The Cleaning Authority - Gladstone

The Gladstone office of The Cleaning Authority owned by Jay and Tami Stone were quick to respond to my request for a quote for their house cleaning services. The initial two cleans are quite expensive in my opinion at $165.00 a piece. After the first two cleans the price does drop slightly. They came out on April 11th to do the first clean and actually did a fabulous job, but it all went downhill after that. While vacuuming my family room their industrial vacuum caught a piece of my carpet and made a nice size run in it. They did report this to my son and told him to tell me to call their office which I did a few days later on April 16th. I went out of town and did not hear back from them. On April 22nd I called agiain and Jay claimed not to have gotten my message. He gave me the name of his carpet repairman who came out and did a beautiful repair job on the carpet on April 24th. My second clean was scheduled for today April 25th. I was excited, because they had done a good job. So I did what I was supposed to do and left a check on the kitchen counter. When I get home my check is still there and my house was not cleaned. When I called Jay he said that he had sent me an email notifying me that they were not going to continue with the service. I have three email accounts and did not receive an email from him at any of the addresses. My contract was made via the phone and I would have expected the same courtesy. My guess is because my house is on the market. And they screwed up my carpet the first time here that they decided they were not going to make any money off of me so they were not going to continue to clean my house. I find the way that the situation was handled was very unprofessional and I will be telling everyone who I had previously recommended them to not to sue this company.

We have had The Cleaning Authority cleaning for approx. 6 cleanings. They have done a great job! They are not perfect but I have never had a housekeeper that was. I like the fact that they are reasonably priced and were able to personalize a cleaning plan that fit our needs. We do not have kids or pets so I can't comment as to their ability to clean with challenges, but for what we need, they are a perfect fit.

Had them for a couple of months. Ok if you just want a spit shine on a already clean house. Also, the first month, a glass picture frame was broken, left with a note that they would replace it, but that was the end of it. Cleaning was hit & miss, wih many areas not dusted that I would have expected, and I still had to clean around the base of the toilet used by the toddlers following the cleaning visits. Spots on the floor along the perimiter of the room stayed there, although they "swiffered" in the middle. Coffee table on the area rug was never moved when they vacuumed. Seveal times when my sister stayed home, she came out of her room to find them on their cell phone as they went through the motions of cleaning. The last visit, they determined my house was "too cluttered" to clean, as there was some dry dog food on the floor (nudged out by an over eager eater), an empty can the dog had stolen from the trash and (I missed see on my way out the house), and some kitten litter on the bathroom floor (not piles, just where it fell off their feet when they jumped out of the box. They also claimed to see a rat coming out of my closet which is supposedly why they didn't clean that day. This seems odd in a house with 4 cats (includeing 2 rescue cats known to be mousers) and a black lab that was known as a ratter when she lived on the farm. In fact my cats mostly hang out in my master bedroom and bathroom, and one cat likes to sleep on the lowest shelft in my closet so the younger cats don't bother her. So it would have to have been a suicidle rodent to even enter the area. My question to them is why they were even in my closet when I had closed the door before leaving and they don't clean in there. They didn't have an answer. By the way, I thoughly cleaned through my closet just to be sure, no rodents, no rodent droppings, no rodent chewing on the extra sack of cat food I keep there, no holes for entry, no evidence what so ever of anything of the sort. They did report a dog accident on a rug which was probably accurate as I have a new foster dog just learning, but they knew I had pets when I signed up, and I would have been fine with them not cleaning that area and leaving a note telling me why. I've had cleaning companies before that gave much better service for the mony.edac

See above--that says it all. I would never have them back in my house. I would prefer some dust to broken property.

It's always a good idea to plan for your cleaning just by picking up and making it easier for the cleaners to do their job. That way when you come home it is a complete job from start to finish and you come home to a finished job.

I love these guys. I have a smaller house now and generally handle basic cleaning by myself. So I use them only occasionally, like when I have company coming and am overwhelmed. They do a great job. It's amazing what two women can do in two hours. They're like a white tornado!

The job went very well, as noted by the finished results. When we returned home and checked the work it was very good, neatly done and the home was clean and fresh.

The Cleaning Authority has been cleaning our house every two weeks for a couple of years now. They always show up when they are supposed to and do everything they are supposed to do. And, they do it very well. They always leave a detailed list of everything they did that visit. They also add nice little touches. It is not unusual for us to come home after they have been there and find our hand towels nicely folded, or the ends of the toilet paper rolls neatly folded, or our little girl's stuffed animals all arranged in a fun way on her bed. They are always very responsive and having to reschedule is never a problem. We are very happy and expect to be happy customers for a long time.

They did an amazing job. this is the cleanest it has been since I moved in 8 years ago. They were very thorough. I am quite impressed and plan to continue the service on a regular basis. They also let me know when they finished so I could take my dog back home, as I chose not to leave her there and stress her out or have her annoying them. I was amazed at how much they got done in the time they were there.

They simply get the job done and do it well. Occasionally we notice something that wasn't done well, but it gets done the next time. If I wanted, they would send someone back out to do it better. They are very friendly and are good at returning phone calls, although I rarely need to call them.

The Cleaning Authority has completed the first two cleanings, and both were excellent, The bathrooms and kitchen shined. Vacuuming was thorough. Price was great with use of Angie's list coupon.

We give them top grades across the board and will continue to use them in the future.

They are awesome. They came out and gave me a quote, went through everything. We developed a schedule and they came out and did the work. I couldn't believe how clean everything was. They did an awesome job. They have a portal that you can get into and look at your schedule, load your payment information, etc. It's like Christmas every two weeks when they come. My kids think fairies come in and clean which is funny. It's so nice to be able to spend time with my family and not have to worry about cleaning on my free time.

The company owner - Jay - met with me promptly to give me an estimate and set up service. They were flexible in the frequency of their cleaning services. They were again flexible and understanding when their first attempt at getting into our apartment (due to an issue with our apartment complex) was unsuccessful and we needed to reschedule. Most importantly, they did a great job in cleaning our apartment. Good quality work. I would definitely recommend them!

The team that does my house is punctual, professional, pleasant, and very thorough. The price for my house recently went up $3.00, but I feel that was reasonable considering that the cost of everything has increased. I will continue to use them and to recommend them to others.

The Cleaning Authority cleans our house every four weeks. I like that they do a detail clean on some portion of the house every time. Occassionally, I've been disappointed in some area of cleaning (last time, it was the Master Bath floor); but I know if I said something it would be fixed -- the owners are very responsive. I'm just not much of a complainer.

I hired the Cleaning Authority to do bi-weekly cleanings for me. The first visit was very average for a cleaning company and took appx. 2 hours longer than quoted at consult and the second visit was a total disappointment. The girls showed up late on both visits. On the second visit: The agreement states that they will be uniform, which they were not. The agreement states that they will not smoke around your home. They smoked before entering my home and 1 gal took a break during cleaning to smoke. One gal played games on her cell phone while the others cleaned, quickly putting it away when I came downstairs. Cleaning was less than average on this visit. Dust was left on top of dressers, trash from other rooms was shoved into kitchen trash can, blinds were untouched, pictures were left crooked, furniture was not moved back, areas were not vacuumed and more. I contacted the owner asking about the timing issue since they were late both times...asking should we move the time. She then stated that times are not guaranteed. When I had my consult with her I explained that I needed to know times for my scheduling and she never said that they aren't guaranteed nor that they are only approximate times (these were 8:30AM times). She said that she hoped that I was happy with the cleaning. I explained that we were disappointed and told her that I felt that she would appreciate the feedback and that we were not certain that we would be continuing. She thanked me but did not offer to do anything to rectify the situation. I asked about the guarantee, as she told me about at the consultation. She offered to send someone in an hour but I was at work and unable to do that. She didn't offer another time and said she was closing out my account and refunding 2nd visit, which she did.

They are very helpful and do a good job cleaning.

They use the green products and they don't use a lot of chemicals and stuff. I actually found that their pricing is really good compared to some of the other companies. They are insured and bonded. I've been using them for over a year or a year and a half. I've got really good service from them. They are nationwide. I trust them which is important. They've always done a really good job and I've never had any problems.

I am very pleased with them. I've had them for just over a year. They are the first company I've ever used. One time I noticed a couple of spots on the floor and I called them. They offered to come right back and reclean the entire floor. I told them that wasn't necessary and they came the following Monday and recleaned the floor for me. Another time one of the ladies knocked something off a shelf and they offered to replace the shelf that wasn't even broken. They respond very well.

They may not be the best, but they are pretty good. I will continue to use them in the future.

First time cleaning done. Very happy with results. Crew was thorough and friendly. Have scheduled them to come every 2 weeks. I gave B for price...altho they charge going rate it is a stretch for me. Also gave B for professionalism....person I spoke with on phone asked me the same questions 3x over the course of a few calls, and first receipt showed an incorrect charge (error in my favor). But no prob other than that.

We are completely satisfied with the service that Cleaning Authority provides. I will refer them to anyone looking for a cleaner.
