Description of Work: They trimmed all my bushes, trimmed and shaped 3 ornamental trees, and trimmed and raised my flowering crab apple tree. All the flower beds and the yard were cleaned of debris once the trimming was done. The crew was very knowledgeable and did a great job. I will definitely use Uncle Stumpys in the future.

Description of Work: I had five large trees and one small tree that needed to be thinned and trimmed. It was a LOT of work. The trees were trimmed and thinned exactly as discussed and all the mess, including leaves that i hadn't had picked up prior to their arrival, were cleaned up. The yard looked great. The trees look so much better and are not overhanging the roof any longer. I was very satisfied.

Owner, did the estimate and was on site for the job as well - they were prompt - did a fabulous job and we could not have been happier - They cut down brush and 30 year old stumps growing into my fence. We have been attempting to cut it down every year and no matter what we did couldn't get it out - they did it in one day and then they trimmed out trees that were bad and you would never have known they were there. I still go out and look at it and it is marvelous. Again, Wonderful job!!!!!!!

Description of Work: Received bids from four providers, including Stumpy who was referred to us word-of-mouth from relatives across town. Stumpy's bid was by far the lowest--one half as much as the highest, to remove two infected pine trees and a couple of piles of resident-produced tree trimmings. |A month or two later, we obtained bids for major tree and limb removal and gross removal of limbs below 10' or so, as well as dead limbs within the reach of their extended aerial saws, as well as carrying off more large piles of owner-produced tree debris. |Uncle Stumpy, himself, exercised precise supervision over every aspect of his efficient crew's activities. We were totally pleased with the work, clean-up, and particularly THE PRICE!

Description of Work: Mike Mitchell is the owner of the company and he returned my call within 2 days of my first call requesting an estimate. I have a 50 year old silver maple tree in my backyard with some very shallow roots that were sticking up above ground level about 3 to 4 inches in some areas, and as far as 20 feet from the trunk of the tree. My grandchildren were constantly tripping on them and they would destroy my lawnmower blade every year. I received estimates in the $1600 to $1800 range to bring topsoil in and spread it over the roots to cover them ....this was way more than I wanted to spend. I told Mike that I wanted him to grind the high places to just ground level so I could re-seed and solve the problem. He expressed concern that this could damage the tree, but when he got here and saw the size of the tree, he was more optimistic that this relatively minor grinding would not harm it. He was here this morning at 9:15 as promised and gave me a bid of $100.00. He did the work on the spot and did a great job cleaning up. I now have a smooth backyard and am ready for seeding. Mike with Stumpy's is the one to call if you need any grinding done. I am very pleased.

Description of Work: Called to get an estimate to remove and haul away a dead tree in the back yard. Uncle Stumpy's came and gave me and estimate on Saturday; I accepted the estimate and he schedule the work for the following Tuesday. On Sunday, Stumpy's called and said he had a cancellation of the ensuing Monday and could do my job. I told him to proceed. He said he would be over at 10 a.m. On Monday his crew arrived - at 10 a.m.!! In less than two hours he completed the job - including removing pieces of the dead tree that had broken off and were hung up in the limbs of an adjacent tree. The crew climbed the tree, cut and lowered pieces, loaded on a trailer, and cleaned up completely. Very prompt, very professional, and very fair. I had gotten an earlier bid from another firm (not Angie's List) for $1800+.
