10 weeks after I signed the contract, which they did. He shared with me that a lot of orders came in the same time as mine, which caused the delay. I wish my sales person would have kept me more informed.

The work took much longer than I thought it would. It was difficult to get in touch with someone who knew what was going on with our specific project. They seemed disorganized and the communication was very lacking. I felt like no one really oversaw the project or checked up on the work. I had to have someone come out to correct a mistake they made due to lack of communication. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

I asked for recommendations and quotes from several companies. Of course they all proposed replacing it, but Bordner was also willing to do a stop-gap fix for $300 that was acceptable to American Family and will get me by for a few more years. Everything about my experience with them was positive. Professional, responsive, reasonably priced.

The man who came out to give an estimate was hard to talk to, but I think he knew what he was talking about. After agreeing to the contract, the man said he'd come out in 3-5 weeks because they were so busy. After I said that I'd go with someone else, he called back a couple days later and said they could do it after all. He did the job in 2 1/2 hours and got the job done well. Everyone who went up there said the chimney needed re-flashing, but then tried to tell me I needed other things. This company just did the re-flashing and got the job done. I think he probably did a good job.

WE LOVE THE WINDOWS. WE ADVISE ANYONE TO CAREFULLY CHECK THE WORK BEFORE SIGNING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE COMPLETED WORK. IF YOU DO THIS I RECOMMEND THE COMPANY. THEIR FOLLOW UP IS SLOPPY, BUT THE WINDOWS THEY SELL ARE EXCELLENT.

Overall, we were pleased. They started off very responsive. And they worked quickly. They addressed concerns I pointed out in a very professional manner and worked to meet the quality level that we demanded. We had a few issues after the job was complete - a light that wouldn't work and a leak. They addressed these and fixed them although the responsiveness really fell off. Other than that, I'm still picking up nails in my yard from the tear-off. Maybe I'm being nit-picky, but to me, that's the kind of stuff that keeps the rating from rising to the A level.

THEY DID GOOD WORK AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETE. THE PROJECT HAD SUPERVISION, THERE WAS GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH THE HOMEOWNER (ME) AND THERE WAS A FOLLOW UP INSPECTION OF THE COMPLETED WORK. EXCEPT FOR THE GUTTERING, IT WAS DONE BY A SUBCONTRACTOR.

I HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE HAVING THEM RESPOND, ALTHOUGH WHEN THEY DID COME OUT THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. THEY CAME THE DAY THEY SAID THEY WOULD, HOWEVER DIDN'T BILL US FOR SEVERAL MONTHS----HAD TOLD US THEY WOULD PAINT A BOARD THEY HAD TO REPLACE ON THE EDGE OF THE HOUSE. THEY PRIMED IT IMMEDIATELY BUT THE FINAL COAT DIDN'T GET TAKEN CARE OF FOR A FEW MONTHS. THE ROOF DOES NOT LEAK AND THE SKYLIGHT IS WONDERFUL.

I BEGAN WITH CONSUMER REPORTS AND FOUND CERTAINTEED 50 AND THEN WENT TO THE CERTAINTEED SITE TO CHECK OUT CONTRACTORS. BORDNER AND OTHER KC COMPANIES ARE LISTED ACCORDING TO HOW MANY OF THEIR CREW HAVE BEEN THROUGH TRAINING. I HAD BORDNER AND ANOTHER WELL-QUALIFIED COMPANY COME OUT TO BID. BORDNER'S JASON MOODY WAS INCREDIBLE. HE CLIMBED ON THE ROOF, TOOK PHOTOGRAPHS OF AREAS THAT NEEDED SPECIAL ATTENTION, EXPLAINED WHY RIDGE VENTS COULD NOT WORK ON PART OF OUR ROOF (AND WHY NUMEROUS BOX VENTS AND SOFFITS WERE NEEDED), POINTED OUT CAULKING ISSUES WITH OUR GAS VENT PIPE AND NOTED THE SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR OUR SKYLIGHTS. HE CAME BACK WITH A DETAILED SCHEMATIC WITH BOX VENT PLACEMENTS AND SOFFIT PLACEMENTS. HIS BID WAS STILL LOWER THAN THE COMPANY WHO DID NOT INCLUDE ANY SOFFITS AND WHO PLANNED ON INSTALLING RIDGE VENTS (THAT REP DID NOT GET ON THE ROOF). WE CHOSE THE TIMBERLINE ULTRA 50. BORDNER'S PRE-VISIT BROCHURE WAS HELPFUL, TOO.
