+ -1 moreHandyman Barrett does excellent work. He is very conscientious and professional, and as an added bonus, cleans up the site when finished. The work started when scheduled and finished on time. We could not be happier with the result. I will not hesitate to use him again. One of his many strengths is that he will not accept a project unless he is confident of his ability to do it well. If it is outside his comfort area he will suggest you get someone who specializes in that field.
Description of Work: The amount listed above was for labor. We supplied material and parts. Project included removal of old bathroom floor, toilet and vanity. Phillip installed a new ceramic tile floor, vanity, toilet, and wallbase, plus another toilet in a different bath and a new kitchen faucet.

+ -1 moreHe showed up 10 min. early, which was great & took approx 4 hrs for everything, including a trip to the hardware store for supplies.
Description of Work: I had several jobs done in one day. I had a new toilet put in, new sink faucets put in for a double sinks, the sink had to have new lines installed because both sinks were plumbed together & were in a frightful state! I had my kitchen sink fixed. It needed a new defuser put in. I also had a pipe line section replaced going out to an outside faucet that had been leaking & was quite corroded. He was very knowledgable & professional! I thought for all the work he did, that the price was very fair!

+ -1 moreHe's really patient and he knows what he's doing. He also installed faucet with my mom's and did outside faucet work, plumbing work and just seemed really good plumber. He does the work and leaves, not all that standout. He gave my mom a discount because he was doing two. He talks a lot.
Description of Work: I used Handyman Barrett for several times, for my house and my mom's. We last used him to install the faucet and we went through other items and had him come back to do.

+ 0 moreThis house was built in the 1840's and former owners had started to add this bathroom in a small upstairs room. We purchased the fixtures in 1957 and the bath tub required extra carpentry work to cover the pipes since the bathroom walls were brick. Mr. Barrett checked the water pipes to make certain there were no problems since the plumbing was 55 years old, and he returned the carpentry work that he had to remove to get access to the water pipes. He did all of the necessary work without wasted time and effort, and I appreciated his professionalism and desire to complete the work to my satisfaction. He has my highest recommendation and I will certainly contact him for any future handyman work I need.
Description of Work: I am 81 years old and can't remember exactly when he was here or how much he charged. However, I can recommend him highly because he did excellent work and I recall the price was very reasonable and less than I had expected. . Day 1 a. He replaced the inner workings of the toilet b. He had the necessary new parts in his truck so there was no delay with the repair While he was here, I asked him about checking the shower head which my husband had tried (unsuccessfully) to fix. He determined what was needed and scheduled a time to return the following day Day 2 a. He arrived on schedule with the necessary materials b. He replaced the shower head At my request: c. He removed the carpentry work that covered the bath tub pipes d. He checked the pipes for any water leakage due to their age e. He replaced the carpentry work

He returned the following day with completed, stained trim and installed it. The trim was for 3-windows. He weather stripped the exterior doors. I would certainly consider him for any additional requirements.

Since that work was so minor I decided to replace a bathroom faucet that had given trouble. I called around for quotes, and Barrett quoted a flat rate to replace the faucet, with no extra charge to change the bulbs and batteries. He was on time and very friendly. I will call again.

+ 0 morePhillip is very good at communication. Always making sure he knows exactly what you want. He had to move our whole landing in our front door area do accomodate ceramic tile. He did a very good job with that. He made suggestions that we hadn't thought of for our bathroom remodel and we LOVE how it turned out. His estimate is exactly what he billed - no surprises. The only thing that isn't estimatable is the parts he needs to complete the job but we feel it was reasonable.
Description of Work: Phillip is very conscientious, professional, has good ideas, is meticulous in his work. Clean-up was not perfect but I am picky. I would recommend him for any remodel job, except painting.

I had others come and give me a bid but one company's price was unreasonable ( I believe the job was too small for them) and the other company was cheaper but they seemed very busy and it was important to me that I have someone come when I was scheduled to be off work. Phillip was able to schedule me in on the days I requested. He was on time and I was very happy with the work that he did. He got the work done in two half days (delayed because of rain). I thought he was a bit high but he was willing to take on a small, one day job and he did a good job.

We discussed my original plan to use chain link, but he proposed some alternatives and gave me the pros and cons and we decided on a dog-ear wooden fence. This didn't require any digging or setting of posts in concrete. He priced the materials and gave me an estimate the next morning. We set appointment for today (Monday), weather permitting, and he completed the job efficiently. He did a great job and it looks really nice and works perfectly. I'm very happy with everything about this.
Description of Work: Installled a wooden fence and gate to close off the back yard so my dog could go out without being on a chain. The space was approx 10ft between the back corner of my house and the front corner of my garage. He installed the few feet off fence on either side of the gate and installed a 5 foot gate and latch.
