Window World

They contacted me promptly and an estimator showed up when he said he would. He didn't try to upsell me, just clearly explained the windows, the installation process, and their warranty. It's a 90+ year old home and the windows in the basement were original. He spent A LOT of time measuring the windows. Even did them multiple times to confirm. I was expecting it to be a lot more money and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it all was. He told me it would be 4 weeks for my windows to come in since they were all custom and different sizes. And it was 4 weeks on the dot when I got the call to schedule install. The installers also showed up on time. They covered the floors and took every precaution to protect the areas of my house they had to walk through to get to the basement. They did the job quickly and thoroughly and did a final check with me after they were done to make sure it all looked ok. They even filled in some insulation around the windows to help keep the draft out. They also showed me a few stone areas around the outside that I would probably want to address within the next year. Didn't try to sell me anything, just wanted to point it out to me. Overall, I am extremely happy with the work that was done and the service I received. I would recommend them any time someone needs windows or doors.

Two of the windows came in 5" too tall.....waited 4 weeks for the replacements....these two windows came in 1/2" too short. Door was not painted, so had to wait 6 weeks to have this done. Top tramsome windows were not installed correctly the first time, so had to reset these. Door came with wrong glass in it, so they had to replce the glass on site. Worked with a manager based St. Louis even though we were in KC area. He was on top of things and got everything straightened out. He was professional and really wanted to make this job work. It turned out fine in the long run, but it took 8+ weeks to get this job done.

They didn't sell me anything that I didn't need, until they looked into my issue. The staff is very customer focused. Quality service.

The salesman was very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. The salesman gets an A for his part. The windows came in a reasonable amount of time and the windows themselves are also good and get an A too. However, the installers came about 8 hours late, starting at dusk, so that it was very dark by the time they finished. I watched the installation and it was not well done; I had to remind them to take out the wet, rotten, parts. They left a mess on the driveway where they had spilled foam and pieces of glass. I had been told the installers work for the company, but I was not told that these installers were on contract from several hundred miles away. When I got to see the windows in the morning, I found that they had run out of caulk and used a different color caulk on parts of the last window. I can recommend the windows but I would make sure to get a local crew to install them - and stay with them.

Took several days for them to contact me and ask about appointment times I was available. They apparently lost interest and after waiting an additional week to make an appointment with them, I gave us and signed a contract with a different company. No prompt response - so response whatsoever.

It went very well each time.

Those guys were great. We are going to go with them in the future. Only took 30 mins for them to explain their work.

They did good work and the salesman who came out was nice and knowledgeable. They were efficient and finished the job in a timely fashion.

Contracted to have 10+ windows replaced. The salesman (Dion) was knowledge, responsive and did not have a high pressure sales pitch. Will update this review after windows are installed.

They did an excellent job, good price, very experienced, polite and I have no complaints.

It was fine. They came and the windows are in and they looked good. One of the things that got us to go with them was the salesperson was not trying to sell us on a bunch of other stuff other than what we were asking for. They actually came in a week or two earlier than we expected. I think they were here on time.

I had some wood rot under some support and they didn't normally address that kind of stuff and they would stick with just replacing windows. I didn't find anything wrong them, I've just chosen not to do that because they wouldn't go beyond what I needed. I thought their pricing was good. I thought they were courteous and competitive and everything else.

It was a fine experience. They were responsive but their prices were noncompetitive.

I contacted Window World initially in May to get a quote on replacing 6 casement windows in 2 rooms on a 2nd floor in my house. The initial quote came from Craig who was very informational and walked me through all my options. After recommendations from friends and Angie's List I decided to order the 6 windows from Window World. The pricing options are very transparent and you know how much all the options will be when ordering the windows. After completing the ordering process I was informed it will take 4-6 weeks to receive the windows. After 4 weeks I received a call that the windows were ready for install. I decided to delay the install for a week, but it was no problem scheduling a time that was convenient for me. I felt I completely understand the install procedures and comfortable with my purchase. The install was setup for July 16th between 7am-11am. Install day came and I prepared the rooms early in the morning expecting the installer between that time. I waited until 11am and called Window World to see why the installer had not arrived. I was told they will check with the installer and give me a call back in a few minutes. After waiting an hour I decided to call back and asked again why the installer has not arrived. They put me on hold and tried contacting the installer. Still no luck and my frustrations were growing. I finally received a call from the installer at 12:14PM that he was on his way. When the installer arrived I questioned him why the delay. He informed me that Window World scheduled an earlier install at the same time my install was scheduled. The first call for him was in a town about 30-45 minutes away. My issue with the punctuality falls on the scheduling through Window World and not the installer. I wished they informed me of the scheduling issues and alerted me about the time. If they would have informed me I would had been more at ease. Luckily I took the entire day off from work so time was not an issues, but it would have been nice if they contacted me about the time conflict. Tony who was the installer was great and I highly recommend him. He walked us through the installation and didn't mind me watching him through the process. The whole process took about 3.5 hours and all the old windows and trash went with him. He made sure the area near the windows and outside were cleaned up. He did a great job on the exterior trim and made sure everything was carefully caulked and sealed. He made sure I was happy and appreciate his work. Overall, the experience was positive besides the scheduling issue. The windows look great and everything Craig prepared me for during the estimate phase happened exactly as promised. Tony did a great job with install. The only advice is to make sure that you communicate with Window World your install time and check with them the day before to see how many installs they expect. That could have saved me about 4 hours of wait time. I will recommend them to others and will have them install more windows on the house as needed.

They are a good company and I've used them for windows too. We had a few minor time issues but we got it all worked out. One of the doors came and during installation it fell and broke so they had to reorder another door. The wrong door came in so they had to reorder it again. There were some timing issues but it was understandable. I've used them before and recommended them before.

The whole experience was excellent, from bidding to installation. We have over 35 windows in our home, and the crew was finished in one day, even with poor weather. I noticed a difference in the heat level, especially in the basement, right away. Not the cheapest, but definitely worth every penny. Increased the value of our home, made it look much nicer without unsightly aluminum screens, and will decrease our utility bills for sure, now that we can't feel a draft every where we go in our home!

It went excellent. They were able to work within my time frame. The installer was very good and very efficient. Nobody can bet them price wise. The quality has been excellent. Those windows have been in for 10 years and I have never had a problem with them. I would use this provider again.

I wasn't super impressed. The sales guy I thought was great and he sold me on it basically but what I wasn't crazy about was that they told me it would be anywhere from three to six weeks or something so about week five and a half I called and say "oh yeah, they've been in" but I never received a call that they were in and then when it came time to schedule, I tried to schedule something and they say " well, we don't take any estimated appointments" so I said okay. I scheduled in the morning and I took the morning off work and stayed at home and waited and waited. I actually called the night before saying "there's a forecast for a lot of rain tomorrow, are you sure you guys wanna do this?" they said "oh yeah" so I took the day off and sat around. Then they called and cancelled about half an hour before they were supposed to be there. I called to reschedule for another morning and they said all they had are afternoons and I said, "what? I was told before you don't even do afternoons and now all of a sudden you have afternoons." I really felt like they've done a bad runaround from the office mainly. But then when they guys came to install, my frustration with that was it was a crew that had never put in this kind of door before. They were there for a long time and then their supervisor showed up. It was a Mexican crew that I kind of had a hard time sort of communicating with. Their supervisor showed up and I kind of walked upstairs and the first thing I heard him say was "well, you got to turn that around, that part goes on the inside and not the outside." It was not a great experience. They were there a long time. The supervisor was there for about 10 minutes and the worker took another hour or something. The baseboard wasn't nailed together and the door could barely shut. He called his partner to come up and nail it together but they didn't take the stickers off the window. It was just not good. I thought the price was probably fairly reasonable but I didn't like the service and the installation was... They told me it was a better door but geez, teach them how to put it in before you send them out to my place to learn. I really got the runaround with that actually. One other thing I felt was really frustrating was one of the guys on the crew were there for doing windows but he had a t-shirt on for some other business he works in. While I'm trying to talk to him about windows, he is trying to tell me I need new gutters and he can do it. He is pushing his other job on the side to try to get me to come back and redo my gutters.

Excellent, the crew arrived as scheduled, they were very professional, cleaned up as they worked. After they left, it was like they were never here, except we had all new windows in the house. I told one of our friends about our experience and they also called them and had all of their windows replaced. Another satisfied customer.

They were always good and I’ve used them twice. They were in and out, and were quick.

My experience with them went fine. It wasn’t the best price for that product. They were okay. Their quote amount was $6000. It was a downgrade from the window I wanted. I wasn’t dissatisfied with them. They were very nice and I appreciated that. They responded quickly.

The original team that installed the windows were punctual and friendly. They worked all day in the cold in the middle of January and got the job done. It rained that night and washed some of the caulking away. I called and the next business day they were back out re-caulking the windows. Here's where it gets bad for a minute. Last week I noticed water on the floor of my kitchen near one of the new windows. I wanted to think that surely my new window wasn't leaking. When I got up on the side of the house I noticed that they did not caulk the ENTIRE top portion of the window. I'm not sure if they did not think that I would see it or if they were just being lazy. Either way, I was upset. Since I already had my caulking gun in hand, I went ahead and caulked it. Well when I pushed against the trim surrounding the window, I knew something was wrong. I looked across to the adjacent window that they did and sure enough that wasn't caulked along the top edge. I called the local office and spoke with the receptionist. They told me that it would take 2 weeks to come out and fix it. Since there was three days of rain in the forecast, I asked her what was I supposed to do about my window that was leaking? She told me that it would be fine and hung up on me. I called Windows World corporate and filed a complaint with them. They said that since they are franchise owned, they would need to contact the owner of the franchise and he would contact me. Within an hour I had the operations manager for Window World Kansas City on the phone. He was overly apologetic and helpful. He said that his best crew was available to get me in first thing the next morning. The next morning came and it was raining so we rescheduled (not their fault). Today when the new crew showed up they got right to work. He pulled off the vinyl wrap and saw that there was a crack in my window frame. He told me that the original crew should have seen that and never installed the window. He also saw the horrible job they did with caulking. He was on the phone immediately ordering me a new frame. They put a "rush" on it, and said that it should be here in 10 days. The new installer, Eric, gave me his card with his personal cell number on it and told me to call if there were ANY problems. After the initial job done by the first team and the way I was treated by the receptionist, I was close to giving them all F's. But, after today I give them an A. They were very responsive, after making calls higher up the food chain, and helpful. As long as you request to have Jay Cleem as your salesman and your installer is Eric Hamilton, you should have zero problems and a pleasant experience. UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took 3 weeks to get the new frame. Took another three weeks to get the installer to come back out. Twice he "forgot" about the appointment until I called him and asked where he was. Once he finally showed up he didn't bring all the materials needed to fix the broken window frame and the other two windows. He told me that it wasn't the plan to fix the other two windows, even thou he was right there when the manager said all three windows would be fixed. Two weeks later he came back and finished the job, sort of. I had to put more caulk in several places. I just paid off the windows and will NEVER use Window World again. Great product, horrible service. Buyer beware.

Amazing. Bills are lower, no draft (didn't really notice I had one until it was gone!) and the ability to open both halves of the window so easily is amazing for natural ventilation.
