I have gotten four estimates. The interaction was good. He was very professional and he spent a lot of time measuring and answering questions. He was prepared and had handouts to show me. He did a whole presentation, which was helpful. He came out the day after I called. I am still considering using him.

I'm the kind of customer that I go ahead and do all my routine maintenance. I keep my things up. They have always been honest with me. I never felt like they were trying to say my furnace was broken if it wasn't, and when I did have to have a new furnace and a new air conditioner, they were very easy to work with. They could install it when I wanted them to. They were efficient. They pretty well have the same service guys. Over the years I may have dealt with three different service guys, but most every time I know who's going to be here when they ring the doorbell. The prices are probably just as reasonable; I don't shop around with price. The only time I did was when I needed a new air conditioner. Before I made the determination to go with them, I did check websites to see what the normal price would be. I wanted a certain brand, I was thinking about a Lennox, and they said it was more expensive and recommended another air conditioner. We ended up going with the one they recommended and not the Lennox. The only thing I would say that I was a little disappointed is when I thought I wanted a Lennox air conditioner, they do not keep them in stock; therefore, I would have had to have waited quite a few days to get that Lennox, and it was a hot time in the summer and I wanted my air conditioner. I would like to see them keep more Lennox air conditioners in stock. I will definitely continue with them. I've always been impressed with them. I appreciate it them explaining things to me. When I did end up having to replace my furnace, they showed me, even though it was not easily visible, and told me they wouldn't be recommending replacement if it weren't dangerous. I've always felt like they were very honest with me.

Chris provided me with a written estimate for a range of different options of combinations of condensers and coils. This was a real service because most of the other contractors who gave me estimates (a) did not give written estimates and (b) gave me only one estimate for one combination, and even then did not tell me that other combinations were possible. I found out from Chris that there was more than one version of the American Standard 13 SEER A/C (there is builder's grade, different tonnage, etc.). Based on this new information (which no one else bothered to give me), I was able to make a much more knowledgeable search and then purchase. I ended up getting a 10 SEER unit (to match my existing coil), and Boan did not have any of these, so I did not go with them. It was also convenient that Chris was willing to communicate by e-mail, most of he others would not even give an e-mail address.

Overall, I was very pleased with the service I received from Boan Heating and Cooling. I was forced to replace a five-year old Furnace, so I went ahead and purchased a complete unit (i.e. furnace and A/C, humidifier). The prior furnace and A/C was purchased from Precision Heating & Cooling who I would never recommend to anyone.
