About us

Larry Vaught started our company in 1967. His sons started working here when they were 14 years old, worked their way through college, and now run this family owned business. Our company typically employs between 20 and 30 full time roofers. Through various training programs and weekly meetings, our employees are kept up to date on all aspects of proper installation methods. We do it all by the book! A discount coupon for Angies List customers is provided in our display ad. No down payment is required. Invoices are mailed after jobs have been completed and payment is due in 30 days unless other terms are negotiated. We always carry proper general liability and workmans compensation insurance, have occupational licenses for all greater Kansas City municipalities, and maintain all applicable contractor licenses.

Description of Work: Had to have a complete re-roof. I was very happy with the LACK of pressure to sign contracts until we absolutely knew we were ready to go. Other companies wanted me to sign a contract the very day they came to give me an estimate. Chris was very informative and laid back when giving us estimates, and he even volunteered to get on the roof to patch some leaks until the re-roof was done (at no cost whatsoever). The work was great and fast.....thorough clean up. Worked with Mike Vaught for paying the bill. He was kind, easy-to-work-with, and laid back about the money. Highly recommend!

Description of Work: They replaced our roof after a hail storm. The job went exceptionally smooth, expediently, professionally and without incident. They were the only company that did the job and then billed. All others that were interviewed wanted a good portion of the money as soon as materials were delivered with the remainder paid once the job was completed. When they completed the roof replacement they performed a fantastic clean up. They are the only company we will use if needed again.

Thanks for the great review. It was very interesting to hear that all of the other companies that bid your project required a large portion of the proceeds in advance of performing the project. As a homeowner that would concern me greatly. If a contractor requires a large portion of the proceeds be paid in advance I would conclude two things: 1) they don't have enough working capital to fund their operations and 2) they are putting you in a precarious position because they could easily take those funds and never do any work / rip you off! I had no idea so many companies put their customers in that position. We don't do that and would strongly advise homeowners not to pay in advance. Regardless, I much appreciate the detailed review you provided of our services and thank you for having trusted us with your project.

I was very pleased with the person who estimated the work, and the office staff was pleasant to deal with. The actual work was done while I was gone, so I never met them, but they cleaned up after themselves and left no trail behind.

WORK IS DONE BY POLITE, PROFESSIONALS WHO SHOW UP WHEN THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO. IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH THIS COMPANY OVER THE YEARS AND I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THEM WHEN PEOPLE ASK.
Description of Work: SINCE MOVING INTO OUR CURRENT HOME 4 1/2 YEARS AGO, WHICH HAS A 16 YEAR OLD SHAKE SHINGLE ROOF, WE HAVE BEEN PATCHING AND REPAIRING. LARRY VAUGHT ROOFING HAS DONE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE ROOF AS WELL AS REPAIRS AROUND OUR 4 SKYLIGHTS, CHIMNEY AND VENT PIPES. THEY ALSO PROVIDED THE ROOFING FOR A SCREENED PORCH WE ADDED A COUPLE YEARS AGO. MOST RECENTLY I CALLED BECAUSE OF A LEAK IN THE KITCHEN AND TO SEE IF WE COULD GET 1-2 MORE YEARS OUT OF THE ROOF. UPON INSPECTING IT WAS FELT THAT LEAK WAS SOMETHING THEY MAY HAVE MISSED LAST YEAR AND REPAIRED THE AREA AT NO CHARGE. WE ALSO FOUND OUT THAT BECAUSE OF THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE WE COULD PROBABLY GET A COUPLE MORE YEARS OUT OF THE ROOF. WHEN IT IS TIME TO REPLACE IT, WE WILL CALL LARRY VAUGHT ROOFING TO DO THE JOB.

VAUGHT WAS LOW BID. THE TEAM SHOWED UP AT 7AM, WORKED W/OUT STOPPING TILL LUNCH. TOOK ONE HOUR OR LESS FOR LUNCH. WORKED TILL 4 OR 4:30. OUR ROOF WAS DONE IN 2 DAYS. CLEAN UP WAS EXCELLENT. FOREMEN WERE EXCELLENT. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE A LARGE ROOF WITH MANY CORNERS.
