Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Plumber was very courteous and professional. He did not have the part on his truck and had to leave to get it. I was appropriately not charged extra for the time. He did a very good job with the replacement. Overall, very satisfied.

They came same day and fixed our problem. May find the same service cheaper, but not with same day service!

I called around 9:30am about the problem. They sent me an email stating someone would be here between 10:00am and 12:00pm and that they would call 30 minutes before showing up. At 3:00pm, no one called or showed up. I called the office and was put on hold for at least 20 minutes, listening to their horrible on hold jingle. Finally, someone came on and transferred me to Dispatch, which meant being on hold again. They told me they were completely booked up for the day and would have to reschedule me. We have no water in our house, so obviously we could not wait for a future appointment. Needless to say, I canceled and started the process of finding another plumber. They would have done me a great service by informing me from the beginning that they couldn't possibly get here today. I might have had someone else here, fixing the problem by now. Bad service all the way around. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

Terribly. Plumbers were "no shows" on two occasions. One block of time during the morning and one at night. Would not recommend their services to working adults.

Service was provided quickly and effectively. Don’t know if price was good or not as we needed it done and they could do it the soonest. 400 to take off the toilet and run the line.

The best part of this whole process was the responsiveness and the quality of work provided by this company. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I placed a request for work online at 11 pm on a Saturday night and had a plumber at my door the very next morning. Greg was courteous, knowledgeable, responsive to questions, and thorough in his work. Will definitely hire again.

They un-clogged the drain pipe & never had a problem since then. They fixed the problem, so i have no complaints.

They promptly responded when I contacted them. Their representative came over at the time promised, took time to understand the problem and gave an oral estimate followed by a written one. We worked out convenient time and the work was done professionally as promised. The cost was a bit high but I do not mind paying more for quality work.

It turned out that the line was clear but that the toilet needed replacement

We had tried to do the faucet installation ourselves but could not remove the old faucet. Dominic was very thorough. After installing the master valve he tested that it was working properly. He tested the new kitchen faucet and adjusted the pull out hose for the faucet so it did not catch on a shut off valve under the sink.

Insurance covered that. I don't know what the price was. The guy that was with them worked with the insurance company. It was all taken care of and they did a nice job.

I think they were very expensive. They did a great job. It started getting really pricey. We want somebody that we can stay with. Other than price, it was fine. I haven't seen it myself, but the tenant says they did a good job.

Wonderful. The technician communicated everything that he was doing and did a great job.

They were on site quick, fixed the problem and kept me informed all in a professional manor. They did no try to up sell me, add anything on or find additional problems. They completely cleared the sewer line and brought in a camera to insure there was not a larger issue.

Called to repair a small crack in the lateral sewer line (outdoor) that created a large sink hole in the yard. A scope and video of the lateral line is necessary for the bidding process and to ensure a reimbursement from a local municipality. Each plumber typically reviews the video before a site visit to see the damage and review information like depth, distance, location to the sewer district line, etc. Called Roto Rooter to get pricing for the scoping / video and they would not give a price upfront, unlike EVERY other LOCAL plumber I worked with. Should have ended communication right there. Ended up hiring another company to video the line for $170, which they provided for me to send to every other bidding plumber. When I called Roto Rooter for the bid, they didn't want to see the video and didn't ask for any diagramming or other pertinent information up front. When the technician showed up, he immediately began asking questions every other plumber was able to assess independently as part of the bidding process: How deep is the sink hole? How deep is the line? I pointed out to him that the line had already been scoped and recorded and the video could likely address those questions. He said he didn't have access to the video and would have to charge me another $200+ to video the line himself. Then he asked for a diagram, which no other plumber has requested and insisted he'd need that. At that point, I asked to end the encounter said I wouldn't need Roto Rooter. He then insisted on calling his manager to, I guess, try to salvage the situation. When the manager wasn't available - after 15 minutes of waiting - he called MY local municipality without my permission, got a city clerk that I know on the line and passed his phone to me to try to prove that I was somehow mistaken about this process. It was beyond unprofessional and insulting. I'm sure the plumber knows more than me about the job and about the process, but there are plenty of HIGHLY rated and recommended LOCAL plumbers here in St. Louis with just as much experience, knowledge and know-how that don't make the process so time consuming, frustrating and insulting.
