Description of Work: This review is being submitted on October 15th. The work was performed two months ago. | |The team showed up on time back in August, and did most of the job. I checked on their progress and noticed that an important piece of material had not been used. Part of the sales pitch was a device that channels water from the cold joint into the floor drain they were installing. It had not been installed. | |The workers took up all the concrete they had already poured then left to get this material. Later, they replaced the same concrete into the trench, which has since shown hair-line cracking, and this week (after the first big rain) leaked at the cold joint. | |They were very responsive when I called this week. A technician came back today and sealed the joint. I have yet to receive any written instructions on how to check the new sump pumps though the technician did confirm that they are operable yesterday and has promised to bring me the owners manual or some sort of written instructions. | |The workers left my family room a disaster area, when they finished the original job in August. I had to ask the general manger to send them back to clean up the job sight. My furniture, television and every surface was coated with dust. They did a fair job of clean up when they returned but we still had to scrub. | |Still not sure if it's safe to replace the carpet. I suppose we'll know after the next big rain.

Description of Work: Made an appointment with them for an estimate of what it would cost to correct the bowing and drop in our foundation walls. Their price was high however close to several of the other companies and may end up using them. We are still receiving other bids.

In addition, there was only a minor impact on our landscape. The two other companies who bid the project indicated most of our landscaping close to the house would have to be removed and replaced.
Description of Work: Pier Magic hand dug 13 holes and placed 13 piers in the ground in order to stabilize our home.

+ 1 moreMatt and his crew were exceptional. The entire time the job site never got out of control due to the extensive amount of work they were doing. Every night before leaving the crew cleaned up the area as best as you can expect when doing this type of work. Great Job!!!!
Description of Work: The back wall of our house had started tilting inwards so Matt and the crew came out and dug by hand the entire length and depth of the wall and secured the wall to yard anchors. During the process they put in new drain pipe and tied it into a new sump pump. Once they finished waterproofing the back wall they filled with 60% gravel and then topped the trench off with dirt. In addition to doing all that they ran our downspouts and sump pump out away from the house. After the back was completed they installed three piers on the front side of the garage. To not disturb the front steps they created holes in the garage and did the installation from the garage.

+ 0 moreI was happy with the work. First, the estimate was done fairly simply and practical advice given regarding foundation work. I liked their approach better than another more high tech approach done by another company. When I called the estimator/owner/salesperson again, he came back too look at another area. He arrived on time. He did not have a high pressure sales approach at all. I called the office to schedule the work and was given a date. They arrived on the date I set and started work. It was a large team of 6 to 8 people, and they finished my work in just 2 and a half days. They were a happy crew and worked hard and fast. To get the dirt out of the holes they dug in the basement they opened a window well and passed buckets through the opening so I didn't have mud throughout the house. The landscaping did suffer a bit but they dug up and replanted several bushes and afterwards it looked fine. I just had to re-mulch the area. They patched all my cracks inside and out with mortar and did touch-up work where I asked them to do so. I would do business with them again but I hope I won't have the need again!!

+ 1 moreMatt consulted with me on a foundation for my backyard gazebo and although it wasn't the usual scale of projects done by his company he took the job and went above and beyond to help me get concrete piers placed, poured and level for the job. In addition I mentioned to Matt that I wanted to get water and electric down to the gazebo, a good 120 feet and I would need a trench dug, his crew hand dug the 3ft deep trench in a day, it was amazing in the 100 degree weather! Jose, the foreman was great! After I got the electrician and the plumber to do their thing, Jose and the crew promptly returned to back-fill the trench. I would recommend Pier Magic to anyone wanting a professional, fairly priced job that is done right. Matt treated my project like it was in his backyard, he was so generous with his knowledge, crew and time.

+ -1 moreI am leery of foundation 'salesmen', but Matt was the exception. He is bright, speaks well, and did not try to sell me anything. He was honest and told me that I could fix the wall myself, and he told me how and with what materials! I spoke with him for quite a while and think he is an exceptional man. Though I did not have work done, it will not surprise me to hear that Pier Magic is a successful company for a long time. He is also going to give me a quote on a retaining wall, since he does that kind of work also. He gave me many referrals that were emailed upon my request within an hour. They are glowing.
Description of Work: Asked to have a basement wall looked at that has cracks in it. Matt called and set up an appointment within a few days.
